Continuing with the story about 10 Americans trying to take 33 children out of Haiti, if I was angry yesterday, this morning I’m furious. Seems like quite a number of them were not orphans, the story in the link below made me see red, this part especially. “One of their lawyers said they were being treated poorly: “There is no air conditioning, no electricity. It is very disturbing,” Attorney Jorge Puello said by phone from the Dominican Republic, where the Baptists hoped to shelter the children in a rented beach hotel.” Oh for goodness sake, while hundreds are still missing under the rubble, a lawyer for these do gooders who were stealing children off the streets while people were still searching for missing loved ones, have the nerve to complain about the lack of comforts like A/C. Give me a break please, there are still hundreds of thousands sleeping in the open, one toilet between, maybe not even enough food and water to go around and they complain about comforts? After reading this, my heart ached for these poor children and the panic they must have felt thinking about being separated from their families after all they have gone through and witnessed since the quake. This story just caught my eye because if I remember rightly, there was a similar story not so many years ago about a group of French nationals taking children out of a country without permission. If they don’t go through the proper channels then their arrest is really no surprise. Just finished watching the last days of Michael Jackson rehearsing for his “This is it” tour in London. The man was as fit as a 25 year old and left the younger dancers in the dust. I felt very sad at the end knowing that someone is still walking about as a free man, after administering the lethal combination of drugs which led to Michael’s death. A population of over 1.3 billion people (1,330,044,605 as of mid-2008), many of them living in poverty, the powers that be also want Tibet and Taiwan to remain under their control.
