Misapope, we’re very happy to have you and other Yabberz folks joining us here on the launch of our new site. As Murph has shared, the folks who have been here have very similar sensibilities as the folks from Yabberz so I do think there’s a natural fit. The new design had both Planeteers and Yabberz folks in mind, we’re still working on a bit here and there but overall, I think you and other Yabberz folks will come to feel very comfortable here.

Thanks PPO! Very glad you like it and that it’s working so smoothly. Lots of big and little things to discover around the site but at its core, it remains The Planet that you and the rest of the members here have built.

Extortion and blackmail is all Trump knows as “negotiation”, that’s why he’s never made one good deal in the WH (and getting lapdog Repubs to vote his way takes nothing more than rolling up a newspaper and frowning).

That’s the whole thing with having the new site, push all the buttons, hover over them to see what they say, dare it to mess up. I don’t think it will in a major way but I’m still wrestling with lots of little things.

Hey, Trump knows that just a few small NK missiles can’t hurt Japan so much that it will hurt him. With allies like that, who needs nuclear adversaries?

Weekend Music Thread – My Hero

I did too, something weird happened when the post was originally published and the graphic was making the post appear not secure. Now the padlock properly appears beside the URL in my browsers (I checked it on multiple browsers) so the page is secure and the issue is fixed.

Not like I don’t have time to spend fixing technical issues on this site while prepping the new one for launch on Monday…I’ll sleep in June.

I do think the new site will become very comfortable to Planeteers and offer even more ease and functionality than our current site.

This email glitch was exactly the opposite PR of what launching the new site was supposed to do so it is a bit frustrating and I completely understand those who were unhappy about receiving that mistaken batch of emails.

A number of folks have been very kind and understanding and that has helped balance out those who were rightfully displeased. Moving forward now, that’s what we do.

Thanks so much, I’ve enjoyed designing the new site (though not the bugs of course) and as long as our members enjoy it, it will end up so worthwhile.

Thanks back to you, Kalima! I do miss KQuark and Bito and wish they could share our 10th anniversary with us but they will always be a part of The Planet. Tough times and fun times, an historic presidency and an infamous one.

I have been very humbled by the community here at PlanetPOV, the depth of knowledge and conscience, the concern for truth and the wit and sense of humor that’s truly clever. As you say too, all in an environment of free expression and respect (trolls and other unenlightened attackers have been shown the door quickly).

I will toast you with my Morning Blog mug too, you’ve been the best partner and our adventures along with our fellow Planeteers have been so valuable to me.

Oh yeah, fireworks will be arranged, circus acts, a live concert, a chili cook-off and plenty of fried sticks of butter and sushi. An…extravaganza indeed!!!

Happy 10th anniversary (see, I didn’t forget our anniversary…this time)!

Missouri Joins The Club: Legislature Passes Very Restrictive Abortion Bill

Sue, that’s such a central point that I think does a great job in exposing that “pro-life” Republicans are just using this flawed and conditional pro-life campaign as cover for their real agenda.

Pro-life for embryos and fetuses but not pro-life for existing children getting shot in schools or as you say, not for people given the death penalty and not against wars that kill many born and unborn innocents. So if they aren’t really about “pro-life”, why do they pound that drum?

The goal is just power, plain and simple. Trying to give their religious cult power over the people and government, giving men power over women and themselves power over the majority.

Their position is indefensible because it only applies this alleged belief in the way that is most manipulative.

I saw your comment so I didn’t reply to your email since all seemed fine, glad it is and very happy to see you here at The Planet!

The problem with that emailed link is that it came from the test area and the article isn’t available to view. So you did everything right, it’s the glitch in the test site that messed things up.
