You could of course have a translation at the bottom. But you could see what people were truly saying on their news reports without the filters found on ours (Koch sucking Fox news people). It is ALWAYS a party here! Last night, we had the three students (who are now new Planetarians – some of them will be diligent in blogging, others not so much) AND the Family (the two oldest sons in the refugee family PLUS the precious little seven year old girl who had INSISTED she come with her brothers, and had to resort to tears to get them to bring her). So a party of six, with the Blov and me hosting. Heated political discussions as to the US motivation, etc. in their homeland, but all in all fun. I mainly hung out with the little one, and we drove to look at Christmas lights (“cuz Jesus people put up lights and trees and buy presents”). Like any 7 year old, there was intense interest on the presents, much to the chagrin and admonitions of her older brothers. Didn’t bother life long “Jesus person” at all! As we drove through Poosha’s college campus, which is decorated with about 300,000 lights (no kidding), the little one exclaimed “I am just going to die! You are killing me!” When I asked how and why, it was from sheer happiness. She chattered non-stop, and Poosha and I laughed so hard, all the while stifling the laughter. A good time. I know the children will be safe and welcome here. I’m still trying to work it out so some of them can do a Vox Populi – will try my hardest, but it might not happen until after the holidays, being the two Fridays everyone is “here” are Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and most families want THEIR kids with THEM (I’ll have the MO Girl and Alpha Pup). Oh yeah – and we formed a new country for them – Yesistan, where all things are possible. Poosha was elected President by Alpha Pup, Babygirl is VP, and Alpha Pup is Secretary of State. I’m thinking of moving there…….I hear it’s lovely. I’ve got to go clean MY tribe’s quarters (we have a 400 sq. ft. screened in porch, overlooking our wildscaped yard and pond. It cost us $20K to build about 15 years ago. We call it “Catland”. My kitties are indoor ones w/ the best of both worlds. The birds are safe from them this way; it didn’t seem fair to design a yard to entice wildlife, and then to unleash the kittehs on the wildlife.
