Bam.

This elicits only guilt-free laughter from me.

😆

I can’t wait to hear how last week isn’t “recent”

» Posted By Khirad On May 23, 2012 @ 9:23 pm

Did I mention I’ve voted in EVERY midterm and presidential election and sundry others – in other words I have a 99% perfect record – since I turned 18?

I wasn’t only thinking about the disenfranchisement they’ve been pulling countrywide, I was also personally offended they’d insinuate I was a bad voter.

But maybe I am a “bad voter” – in that I don’t vote for the “right” people. I am registered still, last I checked. Maybe they thought the “D” was for ‘delinquent’?

Like I say, I’m really interested to see if I can find out more on this.

» Posted By Khirad On May 23, 2012 @ 9:32 am

Something smells fishy. I didn’t receive an early ballot. They said I was an “inactive” voter.

Um, what? How so?

They said I hadn’t voted in two.

Yes, one was for mayor between bagger A and bagger B and the other I was out of town for. Both were very minor and specific. I want to vote for a congressional seat now.

Something makes me suspicious about this and I wonder if I’m the only one.

I remember in World History, my favorite was a supplemental book of historical maps. For as much that has stayed the same, the nation state is still a relatively new concept. I know most would be surprised that the Lithuanians and Poles were at one time pretty big and powerful. And Germany wasn’t really a country for the longest time. Took Napoleon to unify them.

I remember when I completely lost what little regard I had for her when I found that out some years ago.

I mean really, it does speak to your overall judgment when you marry a snake like that.

In case you never saw the full thing.

Oh rats, Kucinich won’t be carpetbagging in the PNW.

I only hope Seattle can find another liberal to run… I know it will be oh so hard to find a native Democrat who knows the state and its people. /snark

Talked to our local Democratic precinct chair. Internal polls say Barber is behind the guy that’s etch-a-sketched his position on SS and Medicare.

Ron Barber’s campaign needs to stop it with the quotes and just play the video. ‘Cause man that hurts. He’s got some ‘splainin’ to do about his sudden about-face.

He’s literally taken stickers to his own signs that say he’ll protect Medicare. He sticks it in about every sentence he can. Why so defensive? During the Tea Party surge in 2010 he said they should “get off the government dole.”

Except for National Parks, his bill wants all federal lands deeded over to the state, like national forests and such. Still not clear where Indian lands stand in this. All I know is I saw that 42% of Arizona is federal land, and that would seem to cohere.

I still remember 10th grade science. It was the most religious that had trouble wrapping their heads around the fact that the sun was a star (Sol). I don’t even know if they had a religious objection, it was just too hard for them to compute.

I’m not saying religious people are stupid. I just think there’s a certain correlation to certain types of religious rigidity and inability to digest new information which makes you think about things in a “new light.”
