Displaying 931 To 960 Of 2,240 Comments Good one, chief – “How Republican can you get?” I see a new dance craze, like the limbo – How Low Can You Go??? How Republican Can You Get? I’ll ask Matthew McConaghey if he can play bongos. I’ll twirl my baton. -AB » Posted By AlphaBitch On February 11, 2012 @ 7:07 pm Me too, Khirad. I also wrote and called the WH to ask the same question. Two points: 1) If you are a “religious institution” – but you take public monies from citizens NOT of your faith (ie schools and hospitals) – WHY aren’t you subject to civil not religious law? 2) If a masjid/mosque opens schools/clinics and accepts non-Islamic paying participants, can they then demand enforcement of their religious beliefs insofar as Shari’a? If you serve the public, civil rules apply, not religious. Period. I think everyone needs to PUSH BACK with this message. It has struck a chord among the “religious freedom fighters” I’ve spoken with in the past couple of days. Seems the only thing that “trumps” hatred of Obama is fear of shari’a. » Posted By AlphaBitch On February 10, 2012 @ 8:09 am Kes: I’m sure it helped them greatly to have suction cups on their shoes. I once tried salsa dancing while treadmilling (listening to my sancho, Raul Malo) and fell, hurt my shoulder AND got a nah-sty abrasion/bruise/infection on my face. So I know there’s cups on them thar shoes. Miss you, kesmarn! Will catch up w/ all soon. » Posted By AlphaBitch On February 9, 2012 @ 6:11 am Free brownies. BTW: I love Boulder. Spent a LOT of time there in the 80s and 90s. McGuckins Hardware. Best ever. » Posted By AlphaBitch On February 9, 2012 @ 6:06 am Back to bacon…I know I only peek in now and then, but the Blov and I celebrated a contract on our home by having bacon this morning! As I shared with him AdLib’s fantasy bacon milkshake, he asked innocently if anyone has proposed “bacon wrapped bacon”. ‘Swhy I love the guy…. » Posted By AlphaBitch On February 9, 2012 @ 6:05 am Well, there’s a whole NEW list of restaurants NOT to frequent! Darn. I like Chili’s and Mac Grill. Too bad, looooooooossssssssssseeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrsssssssssss. » Posted By AlphaBitch On February 1, 2012 @ 1:35 pm Bito! Thank you for exposing this. Pull the covers off and let the light in to kill this vampire! » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 29, 2012 @ 4:02 pm Funk: just got this. Glad all is OK. I’m sure the perp knew the watchful eyes of the Planet were on him. Did the police also find “droppings”???? » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 27, 2012 @ 9:58 am HA! “Noneck-Mother Newt”. Good image, CL. I was listening to the old 70s outlaw song by Ray Wylie Hubbard: “Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mothers” (short, of course, for MoFos) and thinking about the symbolism of re-doing the song for Redneck Christians. Let’s see: C – is for the Christian that you call yourself My own homage to Ray Wylie’s best loved Texas anthem (right after kes’ fave, “Snake Farm”) Here’s the story of the song’s origins, and one of the reasons I DO love Texas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E24C4NY0ga8 And here is song made so popular by Jerry Jeff Walker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOI5H0n28qY Cheers, Poot! Coming to a meeting near you……-AB » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 23, 2012 @ 3:25 am The link to the video of the sad, sad TP rally – for Patsy: http://www.politicususa.com/en/watch-tea-party-die-right-before-our-very-eyes » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 20, 2012 @ 9:02 pm I see a 3 hour Lincoln Douglas style debate between JC and AC shaping up. Hmmmmm…..I wonder who will be asked to moderate? AdLib, perhaps????? » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 20, 2012 @ 3:31 pm FYI and a sad factoid to report: Outback is a huge supporter of the GOP. I quit eating there – oh so reluctantly, and yes, I had the coconut shrimp – because of it. I’ve gone when “family dictated party” type of thing, but only pay in cash. And only once or twice. I used to LOVE to go. Sigh. » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 19, 2012 @ 4:10 pm Patsy: His name is Robert Tilton, and he is – no surprise = from Texas. He was shamed once when they found a whole bunch of letters, that had included a check WITH a prayer request. The checks “miraculously” made it out of the dumpster, but the prayers I guess never got heard. – AB » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 19, 2012 @ 4:06 pm FC: Maybe that serving of “quiet” will be served on a piece of “humble pie”. YUM! » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 17, 2012 @ 3:47 pm Sue: Yeppers, that’s how many people refer to it! It’s Doomus. (Not sure that is better…) I need to time to actually READ the articles. This was my “lollygagging” day – I had to leave three times for them to show our home and have had precious little time in the house, much less on line! But good on the folks of Amarillo. Just met a nice young man from there (a PROGRESSIVE) over Christmas. So maybe “the times, they are a changin'”. -AB » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 16, 2012 @ 2:54 pm Kes: for your smile, today – Amarillo is not far (in Texas terms) from Dumas, Texas. Pronounce it as you like; the Panhandle is full of “those people”. » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 16, 2012 @ 12:03 pm ERP! I love bacon, and I love vodka – but BACON VODKA?? That is just WRONG. Soooooooo wrong. Now I need a drink and a BLT….. » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 16, 2012 @ 12:00 pm …with no sandwich boards needed…. » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 10, 2012 @ 6:45 am AdLib: I’m going White Russian tonight. If I’m gonna puke, I’m gonna make it my old wild woman standard and something I can easily live without for a few years. What type of tequila? My brand (when I have my twice yearly drinks) is Herradura Anejo. Solamente. W/ Cointreau makes a smooth margy. Cheers! » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 7, 2012 @ 5:50 pm Kes: And AdLib SAVES THE DAY!!! This is one of the most fun exercises we do here. I had to go carb load to handle the alcohol. Pup is out with friends, keeping my dirty little secret. He’ll come home to a soused mom, if they only talk values and/or private equity. Can you keep score? Or are you playing? What is/are your words? Choose carefully – enough to have fun, not enough to get alcohol poisoning…. » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 7, 2012 @ 5:48 pm AdLib: If you were watching Faux News Huckster interview of Santorum Napkin, you’d be up two drinks already! Two Romneycares and no Christian Values. Sigh. I’ll be the Bachmann tonight, I guess. » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 7, 2012 @ 5:12 pm Shoot. I need to learn to pay more attention. I RUSHED home, leaving much work left undone and things strewn haphazardly so I could watch the debates and blog w/ you guys. Only I’m on CST. So I’m a couple hours early…….. “Christian values”. Oh my! I guess I’ll just start the party now. I’ll be snockered by the time it actually starts. Thanks, AdLib. I know it’s your nefarious way to keep me too sloshed to count how many times they say “Romneycare” or “Job Creators”. BTW: Dibbs on “Private equity” now, too. – AB » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 7, 2012 @ 4:16 pm Bless his heart. » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 7, 2012 @ 9:20 am And I’ll see YOUR “Job Creators” and raise you an even “Conservative Values”. You see, I’m a “values” drinker! » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 6, 2012 @ 7:13 pm Edit needed. You mean all the alcohol you’ll consume SATURDAY night?? PFFTTT. I laugh at your “Romneycare” and raise you a “Christian values”. PS – The Blov’s word is “experience”. I think he is meaning to get looped. Just as long as he does not confuse Saturday and Sunday….. » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 6, 2012 @ 6:47 pm Hmmmm.. I want to write something vile and nasty here. T-E-M-P-T-I-N-G. Won’t do it. Just think “orifice” and write your own. » Posted By AlphaBitch On January 4, 2012 @ 5:03 pm BOOMER!!!!! So great to see you – I’m the “hit and run” poster these days. We bought a new house and are painting it (some by me, the Blov and the Pup) As to the plates: I believe we can’t stand silent. Still, I was once run off a road into a ditch by some finger shootin’ GOBS (good ole’ boys) in East Texas because I had a sticker that said “It’s a shame when our bombs are smarter than our President”. Scary, but it only made me more resourceful. When I went to parts of the state, I would untape the sticker (taped to INSIDE of windshield) and put it back on in urban areas where I COULD express my opinion. Also happened to me in Roswell, NM. A crowd at the Chili’s gathered outside to point and stare at the sticker. I had dessert and they left. SO nice to see you- now I have to dash. Merry Holidays and welcome home! – AB » Posted By AlphaBitch On December 26, 2011 @ 6:17 am KQ: You used the word appropriately. No pardon is needed. » Posted By AlphaBitch On December 19, 2011 @ 4:41 pm Cher: at the Christmas concert, we listened to “Hanukia”, a song of the sephardic Jews who were living in Spain. I had a Jewish friend make Iftar for the Pup when he first came here. We do try and teach him all sorts of things – like Danny Kaye was gay (or at least bi). I agree on those outfits – I love the red and white ones best. Thanks for the smackeroo – back at ya! Off to sign papers….AB » Posted By AlphaBitch On December 19, 2011 @ 6:32 am Oh, Cher – how absolutely wonderful for that little stocking stuffer (or is it stuffed stocking???). Off to bed – just a quick pop in n out. Have to keep up with the news – and where else would I go?? We made cocoa and watched White Christmas w/ the Pup. Went to a Christmas concert and visited musician friends, had a wonderful time. Without giving one iota of Islam-ism, he enjoyed singing carols (esp. White Christmas) and eating snickerdoodls (pork free ones, of course). Tomorrow I channel Kim when we begin work on the new place. Watch for headline if I am killed by my own ‘troops’ as I can get a bit bossy when under a self-imposed horrific deadline……I’ll be dressed like Kim. Now have to go “bouff” my hair……….xo AB » Posted By AlphaBitch On December 18, 2011 @ 8:42 pmComments Posted By AlphaBitch
