Live Blog: Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest, The GOP Tea Party Debate

For real? Rick Perry said “And I can do the math! Half of zero is…..zero” Good Lord! Jethro Bodine, take two. “Naught from naught is…..naught” I can just imagine Jethro Perry counting on those fingers and toes…..

Morning Blog

Hi K: I did almost ALL of those 50 things, and still do #s 3 & 36. We had a barred owl nearby and I nicknamed him “Hootie” (clever, I know). I would stand on my porch or in my bathroom with the window open and call to him, and he would answer. This, mind you, was recently. Hootie did not like the Blov much, but would come and peek at me from the big oak tree – I could see him well in winter. The Blov could see him if he was very quiet and very still. It’s something I will treasure always.

So much of that list – finding treasures on the beach sticks out – are still things that give me great joy, and I hope always will. Thanks for sharing. – AB

Hey co-queen! He is risen. I am referring of course to the Blov. My BFF is here from Nashville and we are making migas, and of course (being we are followers of Jesus) BACON!!!! A whole pound of it! Have you ever broiled bacon? Instead of frying? Less fat, just as tasty.

Of course, we will not eat the whole pound -at least not at one sitting – but still. MMMMMMMM…..

Happy Easter, Kalima! At least western time. Just popped in to wish you that. Haven’t had much of a chance to catch up but I have all week off now to do so and I can’t wait. See you tomorrow. And watch out, Kes – I’m jumping back into Trivia Games.

Hi K: Know that the Welsh are in my prayers today – already said one and will pray “without stopping” throughout the day. Also for you, as I know how worried you must be.

Off to work. I’m getting fairly good at this lollygagging.

Oh yeah – I would have guessed same as Kes (and actually did) yesterday, but was @ the job and could not weigh in. Half a crown???

Let us know how the Welshman does. My dad, who was stationed in Wales during WWII, fell so in love with the place. I found out -long after both he and my mother had passed, from my mom’s best friend – that he had also fallen in love with a woman while stationed there. Even though it’s always a shock to hear such things, I wish now I could have asked him about it and listened non-judgmentally. Sigh. That’s what happens. Just when we attain enough maturity to handle things like the prospect of our parents having had an affair, we can’t ask about it. Pity.

GOOD morning, Kalima. If you’ve checked VOX, you see that -YES – we are THROUGH and have sold the one house, and can now lollygag at the new one. Went and bought a big TV and patio furniture to celebrate; all remaining proceeds pay off bills.

NOW I have time to catch up with friends – face time, phone time and Planet time. Hurrah!

Sad to say – don’t know which of these words is not love. I’ll go with the Arbre, cuz it sounds like the place you get roast beef sandwiches. How’s that for astute principles of deduction?

Off with the Blov to hike our nature trails. Back later. – AB

HEY! I guessed the same three lower ones. But if we do shot in the dark, I’ll go with Tasmania, just because it never gets any play in the news. How’s that? (not that I’d have time to actually read the news, but soon….)

Uh huh, uh huh – I won! I’m a Queen, TOO! Hooray for me.

I have no idea for today’s trivia, so I bow to Kes.

Wish you had seen the Welshman; let me know when you do, and kiss your screen on the top of his head for me. 90 – that is something! My “pretend Daddy” (my “illegitimate” momma’s BOYFRIEND) is also 90, and what a character! I will email you a photo of the two of them, a few years ago (not many), sitting and holding hands and drinking wine on Thanksgiving. what a hoot, and what a role model!

My dear friend is going to see her Aunt Lucy on the Mississippi coast, and wants us to have some Sistergirl time somewhere. I’m in. I’m done being mover, maid, cook, impatient for the little one to fly mother, wife, assistant, -EVERYTHING – but Co-Queen of Trivia. I quit it all.

Hey – is that where Co-Q comes from? Me and Kes?? How cool is THAT?

Heard from the Syrian again today; breathing easier and counting days. Scholarships can’t come soon enough. Let’s hope all goes well. Talk about a PAR-TEE!!!!!!!!!!!! And all for someone who actually values education……

Love to all. Busy for the next few, then catching my breath and lollygagging around. Hope to Vox on the 23rd; we’ll see if I made it!

GOOD morning, K! And I mean that for four reasons:

1) You got to Skype your favorite Welshman, even if he napped off! Still, to see his face…

2) The newest quakes did NOT win this time. Go Japan!

