Your last paragraph made me smile because I remember my grandmother throwing up her arms in mock surrender when I asked her so many questions every day. One day she cleared out a kitchen drawer and told me to store my questions in there for another day, I did and wrote them down. After a few months I could do about as much on it as I do now. I learned how to C&P, learned how to post links on blogs quite by accident, and now find that my mind has completely shut down when it comes to following written instructions to try something new. Now 3 years later, I know that my life would not be the same without it, it has become my lifeline, it takes me places that I’m no longer able to travel to. Through my Mac I have made many wonderful friends around the world. I work from home and used to do my stuff through phone calls and my old fax machine. Can’t believe that this was only 3 years ago. I can see my father’s face twice a week on Skype, even if the connection from here to the U.K. is sometimes lousy or the sound crackles like a pan of frying chips, it’s still a wonderful thing to be able to do. So no, I don’t think that I would be able to do without the internet, could you? “Back to reality: giving up the internet” Could you survive for a week without checking your email or looking at the internet?
