Pink, if I lived in West Virginia I would NOT drink or bath in the water until every executive of the chemical company did. Even then I’d wait to see how they were after a couple months.

At the risk of offending some of you who like the awards shows, here I go.

These people earn really good pay for the movies, songs, or other things the award shows (made up self congratulations) , IMO. So I for one refuse to watch any of them. There seem to be more each year.
That said if there were a real awards show for the republican worst actors like AdLib just posted and I laughed my A$$ off over , I just might have to watch it.

Kudos to AdLib for such a great and entertaining post!

Pink, I sang the words to myself and they are fitting. Denver is one of my favorites. He would be disappointed with what is happening there in WV.

VB, thanks for asking, I’m pretty well.

I agree that the Speaker is never correct. My point is that there should have been inspections at least yearly. What good are regulations if they are not enforced?

SP, it is no joke losing your hearing. I lost my hearing in my left ear in Vietnam. My right ear is hard of hearing. Therefore I understand how you feel. Hope it comes back for you.

My wife is always talking to me from another room or with her head facing away from me. Talk about not hearing well. I have to ash her to repeat herself often. I’m sure it drives her crazy, but it does me too.

Why have the regulations concerning the chemical spill in West Virginia not been used? They have gone years without an inspection. WHY?????

Maybe Boehner is right , and we don’t need more regulation. Maybe we need to enforce the regulations that are on the books already.

I can’t believe I just said “Maybe Boehner is right”, but where were the regulators for years?

Speaker “Bonehead” says that we need to deregulate NOT regulate these chemical plants. He is from Ohio and a neighbor of West Virginia. Ohio gets much of their water from the Ohio River. Why would anyone living there want to deregulate chemical plants along the very river they use for their tap water?

Yet another school shooting in New Mexico this time. At least 2 middle school kids wounded.

As a Vietnam war veteran (infantry, lots of firefights) I can assure you that middle school kids are not prepared for gun fights. Hell the majority of all Americans are not prepared for a gun fight or better said to be shot at with no way to defend yourself.

I still have minor problems from my experience in 1969. Every gun shot or helicopter I hear brings back memories.

Kids in school should NOT have to be exposed to gunfire!

SP, I know the pain of having to put down an animal you love. The hardest thing I ever did was to be with the veterinarian when he put down one of my horses. She had hoof problems and we spent hundreds on vet bills. He told me she would never get better and she was suffering.

I am so sorry for your loss. Time does heal wounds but there is always a scar. Mom’s are always hard to lose , too. Mine has been gone but not forgotten for 20 years.

Smot one for me in memory of our losses.

Kes, there is now and never has been anything clean about coal. This spill is so dangerous.

The big problem is the lack of science believers in WV and government politicians. But I bet that not one of them would drink that water.

Has anyone else thought about the fossil fuels wasted on that bridge closing by Christie’s people? Disrupting traffic just put even more pollution in the air. That was not a well thought out vendetta, was it?

After hearing on the news here about Gates and his book I am starting to think he is on the edge of treason. After all we are still involved in WAR in Afghanistan. He sounds to me like he wanted to keep prosecuting the WAR rather than to wind it down.

Over all I think the worst mistake President Obama made was keeping Gates and other holdovers from the failed Bush administration.

The President didn’t want to do the surge but was mislead by those holdovers. Biden was the voice of reason and Gates didn’t like him. From what I heard on the “news” that is.
