I would probably be more of a “Chicken Little” type, to be honest; but calm souls have been known to soothe mine. Your beloved kitties are indeed both lucky and loved. Have they seemed to notice any stress? I’m always so curious about animal behavior before big events – like earthquakes. Phenomenal. Saw somewhere else that cat food with soya sauce seemed just fine for you. Dry or wet? Fish or chicken? (Just hoping to make you smile…..) Try and get some sleep, and know that we love you. – AB » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 17, 2011 @ 7:15 am WTS: If there is a ferret airfare special, she can come here. I will care for her and tend her until you can come get her. I will sing her to sleep each night and kiss her awake in the morning. And I’m not even sure I really love ferrets (yet). Whatever I CAN do, I stand ready TO do. Just let me know. I went to a most beautiful, peaceful and serene spot today w/ two of my kids – Pup and Poosha. I sat on a limestone ridge, looking at a crystal clear river. I watched spring beginning in the trees, and listened to the wrens and cardinals sing their songs. And I thought of you and my dear Kalima, and wished you were both sitting there with me. I asked God and Mother Nature both to be kind and gentle, as I was witnessing them, and to let what was in my eyes and ears and heart reach out to you both. I cried a little, then stood up and screamed at the kids as they tried their hands at canoeing and got FAR too close to the dam for my comfort. Just on edge, I guess. I would give anything I own to have had you both there with me, and I want you to know that. Keeping you in my prayers and thoughts all the time. – AB » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 16, 2011 @ 8:19 pm to which the proper response is: “and you’d damn well better sleep with one eye open…..IF you can sleep at all!” Too funny. Texas gals, eh? » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 13, 2011 @ 9:20 pm Done, WTS. Now stay safe and write some more. The kids and I need you. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 13, 2011 @ 9:10 pm This brought back memories for me! I remember laughing until I was crying, watching my daddy laugh at a Candid Camera show where they had money on a sidewalk, and when men would bend down to pick it up, they would tear a windowshade, which sounded just like pants ripping. I never remember my dad laughing so hard (or me shrieking in delight watching him – I was about 7 years old at the time). Thanks. Now I can go to sleep. Laugher always helps. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 13, 2011 @ 9:09 pm Again, I seem to echo Cher. With your permission (or perhaps even without it), I want to print this and pray this each night of my life. Thank you for this; I promise to share it with my “kids”. We’ll all be keeping you, Kalima and everyone in our prayers. – AB » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 13, 2011 @ 8:39 pm BIG wishes and prayers for you, WTS, and everyone else. Tell us what we can do, after everything settles down. I’m so glad you are OK. Willing to help however I can – probably speak for many. With lots of love (and without reading anything but the fact you are OK) – AB » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 11, 2011 @ 5:08 am Hiya Kes. Just think of him as “Poot” Gingrich. You remember him sitting next to you in third grade – we all had one. It’s the only way I can see his fatass face and not barf. Mr. Poot. Pooty Pootwell (from Sweet Potato Queens) » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 7, 2011 @ 5:41 pm Oh good Lord. I’m swearing off vertical stripes from now on! Too funny, Cher. Remember the 80s and leg warmers w/ leotards? Same ineffective theory. They never made your thighs or butt look thinner. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 7, 2011 @ 5:36 pm That’s great news, KB. I’m sure you are BOTH very happy. Me too, for you. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 7, 2011 @ 12:35 pm Look at his cheeks, Cher. The Becky obviously has an experienced an Oreo addiction. Not nice to make fun of….oh who am I kidding? » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 5, 2011 @ 7:52 pm uh – kes – the title is NOT “Charlie Sheen Grew Tired of Us”. As far as I know, he is still with his “goddesses” but he may grow tired of them by Wednesday. Goddesses: Is that word a Sheenism for “Skank and Ho”? » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 5, 2011 @ 7:33 pm Smooch to you Kes. Yep, it just makes me feel better, and it’s all about ME, isn’t it?????? I just watched God Grew Tired of Us. Amazing. And I had never seen it before I wanted to work with refugees. It was a hard one for the Pup to watch; too many similarities. Both the Pup and the MO Girl were amazed when they learned about the horrors of Sudan. I remember the MO Girl, in 2006, going with the Blov and me to a seminar on Darfur. She turned to me and said, “Wow. And I always thought we were the only ones who had such troubles. Now I feel lucky to have been born in Afghanistan instead of Sudan.” Sometimes, I think, when we get mired down into our own “stories” we fail to see beyond our own little circle to what is surely a much bigger picture. I’m making that movie mandatory watching for all volunteer families, if and when we get funded/get our IRS status. It’s taking friggin’ forever!!! And there are families out there who need a friend – nothing more, just an American family to be a friend and help them navigate a strange new culture. NOTE: I’m assuming you’ve already seen this, kes. If not, you must do so. It’s your homework assignment on Netflix. Thanks, kes. I’ll send you my letter in email. