A client of ours told hubby two years ago about the far reaching contamination in the groundwater when Tokyo had a few hotspots. The reason they won’t accept outside help from experts is because their game of lying to the public and hiding the fact that this island is in danger, would become public. This conservative government is enabling them and their obvious incompetence. Our tax yen have supported them. I often find indepth stories and post them here. More and more people are waking up and fighting back. Couldn’t watch the video on my iPod, so I’ll watch it later on my Mac. Thanks for including it. » Posted By Kalima On May 25, 2014 @ 3:56 pm Hi Nirek. That sounds like a clever machine. The reason we now have one here is for surveillance because of the growing tension with China about the Senkakus Islands. The islands belong to Japan, but once it’s was established that the sea around them hold a wealth of minerals, they suddenly were claimed by China and S. Korea. China continues to violate Japanese airspace around the islands and sends ships into Japanese waters. Japan is now pretty fed up, especially after China broadened their airspace illegally saying that anyone who breached it without permission would be punished or shot down. China is a bully in this region and needs to be stopped. Not satisfied with taking over Tibet and threatening Taiwan not to become independent, they are now trying to claim seas that have never belonged to them. Hence the trouble now with Vietnam. Asia’s biggest threat is China. » Posted By Kalima On May 25, 2014 @ 3:42 pm Good Morning Nirek. There are a lot of articles so most people come back to read others when they have time. Hope you are having a good Sunday and wish peace to you and yours. Your post will be published in another few hours. I agree it is an appalling story about the widow having to pay money to the train company that was also responsible for her husband’s death. The privatisation business in the U.K. is why our NHS is in such a mess. I also have to add my wonderful grandparents in Germany who played a huge part in bringing me up in my childhood. Yes, there will always be those dates that haunt us and for me before my father died it was December the 5th when I held her hand and stood by helplessly when my mother died. Christmas was also never the same for me, she had made that time so special for me all of her life, and that sparkle never came back because I just couldn’t reproduce it. They all would be happy to know that we think of them every day, and hopefully proud of us for remembering what they taught us. Take care. » Posted By Kalima On May 15, 2014 @ 1:41 am Hello monicaangela. Just a quick in and out as my morning is a bit busy, but I’ll be posting news updates in your morning. Cheers and thank you for everything! » Posted By Kalima On May 14, 2014 @ 4:59 pm Hello monicaangela, good to see you here again. So glad you enjoy the stories I post, and as long as you do, I’ll keep on posting them. So sorry to hear about the loss of your mother, I lost mine when she was in her late 40’s, almost 30 years ago, and no, you never get over it or stop missing them. My father died six months after my favourite aunt in May 2012. It was a few weeks after my birthday and the birthdays since then have never been the same. We go on because that is what they would want us to do, but you miss them more as the years pass. I wish you peace and comfort. Take care and hope to see you again soon. » Posted By Kalima On May 13, 2014 @ 2:30 pm Hello kes, now it’s me who is a day late, so we are even. 😉 Yes can you imagine working hard all your life, trying to save for your later years, and you find that the taxman has taken a big chunk out of your saving account by mistake, and there will be mistakes. Meantime the rich are piling up off shore accounts by the dozen while the conservative government pampers them hoping for a campaign handout? Where have I heard that before? I too enjoyed Mary Beard’s article and get so annoyed when older people who obviously are a bit slower are labeled as having dementia just because they might forget something once in a while. Truthfully, I know quite a few people in their 20’s and 30’s who don’t even know what day it is. Quality of life and good healthcare with doctors who don’t dismiss them as being old and unimportant is a must. Love and understanding from their families is so vital to their well being. People conveniently forget that one day it will be them sitting in that chair feeling helpless because they feel that no one is listening to them. Glad you watched the last three parts of the series. It was eye opening and disturbing. The people who used them didn’t see them as human beings at all. Shameful. I’ll post the answer to the trivia quiz on your Thursday morning. Until then, take care and see you soon. » Posted By Kalima On May 13, 2014 @ 2:18 pm Hi Nirek. Yes the pictures are good, especially the animal ones. We can learn a lot from them I think. Glad to hear that you sometimes come back to read other stories. Thanks. I used to do this every day, but that became an obstacle race because of the source subscriptions.
