Election Day Thread – GOP SC Primary and Dem NV Caucus – 2-20-2016

Wow! If this isn’t a convincing argument to end caucuses for good, I don’t know what would be. This is a travesty and invalidates the whole process.

Who would have thought that Debbie Wasserman Schultz would preside over a DNC that would hold such an undemocratic mess of a primary process?

Is she really that self-destructive? To sabotage her candidacy just to win the small number of delegates in NV?

If so, what would that say about her judgment if she became President?

You have to register as a Dem or Repub for caucuses too. As for primaries, some states allow for open primaries, meaning no matter how you’re registered, you can vote for a candidate in any party.

This is exactly why Bernie has the support he does. Americans are angered over establishment politicians corrupting democracy. If this turns out to be true, it will be a major blow to Hillary’s campaign and alienate voters from supporting her in the GE which I don’t want to see.

I hope it’s not true but the truth needs to come out.

Hey Beatlex, I’m not scared of Rubio. He is shallow as a cookie sheet, just a skipping record player and will wholly alienate women and Latinos, supporting women dying in childbirth and deporting Dreamers. He is fatally flawed and America remembers what happened the last time they elected a George Bush type.

PPO, since it’s a caucus, it’s also not an accurate picture of the NV public, the unions control the caucuses. And as you say, it’s such a small fraction of the real voter base. So, it’s the way things are but not as representative as a primary.

Monica, if it’s a brokered convention, their burying Trump could shatter the GOP into a real minority party for many years.

If Trump wins the nom outright, Repubs will be jumping out of windows.

Repub Elite Nicole Wallace is on MSNBC and is sick over Trump winning. She knows, the rest of the GOP Estab knows, Trump will be a train wreck!

PPO, check out my comments to Monica about this. The majority of Repubs, let alone the majority of Americans, are opposed to Trump. He can’t win. Will lose the Latino vote hugely along with women’s vote, blacks, youth…he would be crushed in nearly all swing states.

Trump in the GE could bring a Dem sweep big enough to flip The Senate and The House along with handing the WH to Dems.
