I paraphrased Lakoff because he and I agree on an the power of the word and what, at least to me, what emotional valency it could have in communicating. The GOP is very good at branding and logos, they manage to make them hyperbolic and stick. Dems absolutely need to get out of the Enlightenment model and begin to think in exactly the same terms. I am so surprised no one does this. I have been clamoring for this for years. How could such a verbal group of people be rendered so mute? Essentially the government is here to protect. The fact that we are not a democracy ensures that all voices are heard. My assumption is that when Lakoff says the world is good he means the extension of the nurturant family, i.e. responsible government. Bats that suddenly have arms for example. Junk DNA may be responsible for the quantum leaps in evolution hypothesized.
