Displaying 0 To 0 Of 0 Comments Living With What You Have Done . ST, I think we should teach our children that “killing” is wrong. Self defense is a possible excuse that can be acceptable. Or in defense of another person. » Posted By Nirek On September 3, 2014 @ 4:21 am Murph,As I said in the article, I called in artillery and mortars killing many of the enemy. That also bothers me but they were not as close as the guy who was shooting at me. I could see him clearly and see his eyes. That makes it more personal. » Posted By Nirek On September 3, 2014 @ 4:17 am Monica, thanks for the kind words and encouragement. Coming from you (one I respect) it really means a lot. » Posted By Nirek On September 2, 2014 @ 12:15 pm MLK and Rosa Parks are two of my favorite people in our history. » Posted By Nirek On September 2, 2014 @ 12:12 pm Thanks Brodie. » Posted By Nirek On September 2, 2014 @ 6:01 am Monica, your parents were wise. Intellectually I know it was not anything I change. My conscience keeps the action I took to save my own life and my fellow soldiers was my training actually working. It still is with me, part of me. I have come to understand what you say is true about getting it out, talking to someone about it. My son has said for a long time that I should write about my time in Vietnam. My first article here was my first time writing about the war. If anyone missed it, this is the link to it. https://planetpov.com/2014/03/31/life-of-a-draftee/#comments A shameless plug for my article. » Posted By Nirek On September 2, 2014 @ 5:05 am ST, you always touch my heart. I think of you as a good friend and philosopher. Thank you. » Posted By Nirek On September 2, 2014 @ 4:05 am Thank you, Kalima, it means a lot to me that you think that. Your father was right in my opinion. » Posted By Nirek On September 2, 2014 @ 3:57 am Son, you make me so proud every day. You and your sister are the best part of me. My best accomplishments. » Posted By Nirek On September 1, 2014 @ 12:51 pm Thanks Dbos, very nice of you to say that. I hope nobody ever has to go to war again. But I do know they will. Trouble is most of those who will go to war will be young people who are part of the middle class or poor. Never do the rich send their children off to fight in war. » Posted By Nirek On September 1, 2014 @ 12:27 pm The Weekend Music Thread-Scrambled Eggs

I see no reason to keep theirs in some room. They would make everyone safer and protect the officers from false reports of abuse. They of course would also protect the people the police deal with every day from police abuse. I think it is a win win situation. » Posted By Nirek On August 24, 2014 @ 11:47 am KT, I think they should wear those body cams so they can document for their benefit and the benefit of citizens. I think that is a good idea. » Posted By Nirek On August 24, 2014 @ 8:13 amComments Posted By Nirek
My citation gave me credit for over seventy kills from the artillery and mortars. I could not see their eyes or even them without the “starlight scope”.
Another person I admire greatly is my Senator Bernie Sanders here in Vermont. History will show that he is a good man.
I did not see that interview. However there is no justifying six bullets or even one when it comes to an unarmed teen.
By the way, I like the Rev!
Monica you got a lot of wisdom from your folks.
What they never thought of was that those body and dash cams could work in their favor as well as against them. They seem to me to be a little s l o w to catch on, huh?
The police in Ferguson Mo. are now wearing body cameras!
Bet there will not be any more shenanigans there. At least I hope not.
