I think it is great that Maine has a new Senator (Angus King) who is going to do as my Senator (Bernie Sanders) does. They are both independent and caucus with the Democrats!
I think we need more like these two!

Adlib as a veteran of the Vietnam war, thank you.
I was drafted in 67. Spent 69 in Nam as an infantryman. Upon return to the “world” as we called America, I was so against WAR! We had no business invading Vietnam. We had no business invading Afghanistan or Iraq either.
I saw first hand that the people in Vietnam didn’t want us there except they did like our money. The “black market” was BIG BUSINESS there and I bet it is with these other WARS.

Too many of our vets are coming home either in a body bag or injured.
Many who are in tact are inflicted with hidden injuries within.

My wish is for peace!

Bito, I also wonder about the General resigning because he kept the Benghazi thing from the President? Could he have kept the President ill informed? Or is it just as he says, that he had an affair?

I bet that you are correct about the GOP will have all kinds of things to say.Cover up? Conspiracy?

I hope the government can get to work now. The House has wasted so much time and money on trying to keep President Obama from having a second term, failing in that effort.
Just think how much better the country would be if they put as much effort into doing their jobs in stead of obstructing progress.

So Colorado and Washington have sane people voting for both Obama and the legalization of pot. I hope the other states follow their lead. The WAR on drugs will go better id they concentrate on hard drugs and leave innocent pot users to enjoy life. I
I personally don’t use tobacco, alcohol, or pot. But prohibition has never worked.
I like to think about farmers having a cash crop (pot and hemp) and the revenue the states can get while foiling the corner pusher. The production of the stuff will create jobs here in America as well.

It speaks volumes that Mitt didn’t run for a second term as Governor of Mass. because his approval rating was 43% and he knew he would lose.
Both Romney and Ryan are losing in their home states. Wisconsin and Mass. are in the Obama column. America should pay attention to what the people of those two states are telling us.

How can anyone believe that trickle down can help Americans? The GOP has had its tax cuts and the folks who benefited from them have sent the money saved to offshore accounts and NOT created the jobs promised.

TRICKLE down has NOT worked for 99% of us ! It has enriched the richest folks and increased their GREED!

Sue , Most religions agree that “God” gave us “free will”. With that in mind people can do evil , hurtful, violent things and that is NOT Gods will.
These people are NOT good Christians when they assign blame to God for evil.

When they want to force a woman to carry the seed of a violent rapist to birth against her will, that is punishing the victim of a violent crime.

I think these people are evil.

Sally, Bernie Sanders is working on a constitutional Amendment to reverse the “citizens united” screw up by the S.C.!He told me that there are others also working on it and that that is the only way to reverse it.

Bito, Vermont is a small state (600000) and I have known Bernie for thirty + years. When he comes to central Vermont I try to get to his event. In my opinion Bernie is the most honest and most caring Senator America has.
He got all of us fired up to vote for anyone except the republican candidates (he said the GOP is not your fathers GOP) He also said Ike would not be accepted in the republican party of today!

Friends , today I was at a meeting with my Senator Berine Sanders here in Northfield Vermont. He and I talked afterwards and suggested that sense the President has said he will veto any attempt to extend the “bush tax cuts” that after the first of the year he and others should present a bill to cut taxes on middle class folks and watch the republicans either vote for it or explain why that are against tax cuts.
Bernie agreed and said they already planned to do just that.

Also Bernie has a Constitutional Amendment to reverse the S.C. worst ever ruling that corporations are people (citizens united).

Bito, I saw the news and came here to write about how I feel about talking to Iran as opposed to invading that country!
America is far better off engaging Iran in talks than invading yet another country.

This is all the more reason to get out the vote ! VOTE for Obama and lets unleash Mrs. Clinton ! Let her talk to the Iranians. She will be tough but fair.

The only thing Romney beat the President at was lying!
Obama called many of the things Romney said untrue. He did it many times and backed it with some facts. I like that POTUS said that behind closed doors Romney says that 47 % of us think of ourselves as “victims” .Seniors, young,veterans, and the working poor.
Romney thinks we do not pay taxes? I am a senior, veteran and pay plenty of taxes and I’m offended by Romney!

I live in Northfield, Vt., Two Cats is owned by one of my daughters best friends (ours too).
My daughter studied oceanography and now owns her own business here in Vt. accounting consulting for other businesses and her husbands concrete business.
I wish I had known you were here, I would have met you for coffee.

AB, I’m in Vermont. Maine and especially Bar Harbor is my second favorite place. My daughter went to College of the Atlantic in BH. I’m glad you enjoyed your trip. Montreal is a beautiful city. Are you going to Quebec City? That too is a beautiful place. The Northeast is full of interesting and good people and places.