3) I heard from my “daughter” in Syria, and all is well. Inshallah, she will be here this summer on the Fulbright and I can quit sweating.

4) I KNOW the answer to today’s trivia question: JAVA.

I know because I once processed coprolytes from HE when working in the Anthro Dept at Texas A&M; because my friend, Bwana Dik, told me about the origin of HE when we went to Bob’s JAVA JIVE in Tacoma, WA (wow, that was a trip in and of itself – any norwesterners been there in the heyday?), AND he went to Java a few years ago and reminded me of it. So I win!! Queen for the Day and sure of herself. Go me!

Off to clean. One week and counting. I can see the finish line, and am starting to get the second wind……………

Much love to you, K. Thanks for always having something interesting for me to read. – AB

PS Carrot cake….yum. Maybe with a side o’bacon????? (For St. Paddy’s day)

And now I blush. I did rely on your words, and your truth. I remember once you stated how afraid you were, it was raining and there was concern about radiation in the rain, yet you would go out to feed your outside tribe. How lucky they are to be in the tribe of Karing Kalima!

Things go well here. Rough for about 11 more days, then hopefully it is done.

We found the source of a horrid smell in our home….don’t ask. Let’s just say that the image that sticks with me is of the Pup. I opened the door to the “room of doom” after running after strong cleaning supplies. There the Pup stood, all decked out in jeans and a hoodie. What set it apart was the improvised “gas mask” he had created with about half a roll of paper towels, a la Taliban Kandahari style, and the improvised gloves made of the green Ever Fresh bags to keep fruit longer lasting. He looked like HazMat gone cah-razy!!!!! I laughed, until I realized I was inhaling more than I wanted of some pretty foul molecules. Thank God we found the “victim” and removed the evidence before the cleaning crew arrives on Tuesday – I would have been positively mortified!

Such is life in Texas. CSI’m tired of this shit. – AB

And thank you, K, for always giving us an up close look at what will surely rank as the greatest natural disaster of all time. I try to remember to offer prayers to God, to help those struggling and to ease the pain of those who have lost so much. But mostly, I give thanks for allowing us all to get to “see” what happened, through your eyes and words and always informative work. You are a treasure to us all. Amen. – AB

I pick Fresno, without a clue.

Hey K! Almost done – another week or so, then cleaning old place, working in gardens for last time, and arranging for garage sale. Yippee!!!!

Love, love, love the new place.

Since it IS Leap Year, and we have a whacky tradition of females popping the question (albeit to males only, but HEY! the times, they are a changin’) – will you be my Planetary Partner????? You may reply by email, and no one will be the wiser……..

Miss you all tons, and hope to be here soon! – AB

K: Read the article about the man in the car, but no mention of Cheetos – what gives? However, DID find the link on THAT site to The Daily Cat. The Blov wants to know what type of “gifting” it is when your cat says “I love you” by depositing “tootsie rolls” in odd places. Please advise. – AB

» Posted By AlphaBitch On February 20, 2012 @ 5:51 am

Thank you, K! One of my favorites.

The Blov bought me a KING SIZED tempurpedic bed for our 30th! Who-ha!

We decided to move THIS weekend – sleeping on the new bed Friday so no vox para me.

Now to go buy some new sheets and bedding…..

BIG hug and kiss. Come sit in my spa home. that’s what I’m calling it. My spa home. Total relaxation. Ahhhhhhhhh……

Kes – you here? I’m guessing VA or WVA. Just to be conTRARY (I don’t like it pronounced CONtrary). Just to be conTRARY.

» Posted By AlphaBitch On February 19, 2012 @ 9:27 pm

Morning Ms. K and Queen Kes. It’s my five minutes to myself break, and I popped into MB to check headlines (all I’ve time for these days).

The one that grabbed attention was man surviving for months in a car – huh? What amount of Cheetos must one stash in the auto to survive? I mean, snow melt would get you liquid, but we all know Cheetos to be the road food of the brave.

Have a great weekend. We are targeting final move day for 3/10, so two weeks after that, life should begin to be “normal”. Hurrah!

» Posted By AlphaBitch On February 19, 2012 @ 7:19 am

Just to stay in the competition, even though I freely admit I have NO clue – I’ll take Leno for $100 please……..

