However, they are FEDERAL citizens, and not state citizens, and they can make a BIG stink that the feds are loathe to mess with. A good third of that public land is federal… national forests. Half or more of the remainder are STATE forests. So, what that little firesale will do is put up about 25% of the land in the northern half of the state up for sale at dirt-cheap prices, lock it down with no more access to hunters, fishermen, and other public uses like snowmobile and hiking trails, lake access to some of the best and most pristine lakes in the country, and allow development of any kind. I envision 4 or 5 loosely associated federations in maybe 50 years. The Northeast, the South, the Midwest, the Southwest, and the West. You can sort of see how the boundaries might look like if you think about the societal norms and political attitudes of the majority of people in those general areas and also think about possible economic autonomies of those different areas. She also knows “how to be a cat.” There’s this one housecat in another building that she is obsessed with for some reason. Others, she just goes up to, sniffs a bit, and walks away. THIS one, though, she makes a beeline for every day. That cat does not know cat ‘protocol’ and is scared… she moans and growls, and then yells and swipes and runs unto the apartment. Maggie tries every day to just get a little closer in slow motion, lays on her side or back, makes no eye contact, and just keeps edging closer. The other owner wants me and Maggie to keep trying, and little by little, it’s getting better. I just don’t understand why Maggie has picked THIS cat to cozy up to or whatever it is she’s doing. There will be a whole section of rags and sponges and so on for polishing and washing a car. You can get really nice all-cotton, lint-free cloths… usually 12 to a package for about $5. If yo want to go deluxe, you can get those ultra-absorbent poly cloths. More expensive, but they really work well. I use them for dishtowels and hand towels in the bathroom.
