Wow, Khirad! I once coordinated for the nicest young man from China. As the year drew to a close, and as we had grown very close through the year, I asked him: “Did your parents ever have another baby? Maybe a girl?” His eyes went from Asian to cartoon round. He had never asked – never even considered the possibility.

I sent this to my four beautiful young women.

When you read the book “Half the Sky” – you get it.

FC: I agree! The Blov and I record Chris each weekend morning and sit down with coffee to sip and watch it later. This morning was AMAZING. IF I had a son, I would want him to be Chris! I love his command of the English language, his rapid fire conversation, and his quick and even analysis, while calling BS when it appears (as in yesterday’s segment). His wit and humor have won me over. Good call on your part (as usual).

Bito: sorry to post and run, but it was my birthday – a BIG one -yesterday, and the festivities went on for all day. Two BFF showed up from CO & TN, we made up a new cocktail “The Itchy Monkey” (it has banana liquer in it, of course) and much mirth and merriment.

Hoo hah!

Can’t play tonight – going to a CD release party (Kes: from the Snake Farm guy) and hangin’ with the galpals. “The road goes on forever, and the party never ends” or so it is said by that oracle Robert Earl Keen.

Well, HELLO Queen Kes! I heard my name and perked right up.

I have looked and looked and looked for a song to share with you guys called “That’s the Way the Girls Are in Texas”. About a guy who’s married who falls in love with a young thing at the store where he cashes his check, despite the warnings of his wife that “Baby, I’ll give you the clothes off my back. You can have everything that I’ve got in my shack. But if you ever try to leave, they’ll take you out in a sack, cuz me and my razor will see to that.” With the chorus: That’s the way the girls are in Texas. HIGH larious!!! Moral of the story: He goes to break up with the cupcake, and she looks at him with big eyes and says “Baby, you should have told me you was MARRIED” – right before she pulled out her pistol and shot him right dab between the eyes.”

I know – it loses a lot in translation, but trust me – it’s a crowd pleaser. Especially with the Afghans. Revenge is something they seem to grasp. I remember doing polka party to this song one late night at a gathering of several Afghans and high placed personnel from the placement program (the Grand Poohbah himself was here). The song was played on the stereo system by the Lovely One, the hard headed Pashtun now in Nebraska. I danced with a young man from Paktika ( a VERY rough place). We had a blast. And somehow they seemed to believe it and never challenge the AB.

Sue: You don’t have to “slash” a tire. A simple jab of a sharp object (doesn’t even have to be a knife) into the SIDEWALL (never the tread!) will do it.

Hi Sue – In my way too busy world, I missed the news, so backtracked to find out. I am so sorry! I lost my father in law last January.

I once commented to a healer that the loss of a particular friend had left such a hole in my heart. After a session with her, I realized that the hole was there so that there would be room for more to move in. The whole Planet is in my heart now, and help ease the sting of losing Walter.

Be kind to yourself for a few days. If that means eating bacon or ice cream, do it. Or better yet, a walk in a pretty park with spring coming up everywhere.

Although it pains me to admit it, I have to say that I felt similar relief when Lee Atwater died. Unfortunately, that sprung those like Frank Luntz, Karl Rove, and Andrew Breitbart. A Medusa of hatred.

As has been played in the press of late, just because YOU believe it doesn’t make it true. Mr. Breitbart would have been better served in this life had he been aware of this Seinfeld truism.

Now back to unpacking…….where are those socks?????

Okay, I will rest easier. Although I still think sumpin’s about to happen, in contradiction to wisdom here. Maybe not this theory (which is out there), but something akin to the Osirak reactor circa 1981. I did months of research on that, prolly for Chalabi. I never knew the “client’s” name. All about how the US media covered the story. Read the NY Times, the SF Chron, Chicago Trib, Austin American Statesman, WA Post and CS Monitor every day for articles then summed it up. I tell ya, it was pretty revealing.

Hi Kalima: The saddest thing to me is watching someone not even able to help themselves. No way anyone else can help them, if they won’t even love themselves enough to care. Where is their child these days? I worked w/ Whitney’s cousin (who also sings) for a while. She was a nice woman.
