First of all, I only have the B.B.C. World and CNN International to watch here on cable, the rest is limited to a few 30 minute Podcasts I download from iTunes. CNN only streams 3 of your domestic programs, “The Situation Room” “360 AC” and “Larry King” the rest of the news is from international desks around the world. I got my first computer in March 07 and as a personal request from a friend in CA, joined HP in June of the same year. It was the first time that I had witnessed American politics up close and personal. My frustration is not with the Muslim community, although a few leaders of middle eastern countries could have said a lot more after 9/11 but rather with the lack of coverage in the media, especially in this case in the British media, because of the negative views held by the majority of the public about radical mosques and their teachings. I was against buying a computer in the beginning, I’m useless with technical things and toys, now it’s my lifeline, my door to the world and I’d be lost without it. Hearing that the condemnation of terrorism is not a subject in your media makes me angry, I hope that this might change under President Obama in the future, once he has the time, once he signs the HCR bill. After 9/11, I remember hearing about the condemnation from various Muslim groups in America, the story was brief and without much detail, it could have been on CNN. This is news and should have been on every news station around the world, on the front page of every newspaper around the world as well. For anyone that has ever done any business with Japan, they know that they will be in for a long wait. This was just a meeting, there could be many, many more before any decisions are made. I will say one thing, this government is desperate to expand it’s economic koffers and I don’t trust Hatoyama as far as I could throw him. You only have to look at the situation with the U.S. base in Okinawa to realize what a contrary ditherer this man is by making President Obama wait for an answer until May. I think that many Japanese who voted for him are having “buyer’s remorse” the ones who didn’t can’t wait for the next election. Should I hear anything, I will post it here.
