I do not consider killing someone in self-defence to be a moral act. I consider it to be a necessary, though immoral act.

I think that we should accept that sometimes there is no “good” option, just varying degrees of “bad” options.

Contrary to what some anti-abortion activists say, virtually no one supports abortion for the sake of abortion.

I’d guess that most pro-choice people would consider abortion to be a sometimes necessary, though unsavoury act. Under what conditions is an abortion necessary is where the disagreement amongst pro-choice people lies. For some, the scope is quite broad and for others quite limited.

Now, I really could not pick a style of music that I’d choose over the others. I tend just to follow the songs themselves rather than the musicians or genres.

I quite like a lot of so-called oldies music, I have a love/hate relationship with pop music as some of it is actually very, very good, but most of it is just, ugh.

However, to contradict myself I’m a huge David Bowie fan:

I saw “American History X”, “Schindler’s List”, “The Passion of the Christ”, “Michael Collins”, “Shawshank Redemption”, the “Wind that Shakes the Barely” and some film that was a acted portrayal of David Koresh in school. This usually took place in religion class where our school invariable refused to implement an actual curriculum.

The audience was anywhere between 14 and 17 – our school also ignored the ratings – depending on when we saw the film. We all got a lot out of these films, even if they all are very violent, so I’m still unsure about censorship.

On a lighter note, a class favourite was “Anchorman”.
