Hi there, SmotPoker – Nice to meet you! Have not heard of this book but will keep the link. I like history as well and I am always reading! My books go wherever I go. I also love sci-fi and biographies about the times and actors from the 30’s and 40’s. And I have all of the Clive Cussler adventure books. – Hope your day is more peaceful and goes well.

Thanks for the short version, Funk. I have been avoiding their debates as I knew it would be over the top idiotic. Incredible to find these campaign “platforms” for the position of a state governor in the 21st century.

Implied inferences from only a name is actually what is simplistic. The ramifications of fringe extremism are well known – these extremists have been enacting legislation for almost four years. They are not just a danger, the damage to our democracy had already occurred as evidenced by real laws that affect real people every day. – It is more than the attempts that are absurd, it is absurd as well for extremists to think that they will have any relevant or lasting impact as we continue to progress into the 21st century.

I most certainly agree, KT! I have rarely seen such an agenda of hatred like that of the current GOP with making every gathering of politicians or news event into something against our President. The disrespect is quite disgusting. For me, it is also disgusting when the disrespect of our President turns into a disrespect for We the People who elected him.

Agreed, Kesmarn. I also wish these religious extremists would stay out of politics and stop their absurd attempts to suppress women’s reproductive rights. – Hope your day goes well.

Hi, KT – I noticed this event as well. Dobson is a 78 year old white male who has been trying for decades to spout his religious extremism. He definitely does not understand the meaning of bipartisan. His approach to the right wing political agenda of women’s reproductive rights is despicable. Dobson exemplifies the phrase “out of touch”.

Like Hahn, I would have walked out as well. She is to be commended for her actions. Over forty years ago, the Roe-V-Wade decision upheld the fundamental Constitutional right to privacy. It is none of his business.

Interesting study, glenn. I think that in the current political arena there is a pervasive and calculated maneuvering by the right wing to fulfill both extremist as well as corporative agendas first before actually legislating for the citizens of this nation.

With 29 states having GOP governors and 27 states having GOP controlled legislations, the right wing legislative actions have deteriorated to often absurd and indeed, even detrimental state laws like this gun law. On the federal level, there is the do nothing and obstruct approach except when meeting those agendas.

When looking at gun laws, I found a reminder of this inaction. On April 18, 2013 the US Senate failed to pass a bill that included measures to reduce the incidence of gun violence. Over a year later, there has been no further federal legislation to decrease gun violence.

Originally I am from western NY, now I am in western PA. There have been significant negative changes in my state as well under Governor Corbett and our GOP controlled legislature. However, there will be a backlash at the election polls. The most recent approval rating for Corbett is 23% – he will not be returning for a second term. Although the right wing tries to avoid consequences, they will not remain in power with their legislative track record.

Hi there, glenn – Nice to meet you! Still finding my way around the Planet, noticed your comment. Thanks for the links, this new gun law lacks any common sense. It will only increase the risk of injuries and/or fatalities from gun violence incidents.
Fringe extremists have abused their legislative power. I am not sure which is more frustrating – the excessive legislation against women’s rights or the utter lack of legislation for measures that would reduce the incidence of gun violence.
Both are equally despicable!
