He had done the same with about 30 other people in the neighbourhood and because of police warning flyers, they managed to catch him trying to steal from someone else. These people called the police and he was caught the same day because of footage on a home security camera. I managed to get some of my money back, it was still in the bag with my bank books. We plan to install a security camera very soon and I no longer just open the door to anyone without the chain being in place. Years and years of accumulated stuff that you keep because someone was kind enough to give it to you. Stuff you bought because you thought it would come in handy some day, but just became buried at the bottom of a pile of more junk and suddenly it becomes a mountain of junk and you fear for your life.