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 5, 2011 @ 7:14 pm Dear Bits! I’ve had many of those bottles in my younger days (when I had even more energy). I’ve offered our new Hot Chocolate Party a few Herradura Anejos if he ever makes it up here. Don’t worry about emails, dear one. It’s good enough to see you here. I don’t know what I would do without the Pup, now. He is my heart and soul. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 5, 2011 @ 7:08 pm Wrote the letter yesterday. Thanks again, K man for weighing in on the speakers. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 5, 2011 @ 7:05 pm 8 to 1. I like your odds, mister. Hey dear friend! So very good to see you. You are ALWAYS missed – must be nice to have so many Fans O’Bito. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 5, 2011 @ 4:02 pm I didn’t know it took 192,000 people this month to keep his cocktail glass filled with ice! » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 4, 2011 @ 10:48 am BITO!!!!!! Now all is right in the world. TOOT (and the “tooters”) have been active and busy. See what you started, dear friend? Screw the Republicans. Here’s a hug for you » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 4, 2011 @ 4:56 am I can always count on you, Khirad. Writing the letter this morning. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 4, 2011 @ 4:51 am Thanks, Khirad. This guy cracks me up. I laugh at him, and then go back to read one of Reza Aslan’s books. Sheesh. And Fox takes the bait every time! » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 4, 2011 @ 4:49 am I KNEW someone would help. Kes, great minds think alike and I went to sleep singing Tro Lo Lo! Never a more restful night. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 4, 2011 @ 4:47 am Oh,you’ll get the call alright Missy!! Around 2AM CST. Night! » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 3, 2011 @ 7:57 pm Did you see The Party w/ Peter Sellers? One of my favorites, and Claudine with her breathy little number….. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 3, 2011 @ 7:55 pm QUICK – I have to go to bed in the next 10 minutes and I’m totally F*d up with Kenny G and the Lennon (no relation to John) sisters. Someone post something pleasurable PUHLEASE or I will have nightmares…… » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 3, 2011 @ 7:47 pm Pretty damn white there Kes. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 3, 2011 @ 7:44 pm Good Lord. That was a tragic mistake for Seattle, eh? Kurt Cobain and Kenny G. Go figure. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 3, 2011 @ 7:42 pm mmmm-whah (screen kiss) to you Cher. » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 3, 2011 @ 7:39 pm BOOMER! The Blov grew up on LW. I was at a big music festival once in Telluride, sitting behind Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt, and beside Larry Welk (Lawrence’s son). Guess which one made the Blov totally jealous that he wasn’t with me? I also got to ride the train once from Seattle to LA with Bobby’s (of Bobby and Sissy??) mom. Another moment of envy for the Blovicator. Thanks God (as my Afghans would say) that my family was not LW folk. Although Bob loved Mitch Miller, and would embarrass me no end dancing to Wooly Bully by Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs. (He also took me to see Fats Domino, for which I am still grateful) I KNEW we were sisters! » Posted By AlphaBitch On March 3, 2011 @ 7:37 pm hey guys – quick update on the Islamic Circle of NA situation. I did some small research. They had two fairly controversial speakers at the event, one (Siraj Wahhaj)suspected of having some connection with the 93 bombing of the WTC though never charged, and another one (Amir Abdel Malik Ali) who spoke at an Israeli Apartheid gathering. While he was there, he said that he supported Hezbollah. That being said, I still plan on writing them to tell them that I am sorry for the hatred spewed at them. I will, in all likelihood, also mention that they may wish to stay away from those more controversial figures in the future, as it only tends to raise suspicions in everyone’s minds and to fan the flames of hatred even hotter. So if you still choose to write, please contact the Admin. He has the address and name for you. I just want us all to make informed decisions. If you choose not to write, that’s OK. You can always find a group in your area and get involved there. We have several masjids where I live; I will only visit one or two, but I feel very loved and welcomed at the ones I “know”.
