Displaying 0 To 0 Of 0 Comments Kalima, I never understood why President Obama kept so many republicans on in such important positions. There are a bunch of capable democrats who would have done a better job. IMO » Posted By Nirek On January 8, 2014 @ 4:30 am So if corporations are persons, how can they buy their way out of being charged with a crime? Bernie Madoff did his business with a large bankster which today agreed to pay a billion plus to keep from being charged with collusion with Madoff. If a person could buy their way out of a prosecution then okay. Trouble is I never heard of a person doing that. So how is it that a corporate person can? Sounds to me like a double standard. » Posted By Nirek On January 7, 2014 @ 4:31 pm KT, I would like to see any politician live unemployed without help. Oh, wait, they can’t use their trust funds either. » Posted By Nirek On January 7, 2014 @ 3:37 pm So Speaker Bonehead wants cuts in the budget to offset the extended unemployment benefits ? Okay lets cut the loopholes out for corporations. Lets have the congressional junkets paid for by the congressman/woman. I bet just those things would save enough to extend unemployment benefits. Any other ideas for saving the government money? » Posted By Nirek On January 7, 2014 @ 3:14 pm Basketball diplomacy might work but I doubt that Dennis Rodman will get credit for it. He is incoherent at best. The “news widget” to the right has a story that is of interest. “PYONGYANG, North Korea (AP) — Former NBA star Charles D. Smith says he feels remorse for coming to Pyongyang with Dennis Rodman for a game on the North Korean leader’s birthday because the event has been dwarfed by politics and tainted by Rodman’s own comments.” Charles seems to have figured it out, (too late though). » Posted By Nirek On January 7, 2014 @ 12:09 pm Beatlex, this is the place for any topic. You sound like me. “w” is to blame for Iraq, our economy troubles (as you say OBL wanted to hurt our economy), and our bloated military budget. Don’t think I give BIG dick a pass though. He was the puppeteer pulling the strings. Glad to see you here on OT. » Posted By Nirek On January 7, 2014 @ 4:26 am Kalima, audacity is not strong enough. This guy was supporting “w” when he did the same thing. Even worse under “w” we tortured people. All the while the GOPers never complained. Idiots! » Posted By Nirek On January 6, 2014 @ 3:07 pm This 13 year old girl is brain dead but her parents want to have her kept alive and have sent her to a hospital that will insert a feeding tube. Is it right to keep a dead body in a hospital bed and take that space from a person in need of a hospital bed? Is it being supported financially by anti abortion groups? If it is, I think it is despicable. » Posted By Nirek On January 6, 2014 @ 12:04 pm Kalima, that was good news ! I actually hope the door does hit her in the fat ego. » Posted By Nirek On January 6, 2014 @ 7:00 am Good morning everyone. I went out this morning to fill my bird feeder 43 degrees out there and raining. Trouble is the ground is so frozen that everything is ice with a little rainwater on top. It is treacherous going and all the local schools are closed. My son-in-law is out sanding all his customers yards with chains on his truck. A large portion of the US is facing this kind of weather and we have an arctic vortex sending extreme cold tonight. This is crazy weather, due to (in my opinion) climate change by man made problems. We burn too much fossil fuel and have been for far too long. It isn’t like we didn’t have warning. Climatologists have been warning us many years now. Deniers have been blocking efforts to reduce the fossil fuel use and have been lead by the BIG corporations (coal, oil, gas *fracking*). My grandchildren have to survive in this environment. I have been teaching them what I know but it’s up to them how they react to it. » Posted By Nirek On January 6, 2014 @ 4:56 am Kalima, I’m more of an early type guy. Sometimes up by 4,5,6 in the AM here. can’t seem to stay up too late though. Nine or ten at night and it;s to bed for me. I’ll be checking MB from now on. » Posted