Time Out for O/T – Vol. 15

Adlib, the old smoke and mirrors trick to make it look like he’s giving more…I must remember he plays chess, not checkers…

» Posted By BigDogMom On April 5, 2011 @ 3:50 pm

bito, I like that one.

» Posted By BigDogMom On April 5, 2011 @ 3:29 pm

Adlib, so are you saying that the President’s original budget for 2011 had cuts of $33 billion, plus another $40 billion added to that to come to the Republicans number of $73 billion or is it the other way round…I’m so confused, and why doesn’t any of the talking heads explain this?

» Posted By BigDogMom On April 5, 2011 @ 3:27 pm

Well I did see him on TV once…what he said, I can’t remember… 🙂

» Posted By BigDogMom On April 5, 2011 @ 3:17 pm

Adonai, both, UCONN threw off Butler’s rhythm with their defense, Oriakhi finally came to play last night, and Lamb’s 7 ft. reach in rebounds helped a lot.

Yes, it wasn’t pretty, but you gotta do what you gotta do….

» Posted By BigDogMom On April 5, 2011 @ 2:48 pm

So I guess it would be a better game if it was slow and methodical, with only perfect three point shots…how dare a team play like that, arms and bodies flying!!!

So sorry that you were cheated, oh, and offended…maybe you should switch to watching golf from now on.

(By they way, that was the intent….to throw the other team rhythm off, even Butler’s attempt at caging didn’t work, well better luck next time!)

» Posted By BigDogMom On April 5, 2011 @ 2:44 pm

Artist, thanks, it was painful on both sides, both teams looked off balance and made really bizarre mistakes.

UCONN won because they were able to capitalize under the net, we made none of our three pointers…that had to be the lowest scoring NCAA championship game ever!

Butler will be back in next year and I hope they win….if UCONN is not playing!!!

» Posted By BigDogMom On April 5, 2011 @ 2:18 pm

Butler had none inside the paint, UCONN’s were all inside the paint…

» Posted By BigDogMom On April 5, 2011 @ 2:14 pm

It should be so easy as this….

» Posted By BigDogMom On April 5, 2011 @ 1:05 pm

I thought we were at $33 billion, guess not…sometimes I question the Presidents negotiating skills, gee if the Republicans had asked for $200 million but would have settled for $150 million in cuts, would President Obama started at $150 million?

In an unannounced appearance in the White House briefing room, Obama said that “we’re now closer than we’ve ever been to getting an agreement” on the fiscal 2011 budget. He said his administration has agreed to $73 billion in cuts as originally proposed by House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio). Now, he said, “the only question is whether politics or ideology are going to get in the way” of heading off a federal government shutdown.

White and Navy, UCONN Re-Mix

Hey kes, UCONN’s coach, Jim Calhoun said of Smith, “If this is the future of College Basketball, then we are in good hands and the future looks bright”.

» Posted By BigDogMom On April 5, 2011 @ 3:46 am

khirad, no offense taken, that was a pretty ugly game, for Butler…we are a scrappy bunch aren’t we!

Well you live by the three point shot, you die by the three point shot…

A Wisconsin wind blows into New Haven, CT…

(Note: I am hoping the dog in the first pic was not harmed when it’s owner removed all that tape that was used to hold the sign in place!)

Morning Truth, your right about Buddy opening his own Sign Shop since there will be one less in town. Sometimes being a “one-man-operation” is the way to go, both my husband and I are. Low overhead, you fill a need in the community and you can produce the work that you love to do at your own pace and with the quality that some of the other businesses in your field do not…I believe in making lemon aid out of lemons!

Buddy if you decide to set up shop, let me know, I set your books up for free!

» Posted By BigDogMom On April 2, 2011 @ 4:52 am

Buddy, I wish you well, you are very talented, I’m sure you will have no problem selling your work and you will probably receive some new commissions from it. No need to feel embarrassed from collecting unemployment, as bito said, you paid into it, it’s your money plus the interest that it’s earned over all the years you have worked and paid into the system.

Let me guess, one of the Fitzgerald boy’s Uncle is in the building business…

Hey Q, for you guys up there in Litchfield County, down here by the water, rain/snow mix, less than 1″, right now is “sphitzing” here, Spring can’t come soon enough for me…

Morning bito, we have a big newspaper war going on here in the Metro area, which includes NYC, Northern NJ and So. Western CT. The NY Daily News is in hot competition with the Murdoch run NY Post, very similar to the NY Times and WS Journal.

It has been all out war for readers for all four papers, a war that Murdoch started, every since he took over the papers, but seems to be loosing.

The Daily News as we call it here, is capturing the Union and blue and white collar worker’s market, where as The Post has become just a tabloid rag, that makes The Enquire look like a serious news source. I believe The Daily news is winning…

texliberal, that is truly creepy..did you check the comments out, on poster wrote this:

This video shows the EXACT reason why no country would EVER successfully invade the United States. Our civilian militia would repel the attack of any other nation on planet Earth. If you think our military is good, just wait until you threaten the lives and freedom of 80+ million US gun owners who possess over 250 million firearms. Of course, all the left-wing liberals would be running for cover behind those of us on the front lines defending freedom.

The most perfect reply to it:

Airplanes and Bombs defeat Guns and Bullets. Sorry.

bito, read that earlier, can you just imagine the type of education these kids are going to receive? How slanted and warped it will be…then they will be released into the world bringing with them their ignorance and hate, oh goody, can’t wait.

» Posted By BigDogMom On March 30, 2011 @ 2:43 pm

e’cat, too funny… 😆

» Posted By BigDogMom On March 30, 2011 @ 2:35 pm

bito, thanks for posting that, I remember my mother had a little girl in one of her classes who was very similar to Emerald, she was a drug addict baby, her mother was no longer alive and she lived with her 70 something year old grandmother who was having a hard time taking care of her.

It took a year for this child to learn to write her name and the follow school year she was back with my mother, she had totally forgotten everything from the previous year.

Now my mother was a special ed teacher way back when, when developmentally disabled where separated and just about had one on one tutoring.

These kids are mainstreamed now in our town, I can’t even imagine what would happen to a child like this now, along with 20+ other kids, what does a teacher do?

Char, OMG, poor thing and poor mommy that had to clean up the mess! 😮

(I also love talking dog 🙂 )

Well, I need to get dressed, still in my PJ’s and old robe since 4:30am, it is now 3:00pm, when the dog decided he needed to go out, (only wakes mommy for that), and then took his sweet old time coming back in. By then I was wide awake…gee awfully glad I took a sick day today!

e’cat, how’s this for a strange dog, Win will only eat breakfast if it made by my husband, if I make it he gives me a dirty look and goes and lays in his chair by the fireplace, literally huffing and refuses to eat it.

Dinner, mommy has to make it, he just started doing this about 6 mos. ago, what caused this behavior I have no idea.

Golden Retrievers are very peculiar dogs, very set in their ways and any breaking of the routine is clearly out of the question.

Our other dog, Rudder, was worse…sometimes I believe I’m only here to serve them.

» Posted By BigDogMom On March 30, 2011 @ 11:08 am

Win’s scared of the little ones too, maybe I should get one of those “Thundershirts”…. 😆

Smile for the day:

This why everyone should have a dog….
