Thanks, Fergie1 – glad you enjoyed this song! My apologies and to finally answer your question, I am in western PA. I am originally from western NY about an hour east of Buffalo, went through there many times on the way to Niagara Falls. That must have been an adventure for you to leave Ireland at the age of 10!

How was the Boarding school in England? It must have been quite a change to go to San Francisco, so different from both England and western NY. I finally got to CA in 2010 when we went to visit my older daughter who lives in San Diego. I stepped into the Pacific Ocean for the first time, too cold to swim! But I fell in love with CA! It was -1 degree when we left PA and 76 degrees in sunny CA.

I cannot imagine having to stay in Australia for so long. Do you get any kind of a winter there? – You never know where jobs may take you, I have also lived in Texas for just one year and in northern VA for 18 years. I still miss the monuments and museums in Washington, D.C. Do you know when you might be able to move back to the States? (Or wherever!)

Hi, Nirek – Great article, thanks for more information on fracking. The adverse effects of geological damage to underground structures needs to be repeated often! There are too many unknowns with fracking yet still the corporations keep drilling to increase profits.

I am also concerned about the unknown chemicals used with the fracking processes. The long term adverse effects from these chemicals to both people and the environment remain unknown. The current studies are denigrated by oil companies. – To deny and ignore these adverse consequences is criminal.

I have watched as the scenic western PA countryside around me has been diminished by the tall structures of drills. As I drive down the roads in my township – these drills are in fields, next to barns and even close to the roadsides. They are a constant reminder of corporative greed. Many towns in the area tried to fight the fracking but so-called geological experts from the oil companies refuted other studies, claiming that “their” studies proved the safety of fracking.
Such blatant deception!

No earthquakes in my local area so far, keeping fingers crossed. – P.S. The Sorry video did not open for me but it may have just been a glitch with my computer. – Hope your day goes well. 🙂

Weekend Music Thread – Groovin’ on a Sunday Afternoon

Hi, Fergie1 – Sorry to be so late getting back to you. This is my #2 favorite oldie after Aquarius! 😉 You must have some incredible memories from that time. I was in college from 1971-1975 in western PA, not anywhere near CA! Yet this song on the radio from the late sixties touched the hearts of all of us – “all across the nation . . there’s a whole generation.”

I finally got to CA in 2010 to visit my daughter who lives there. – As I stepped out of the San Diego airport into the 76 degree sunshine (it was -1 degree when we left PA) and saw the palm trees and blue skies, I immediately fell in love with CA!! – Hope your day/evening goes well. 🙂