By Nirek On January 5, 2014 @ 5:38 pm Colorado has a jump on all the rest of the states. Vermont is planning to visit the legalization of pot this year. There is a lot of tax money to be had. There is safety for users since it will be regulated, and jobs to boot! As for unemployment the TP has it wrong again. Like you said it creates jobs and business for small businesses. » Posted By Nirek On January 5, 2014 @ 5:02 pm Thanks for the links, Kalima. I have to go to the morning blog more often. » Posted By Nirek On January 5, 2014 @ 4:58 pm Can’t argue with you, Ca. » Posted By Nirek On January 5, 2014 @ 4:56 pm How can the republicans say that to extend unemployment is a bad thing for the unemployed? I actually heard one of them say that. I wonder what this cretin is smoking? Is he in Col. ? Where he can get pot legally? Or is he in the pockets of the Koch brothers and spewing garbage and hoping everyone will believe it? » Posted By Nirek On January 5, 2014 @ 7:03 am -18 degrees this morning. Brrrrrr! » Posted By Nirek On January 4, 2014 @ 4:41 am Yup, Kalima, the “money changers” again, huh? » Posted By Nirek On January 3, 2014 @ 2:16 pm Kalima, I use Facebook for just family and a few friends. 20 plus or minus people on my list of friends. Mostly I read things and look at photos posted by family. I try not to click on any adds. » Posted By Nirek On January 3, 2014 @ 1:47 pm Kes, the republicans had him winning by a landslide, remember. I’m thankful that it worked out like it did. » Posted By Nirek On January 3, 2014 @ 6:49 am Sally, That is the same time that I started working at the State of Vermont Dept. of Forests and Parks. I earned $35.50 a forty hour week. Then I was drafted and got $99 a month. » Posted By Nirek On January 3, 2014 @ 4:13 am Kalima, I would be disappointed if the music thread was no more. I’m glad KT got his new toy! » Posted By Nirek On January 2, 2014 @ 3:12 pm Kalima, I like to call them the “money changers”. The “Bible” kinda bad mouths them. Reading the posted links , the suit was done in Oct. Why is it not in the “news”? MSM doesn’t report news. They are no better than we who blog or write our opinions. Peace. » Posted By Nirek On January 2, 2014 @ 2:24 pm I don’t usually post a news piece unless I can confirm it. This caught my eye and I’ll try to confirm it soon. http://aattp.org/breaking-mitt-romney-is-being-sued-in-federal-court-for-criminal-racketeering/ confirmed by this story, http://samuel-warde.com/2013/12/mitt-romney-sued-racketeering-federal-court/ What do you think about Bain Capital ? » Posted By Nirek On January 2, 2014 @ 1:12 pm Thanks Kes, you are too kind. Happy New Year. » Posted By Nirek On January 2, 2014 @ 8:23 am Kalima, you are very kind. Thanks for being my friend , Kalima. » Posted By Nirek On January 2, 2014 @ 8:22 am KT, I doubt that Jesus would have a gun. The Jesus I learned about promoted peace and love. Let me add also that NO we do not miss “w” and never will. » Posted By Nirek On January 2, 2014 @ 4:12 am KT, thank you. I only wish I could write as well as you, Ad, PW, Kes, Kalima and so many others here. » Posted By Nirek On January 2, 2014 @ 3:19 am Kes, I learned so much from her about the family history. But more than that she taught me through example to be kind to others and look for the good in people. It is there in most of us. » Posted By Nirek On January 1, 2014 @ 3:57 pm Here at the Planet I feel inspired by all the great people who post some of the best opinions or statements. It is a challenge to write comments that are on a par with all of yours. So many excellent posts by a verity of great writers. I only wish I could express myself half as well as so many of you do. » Posted By Nirek On January 1, 2014 @ 3:06 pm Thank you, Glenn. » Posted By Nirek On January 1, 2014 @ 2:50 pmComments Posted By Nirek
Sometimes I feel that my heart is too big. I find myself thinking about all the folks that have passed. My aunt told me she would give my love to my folks. She was asked by the hospital administrator if she knew what was happening, her answer was “yes, I’m dying”. She was clear minded all her life.
