People like to post where they feel they belong in some way. For that reason the whole fanning process on Huffy is genius because it instantly creates a false community. People like to post with people they agree with most of the time. There is nothing wrong with that. I think it’s more human nature not an addiction.

Thanks for the link Kalima. I don’t understand too many people’s attitudes in this country. They just are so cold to the people who suffer in our horrible healthcrap system. I saw another troll on the Atlantic describe the insurance he supported and like too many people in this country they view healthcare insurance as car insurance. The problem is attitudes won’t change until we have insurance and that’s the Catch 22.

We both got our ticket.

Yup loyal to awful people and no loyalty to his party or constituents. I don’t know what you call people who overly admire service members and vets to a fault but the best analogy I could come up with is Lieberman is like a jock sniffer who constantly sucks up to pro athletes. Instead Lieberman sucks up to service people and vets. You know I appreciate our troops and veterans but Lieberman never thinks anyone who has ever been in the military can do any wrong.

I agree with you. I think Reid really really thinks he can get the votes. Convincing yourself you can do something is the first part of being able to realize that goal. Even after Lieberman’s statement Reid sounded very positive he would get his vote. I think Reid is really putting his career on the line and is going down fighting one way or another. He does not have much to lose.

It’s always dangerous when you try to read into people’s intentions. Politically, it would have been much easier for him to go with the BS trigger. Historically on policy issues Reid has been leaning with progressives more often than not but has been spineless in some cases. I give Democrats the benefit of the doubt who support he public option. I think they are channeling their core Democratic inclinations. Lieberman has always been the biggest loose cannon in the coalition because he is not a Democrat anymore and showed he can betray the Democratic Party quite easily.

Faux News, Plush Limpballs, and Hairyanna

Aryanna actually uses puritan’s (to borrow K7’s word) non compromising style against the white house. In every government there is a political arm and a policy arm. Of course the political strategist know that passing a public option is a heavy lift and risky, but that has nothing to do with the policy arm supporting the public option. Of course the president needs to wear both hats. Huffy opportunistically uses the naivete of these purists against the white house for more clicks and giggles.

The last two sentences are the crux of the problem on HP. They are just about building opposition and not about supporting anything. Look at the other progressive websites like DailyKOS that are real progressive advocacy sites. They have no time criticizing Democrats when appropriate but they don’t engage in the same kind of constant cage rattling that Huffy does.

That is a concern but ANPs are one answer and so is not putting limits on doctor visas. The AMA puts pressure on the INS to limit visas and limit the number of medical students. There organizations are as big a problem as most providers in the US.

I’m just not big on the social networking thing but I do like music nights. I think K7 is going to do a HuffNo Friday night music night here. The advantage is here you can actually embed most music videos.

I believe in balance. Sure personal banter is going to be part of any blog but when it dominates a blog it’s all just noise after a while.

Yup I never trusted her from the beginning. I never accepted her hatred for the Clintons. The Clintons are not perfect but they are both good Democrats who have done allot for this country. Far more than Aryanna has done or will ever do.

I’m obviously obsessed with healthcare reform because most of the articles I write are about healthcare reform.

Racists like Limbaugh always talk about race and that’s a tell that they he is a racist.

Bankington’s continued focus on banks and the treasury department shows she is obsessed with money. She may use faux populist outrage as a guise but anyone who knows anything about human nature can see what she REALLY cares about. Also here use of hyperbole and personal attacks shows her passion for money.

Now missfrenchyUSA has written some excellent articles about the economy and banking, but you notice her articles are completely different from they hyperbole Aryanna uses. MissfrenchyUSA like a true person who is enthralled with economics sees all sides of an issue like a dispassionate economist should.

Adlib excellent post again. That’s why I call Huffington Post, Bankington Post. The constantly are obsessed with the banks and use WSJ stories on the main. There is nothing progressive about that. Banks are a necessary evil and her obsession with banks shows she is obsessed with money. Progressive causes are healthcare, education, the environment, labor, green energy, social justice etc… Progressives don’t run banks for a reason. You have to be a money grubbing, greed is good asshole to be a banker.

Do We Need Trolls?

I would really like to have conservative and more moderate voices here. AliMB is a poster on HP that is conservative but makes good arguments. I’m progressive but I’m know I’m not as liberal as some posters on some issues here so a few more moderates would be welcome.

I know I have had a hard time not being defensive especially with so call “trolls” when they constantly go over the line and ridicule every Democrat or anything progressives it takes a huge amount of restraint to hold back. The name calling especially gets to me. I know I have not always had that restraint. But there are just people that engage in troll like behavior 100% of the time and I don’t see a problem calling those type of people trolls.

I also hate to say there are trolls who are at both ends of the traditional right left political spectrum. My personal political ideology is there is making progress or going backwards. Any form of extremely uncivil debate is going backwards.
