Me too, Khirad. I also wrote and called the WH to ask the same question. Two points:

1) If you are a “religious institution” – but you take public monies from citizens NOT of your faith (ie schools and hospitals) – WHY aren’t you subject to civil not religious law?

2) If a masjid/mosque opens schools/clinics and accepts non-Islamic paying participants, can they then demand enforcement of their religious beliefs insofar as Shari’a? If you serve the public, civil rules apply, not religious. Period.

I think everyone needs to PUSH BACK with this message. It has struck a chord among the “religious freedom fighters” I’ve spoken with in the past couple of days. Seems the only thing that “trumps” hatred of Obama is fear of shari’a.

Kes: I’m sure it helped them greatly to have suction cups on their shoes. I once tried salsa dancing while treadmilling (listening to my sancho, Raul Malo) and fell, hurt my shoulder AND got a nah-sty abrasion/bruise/infection on my face. So I know there’s cups on them thar shoes.

Back to bacon…I know I only peek in now and then, but the Blov and I celebrated a contract on our home by having bacon this morning! As I shared with him AdLib’s fantasy bacon milkshake, he asked innocently if anyone has proposed “bacon wrapped bacon”. ‘Swhy I love the guy….

FYI and a sad factoid to report: Outback is a huge supporter of the GOP. I quit eating there – oh so reluctantly, and yes, I had the coconut shrimp – because of it. I’ve gone when “family dictated party” type of thing, but only pay in cash. And only once or twice. I used to LOVE to go. Sigh.

I need to time to actually READ the articles. This was my “lollygagging” day – I had to leave three times for them to show our home and have had precious little time in the house, much less on line! But good on the folks of Amarillo. Just met a nice young man from there (a PROGRESSIVE) over Christmas. So maybe “the times, they are a changin'”. -AB

I had to go carb load to handle the alcohol. Pup is out with friends, keeping my dirty little secret. He’ll come home to a soused mom, if they only talk values and/or private equity.

BOOMER!!!!! So great to see you – I’m the “hit and run” poster these days. We bought a new house and are painting it (some by me, the Blov and the Pup)

As to the plates: I believe we can’t stand silent. Still, I was once run off a road into a ditch by some finger shootin’ GOBS (good ole’ boys) in East Texas because I had a sticker that said “It’s a shame when our bombs are smarter than our President”. Scary, but it only made me more resourceful. When I went to parts of the state, I would untape the sticker (taped to INSIDE of windshield) and put it back on in urban areas where I COULD express my opinion.

Also happened to me in Roswell, NM. A crowd at the Chili’s gathered outside to point and stare at the sticker. I had dessert and they left.

Cher: at the Christmas concert, we listened to “Hanukia”, a song of the sephardic Jews who were living in Spain. I had a Jewish friend make Iftar for the Pup when he first came here. We do try and teach him all sorts of things – like Danny Kaye was gay (or at least bi).

I agree on those outfits – I love the red and white ones best.

Oh, Cher – how absolutely wonderful for that little stocking stuffer (or is it stuffed stocking???).

Off to bed – just a quick pop in n out. Have to keep up with the news – and where else would I go??

We made cocoa and watched White Christmas w/ the Pup. Went to a Christmas concert and visited musician friends, had a wonderful time. Without giving one iota of Islam-ism, he enjoyed singing carols (esp. White Christmas) and eating snickerdoodls (pork free ones, of course). Tomorrow I channel Kim when we begin work on the new place. Watch for headline if I am killed by my own ‘troops’ as I can get a bit bossy when under a self-imposed horrific deadline……I’ll be dressed like Kim. Now have to go “bouff” my hair……….xo AB
