I was in a good mood today, the new scratching posts and a big, soft cat cushion arrived at last, I was going to assemble them to surprise my tribe after speaking with two wonderful friends on Skype. The afternoon went well, we finished our call, I assembled one new scratching post, admired my handiwork and being able to follow the instructions written in Japanese. I would have patted myself on the back if I could, but decided to put out the new cushion before lugging the heavy post up our narrow, winding staircase to the second floor. After a lot of sniffing and testing by 3 of them, I decided that I deserved a nice cuppa and a cinnamon roll for my efforts. As I came into the living room I saw one of the furry ones sniffing and scratching the “new” cushion. On closer inspection I realized that it had been christened in my absence. Ungrateful little buggers!! As for bull fighting, even traditional fox hunting by a bunch of gormless toffs in the U.K. was outlawed after enough outrage from the public and groups declaring it unnecessary cruelty. Tradition or not, it is a cruel blood sport and should be scorned as such. Personally I’m not a fan of any sports involving animals and I don’t like zoos or circuses either.
