The Tea Party congressmen will win their gerrymandered positions. But the moderate Republicans will have a fight on their hands. Maybe the Democrats can take back the House and bring some sanity back to our government. » Posted By Nirek On October 3, 2013 @ 5:52 pm Does anyone know how many shutdowns the Democrats have caused? Republicans? » Posted By Nirek On October 3, 2013 @ 2:28 pm I couldn’t agree more, Ad. » Posted By Nirek On October 3, 2013 @ 12:16 pm Ad, thanks for being rational. Too bad the MSM is not as rational. » Posted By Nirek On October 3, 2013 @ 12:15 pm Why don’t some of the republican House members who disagree with this shutdown leave that party and become either independent or Democratic? » Posted By Nirek On October 3, 2013 @ 8:49 am T-baggers are subverting our government. They are un-American! » Posted By Nirek On October 3, 2013 @ 4:51 am The time has come to arrest the TPers for treason. Then we can get on with the work of the government. Why? That is in the Constitution aiding our enemy in time of WAR. » Posted By Nirek On October 2, 2013 @ 1:19 pm Kes, they are courageous. They proved that during the WAR they won! » Posted By Nirek On October 1, 2013 @ 6:20 pm Sad but true. » Posted By Nirek On September 30, 2013 @ 7:02 pm Will the GOP ever learn that shutting the government is bad for America? » Posted By Nirek On September 30, 2013 @ 6:35 pm Ad, our founding fathers intended for citizens to serve in the legislature for a term or two and then return home to their jobs or businesses. America has devolved to having professional legislators. America would do well to return to citizens serving a term or two . Term limits is the only way I see to get there. » Posted By Nirek On September 30, 2013 @ 10:30 am I don’t think the Congress should be paid if they don’t do their work. The GOP wants the law known as “Affordable Care Act” or “Obama care” overturned or they will shut down the government. If the government is shut down , the Congress should NOT receive any pay or benefits. » Posted By Nirek On September 30, 2013 @ 7:30 am Kalima, it seems they are playing a game of chicken with the Democrats. And the result will be either America fails or the TP will burst. I’m in favor of the TP bursting. » Posted By Nirek On September 29, 2013 @ 10:50 am Kalima, that is a simple and accurate piece. Thanks for posting it. » Posted By Nirek On September 28, 2013 @ 5:37 pm Kalima, President Obama has said that this will have to be verified before sanctions are removed. You have a good weekend, too. » Posted By Nirek On September 28, 2013 @ 10:11 am Kalima, this is a big deal. It is proof that diplomacy is alive and well. Diplomacy works so much better than WAR. » Posted By Nirek On September 28, 2013 @ 4:21 am POTUS, is a “peace maker”. He spoke to the President of Iran today. The first time a US President has spoken to an Iranian President since 1979. He is talking about ending nuclear weapons research by Iran. Trying to talk with our enemies is making peace. Look at Syria and their chemical weapons. The President has extracted a treaty signing by the Syrians ! Two rouge nations with weapons of mass destruction talking about relinquishing them. This is progress. » Posted By Nirek On September 27, 2013 @ 1:31 pm Kalima, there is no doubt that the SC has not looked up the word corrupt. cor·rupt [kuh-ruhpt] Show IPA Too bad they SCOTUS will not see this post, huh? » Posted By Nirek On September 26, 2013 @ 1:44 pm Will the fools shut down the government in a lost cause? » Posted By Nirek On September 23, 2013 @ 4:04 pm He may as well be stateless since he is already mindless. » Posted By Nirek On September 21, 2013 @ 4:20 pm Ad, thanks for that. I know that there is a trust fund for Social Security. That trust fund is full of monies to pay out to recipients and also full of IOUs the congress put there when they raided the fund. What is going to happen if the military is not paid? And other government agencies? » Posted By Nirek On September 20, 2013 @ 10:35 am Ad, is it true that Social Security will still pay us ? That the military will still get paid? That politicians will still be over paid? Will the mail still go through? If the government is shut down, will all this still happen? Or will the SS stop, mail stop, military be in disarray? One thing I wager, the congress will still get their over payment! » Posted By Nirek On September 19, 2013 @ 1:31 pm Now the idiots are going to shut down the government. We need to get these fools out of office. » Posted By Nirek On September 17, 2013 @ 5:41 pm Sally, the GOP doesn’t call contractors government workers. The contractors in WAR zones are paid more than the military but it all comes out of the extremely inflated defense budget. You are correct about the top people getting the lions share of the pay. » Posted By Nirek On September 17, 2013 @ 5:40 pm Murph, this shooting was close to where congress is. It will take an episode in congress for them to take any action. God forbid. » Posted By Nirek On September 17, 2013 @ 5:35 pm Blessed are the peace makers. » Posted By Nirek On September 16, 2013 @ 6:37 am The news is coming fast. Syria and Russia have agreed to give a list of their chemical weapons and where they are. To allow international people to go in and secure them and destroy them. The main stream media is saying that this makes Obama look weak and silly. I say it is a big feather in President Obama’s cap! This news is far better than simply degrading Assad’s capability of using them. Now they will be destroyed in a safe and verifiable way. How can this not be a good thing? Diplomacy is working , jump started by a threat of force. To me the President is a great leader. Not a single missile fired and we have Assad signed on to the chemical weapons treaty. The only possible reason for the GOP to find fault with this news is that they hate the President. It is a BIG win for the USA and the GOP is trying to belittle the President? Crazy! » Posted By Nirek On September 14, 2013 @ 7:49 am Ad, before I was drafted I was a hunter. After I returned from Vietnam I went out hunting with my brother and every shot I heard I went down flat on the ground. That was the last time I ever went hunting. I sold my gun and never have touched one since. I go into the woods now but not during hunting season. For self defense at my home we lock our doors and I have my cane if need be. No guns here. » Posted By Nirek On September 14, 2013 @ 4:56 amComments Posted By Nirek
Interesting.
I’m betting the Republicans have most if not all.
The few who could should in my opinion.
Because they have done what AQ has been trying to do for years. They have hurt the American economy and disrupted the government , thus aid our enemy , AQ.
My Dad was with them during WWII and now in spirit.
As you may know I was an infantryman in Vietnam and came home against WAR. Peace is the best thing and diplomacy is the best way to achieve PEACE.
The President seems to understand that.
