For those wishing to write a letter in support of the Islamic Group, I have sent the address of where to send it to AdLib and he can pass it along. I’ll also give him the name of the organizer (forgot to do so).

The young man I spoke with at the HQ was so touched by your responses; he is putting PlanetPOV up so all can see that there ARE good folks who DO support them.

Do it; you’ll feel you did something positive to counter the negative.

OK one more and I’ve GOT to go! The only instance in the Bible (for those who choose that faith path) where Jesus got really pissed was at the Temple with the moneychangers. The ONE thing I’m pretty sure of is that Jesus does not like hypocrites. Funny how often that gets overlooked….

Let me think about the letter. It might be easier/more timely for each of us to write a short note than draft some meaningful tome that takes too long to get there. Time is of the essence; the wounds are fresh. But we can identify ourselves in our letters, and say we are friends because of the Planet. Invite them on board! thoughts????

I belonged to a wonderful group here in San Antonio called the Tri-Faith Dialogue. It’s where I “met” my first Muslims (at least I knew they were Muslim), and where I became friends with Imam Ali, my dear friend/brother. I also was very close with the Jewish woman who started the organization. We had monthly meetings to discuss the similarities in our faiths – even had pagans, Hindus and humanists join in. It fell apart due to ONE destructive, negative force. But the relationships continue.

Maybe the Planet – in all its diverse locations – could start similar chapters where they live?

I just am the type that can’t just let the hate fill me up. I push back. It’s why I started working with those children, and they are the best thing I’ve ever had happen in my life.

It’s fear that breeds hate,and it’s ignorance that breeds fear.

We have a FAB garden center – The Antique Rose Emporium -near here. I’ll go get one. I have Souvenior, and Something Anne that have similar colors and tons of fragrance. Old World Roses – the best!

Mighty K – ignorance IS painful, just not for the ignorant. It’s the innocents who suffer.

Maybe we should do a letter of apology on behalf of these idiots and mail it to them? Anyone else interested? Just an “I’m sorry that there are asshats like this in my country. Please accept my apology for their bad behavior.”

I absolutely hate this. It is why, this past year on 9/11, we went to my friend (Imam Ali’s) masjid, to stand shoulder to shoulder with people who have every right to be here. The gratitude they showed us still makes me tear up as I type; just being there, with them, meant so much.

I’m not fighting Pam Geller’s fight for her.

When you hear of stuff like this, get up from your computer and go stand in support of these people. it’s the one thing you can do.

Shame on these wads.

May is starting the “hot as hell” season in full force, so be prepared.

I’m assuming it’s business: you are with a group? In a hotel? Let me know where. I can make suggestions if needed.

San Antonio is the “ugly stepchild” to Austin’s beauty and hipness. But I love San Antonio, and would love to show you why. It’s a different kind of beauty and cool (well, not temperature wise).

I’ll write up a list of must dos/should dos to keep you occupied. I’ll send it via email so as not to occupy Planet space.

This is GREAT news!!! Let me know when in May. Pup and I may take a small trip out west toward months end (can wait until June 1st); I might be gone in Santa Fe the first week on May.

@HH – Yeppers, Corpus Christi. And now you have given the Pup nightmares after viewing the Stubbies ad! sssshhhheeeeessshhhhh – Now I’ll need to spend tomorrow explaining exactly what a mullet is and why some people thought them to be fashionable (True Confession: I had a mullet also at one point). Well, there goes another day and the “Myth of America” down the tube – the You Tube that is.

2CCP: Have you ever read any of the books by Daniel Helminiak? check him out at visionsofdaniel.net He was a priest and a gay man. He wrote a book “What the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality” that we discussed in my SS class (“Contemporary Christian” was the official printed name; we called it “The Heretics Class”). ooohhhh…….I keep wanting to start a book club here but can’t find the time……..

Hush! I’m serious. You know how I feel about those kids – it’s them and their families who are truly remarkable ones. They are MY heroes.

As to a Planetary Nobel – I’m getting the pink MB mug so I can have coffee w/ the delightful Ms. K each day. Better than some other award. And I’d give it to you, for the care and love you give to your patients – so there, Missy!

Amen, kes! I’m not Catholic, never went to a Catholic school (but I did envy the cute plaid skirts), but I have known and been friends with some of the Sisters of Incarnate Word for years now. I used to assist with their fundraiser for a transitional housing project for homeless girls and their children, whether the cause of homelessness be domestic violence, drugs/alcohol, or neglect. It was a successful program and I grew to love the nuns. In fact, they asked me to join the order as an associate (pretty awesome for a born Lutheran practicing Methodist at the time). After I had a terrifying vision (yes, not a dream but an honest vision) of what Cheney could and would do to this country, I went and sat with Sister Yolanda to pray and talk. (Yolanda is now Mother Superior, and I need to call her to go grab a burger soon.) So I give all the Srs. I have known big kudos. “The nuns do all the work, and the Pope takes all the credit”, I used to tell them.

Thanks for reminding us what good stewardship of this Planet is all about.

I agree, KQuark. You and I had many discussions on this in the past. The army is likely worse than we can imagine, from hearing of the Pup’s personal experiences. It’s why he’s here NOW and why I was willing to go to any lengths to extract him. I have one student left to find an educational opportunity (read: scholarship) for, and ALL of my kids who finished the program will be back and in school here.

BTW; The most “challenging” of my kids – the one who drove me crazy during his HS year -is back and excelling at college. He is probably the MOST successful of the bunch, and I could not be more proud of him!

and right after the compliments on brains – SHEESH! I had had a particularly hard day, if that matters. It shouldn’t because Timmy RussERT was one of my favorites. No wonder to me that he had been a litigation attorney in a previous life. He always framed the questions PERFECTLY and always went back to “But in blah blah you said…….” or “Again, you stated blah blah”. Three times he would repeat crucial questions, leaving them to twist in the wind, then move on. Left no doubt as to what they really believed. Brilliant.

I was walking into my gym when he died and I saw it on the big screen TV in the lobby (usually on FOX). I burst out crying and ran into the locker room. Only time I actually RAN in the gym….

Please keep us updated. I have a very dear friend there on tour; I’ve posted his music videos here several times. He and his wife (my dearest friend) were due in Christchurch on 3/5. I think they are headed to Auckland first, Wellington, points around NZ and Australia.

Let’s chat about a book club – even if it’s just you and me. I have several friends that I trust to recommend good books. Others – who may be a BEST friend – and I seem to have very different reading tastes. But I love reading, and I bet Khirad could recommend a few eye poppers for us.
