Corporatism is almost as bad as dictatorship. It leads to imperialistic wars. It has total disregard for the environment. It controls government. It concentrates almost all of the wealth in the top 2%. That is the form of totalitarianism we must struggle against. » Posted By DawgBone On February 11, 2011 @ 10:02 am Ha! » Posted By DawgBone On February 11, 2011 @ 9:25 am I’m thinking that the age of dictators may be drawing to a close. The idea of one person ruling an entire country is so absurd, and with the free flow of information we have these days, people will see and understand how absurd and unjust it is. Democratic revolutions may go viral. I hope so. And I hope the US winds up on the right side of the struggles. » Posted By DawgBone On February 11, 2011 @ 9:16 am HH, it’s a good idea to take a shower after a visit to HP. The model that de Tocqueville describes is a wonderful ideal. But the country that we have become has little to do with these ideals. Our ‘republic’ is in fact a soft form of corporate fascism. Corporations own our media. Plus, as we move inevitably closer to globalism, the American Republic loses its importance. It could even be argued that a strong America is a bump in the road on the way to one-world government. The Elite are not interested in a strong America. That is not the plan. And will this one-world government manifest de Tocqueville’s ideals? Fat chance. » Posted By DawgBone On February 9, 2011 @ 11:52 am Boomer beat me to it. Corporations own our congressmen.
The Elite control almost all the wealth.
