And it envisions slicing nearly $760 million from the White House request for the WIC nutrition program that provides support to pregnant women and their children.” “House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) told reporters Wednesday morning that excessive federal funding has “been a big inhibitor to investment and job growth.”” http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/02/09/AR2011020903675.html?hpid=topnews Also included in these cuts are half finished stimulus projects… http://thinkprogress.org/2011/02/09/half-finished-republicans/ So, tell me, how is this going to increase job growth Mr. Cantor…. » Posted By BigDogMom On February 9, 2011 @ 12:53 pm Thanks bit, thought it was me…which it usually is. » Posted By BigDogMom On February 8, 2011 @ 3:13 pm Hey Hope, how’s it going? » Posted By BigDogMom On February 8, 2011 @ 3:12 pm Is anyone having problems getting on the Planet tonight? Birther Bill Introduced By Danbury Senator; Committee Co-Chair Dismisses “Divisive Type Of Bill” That Is Not Priority Sen. Michael McLachlan, a Danbury Republican, has offered proposed bill number 291, which is known as “An Act Concerning Qualifications to Appear As A Candidate For President or Vice-President On A Ballot In This State.” The bill, which is currently one sentence, would require the Secretary of the State to certify “that the certificate holder is a natural-born United States citizen, prior to certifying that the candidate is qualified to appear on the ballot.” But McLachlan told Capitol Watch that he believes the measure is actually straightforward. “I don’t consider this a birther bill. I believe this is a Presidential qualification bill,” McLachlan said. “I’m taking it right out of the Constitution. It is very simple.” State Sen. Gayle Slossberg, co-chairwoman of the committee where the bill was filed, was immediately cool to the idea. When asked for the chances of the bill being approved by the committee on a scale of 1 to 10, Slossberg said, “I can’t imagine that members of the committee are going to want to spend time on this. I don’t know if this is one person’s opinion or concern or this is the arm of out-there people. … This is just ridiculous.” http://blogs.courant.com/capitol_watch/ » Posted By BigDogMom On January 31, 2011 @ 5:30 pm Sounds like a Rush comment…critical thinking and formulating ones own “ideas” doesn’t come easy for that crowd, scary ain’t it. If it makes you feel any better, we have a couple in our family too. I try to be pleasant with them when they come out with these comments, (stop reasoning with them a long time ago), hubby just rolls his eyes…. » Posted By BigDogMom On January 31, 2011 @ 3:48 pm Welcome KB, yes, I post at HP from time to time, thought this was hysterical, needed a laugh after a very long day… » Posted By BigDogMom On January 31, 2011 @ 3:08 pm Thanks kes.. » Posted By BigDogMom On January 31, 2011 @ 2:52 pm Bad Day, boy I needed this… Re: Palin glad she won’t be blamed for Egypt. AP reports: Sarah Palin discusses herself in response to her image. Her image retaliated by throwing herself under the bus. Herself then tweeted her image is unfair and treating herself badly. Her image could not be reached for comment as it was busy burying herself in her own words. She then jumped in the conversation and contradicted herself, leaving her image tainted. Luv you Rachel. The last line could be construded two way, MSNBC’s higher ups thinking that they know all the answers and not bothering to ask questions of it’s viewers want to see, thinking they know what’s best for us. And on the other side of the coin, Keith may be humbling admitting that at times he overstepped his bounds with his employer, because of his enthusiasim to get out the truth. Keith will be greatly missed by many and I pray that by letting him go is not the begining of the silencing of truth and oposing opinions of the right slanted MSM news. » Posted By BigDogMom On January 22, 2011 @ 6:59 amComments Posted By BigDogMom
“It was a real shock that such a divisive type of bill would be proposed,” said Slossberg, a Milford Democrat. “I don’t see it as a priority for the committee. Talk about the fringe. This is an old and disposed-of matter.”