Although instinct was to guess more obscure, like Arsenio Hall.

AARGGHHH! I surrender to Queen Kes!

» Posted By AlphaBitch On February 16, 2012 @ 7:15 am

HA! You are too funny, Kalima. Well, just to let you know – I’m the Secretary of “Look at the state of TWO houses”. No clue as how to turn that talent into cash – or even Smarties!

I’ve warned the troops that as the ALPHA bitch, I tend to get a bit bossy. I will likely be the general killed by her own troops. But things are getting done and progressing nicely.

So perhaps someday our respective Dear Leaders will arrange for us to meet. Davos? Rio? Who knows where on the Planet we might land.

See ya, fellow diplo!

AB says “YUM” Kalima – can you make it a bacon crown????? Bitches loves them some bacon now……..

» Posted By AlphaBitch On February 16, 2012 @ 6:53 am

Ah, yes indeed. A classic look for a classy gal.

» Posted By AlphaBitch On February 15, 2012 @ 7:03 pm

Let me guess: turmeric? I use it when I cook rice sometimes, and it turns everything that beautiful yellow.

And Kalima, you are SUCH a good peacemaker! Can you ask AdLib if you can become Secretary of his State????

» Posted By AlphaBitch On February 15, 2012 @ 6:31 am

Hon – where did you get that unfortunate trash can that landed on your head??? Not to mention the SGK ribbon stretched across your breastes.

Are you secretly Callista’s sister????

OK, now you SEE what happens with a wand cross of an Alpha Bitch.

AND BTW: I think you stole this photo. You – I know – are much, much prettier and with just a hint of tiara. You ARE Queen Kes!! Long live the Queen!!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day, Planet People! And to go against the grain on the trivia quiz: A $5 bill with his photo on it? (JK)

I just had to “challenge” that super star of Trivia, Ms. Kesmarn herself.

Have a great evening, and thanks for having lots of fun stuff to look at. Always a pleasure…

25%?

» Posted By AlphaBitch On February 10, 2012 @ 6:49 am

I admire both you and Caru. However, if one listens to Rick Perry, who is a font of knowledge, Texas is doing sooooooooo much better, so my guess will be Rick Perry’s Wonderland.

(Kidding of course. If there were even a smidgeon of a chance this was true, we’d have it tattooed on our foreheads!)

Levis. It’s almost ALL I own insofar as clothing. That and PJs.

» Posted By AlphaBitch On February 8, 2012 @ 11:21 am

Hi Kalima: Quick pop in (not even glancing above at todays MB) to say thanks – AGAIN – for keeping us all posted.

As to skunks – it’s odd, but dead skunks in the middle of the road, having baked for a day or two in hot Texas sun, smell oddly a LITTLE bit like coffee, from far away. I decided to get a pet skunk to guard my as yet unacquired Airstream, and name him “Folgers” in honor of this odd phenomenon. Anyone else ever experience the “far away skunk – smells like coffee”?

Cheers to all. I care about the poor, and I approve this message! – AB

Somebody loves me…..

And I know the answer to the trivia question. It’s “far enough to hit two Shelties belonging to one AlphaBitch and hit them both with enough juice to stink up the house for days”. Of course, that was years ago. Things might have changed……

Our floors are finished, and we have seven showings of our current home this week. I think I’m close……..

» Posted By AlphaBitch On February 1, 2012 @ 7:10 pm

Ok, I guess 85. Or 93. Am I allowed TWO guesses??

Stay warm and snuggled with some “purr therapists” for company. Off to work. Things progressing very nicely on both home fronts – will send email soon.

Can’t read anything today – too late of a start! But thank you for providing, and I’ll peek in before the SOTU experience. – AB

Hi K. Checking in after dropping the Blov off for an early morning flight to Seattle.

So many sad stories about Palestine. Did you hear that GRINCHRING’s biggest donor is the Zionist Adelsohn (sp), who has given tens of millions to Israel and who opposes all peace talks with the Palestinians? Fits right in with Nuttyahoo, if you ask me. So no surprise that Newt called Palestinians made up people last month, huh?

What a piece of crap.

I’m going to try and get the news and the Newts outta my head and catch a few winks before today sets off.

It’s in the high 70s here – won’t you come have a cup of tea with me? We can sit on the porch, and watch the birds come out and the bluebonnets come up. – AB
