And forgive me for not having a link. I saw this on a TV show and don’t know what to Google. There was a woman who is confined to a wheelchair. She needs special help to perform everyday activities. She used to live with her family but now she wants to move out. She’s tired of taking showers outside with a water hose(sad but the family couldn’t afford a handicapped accessible bathroom). Tired of feeling like a burden on her family. So once she got outside nursing help she wanted to move out on her own. She found a great lot too. Good size, able to be build a house she could live in. Paid for the land and all that and went to move in. Well, she was met at her front door by some government people. They informed her that a shitty little bird that hadn’t appeared in that area for decades, had decided to nest in what was now HER backyard. They told her the site was being claimed as a protected area. She still “owned” the land, but now she can’t build anything. Or at least not anything large enough to bother the fucking bird. Like a house. Apparently the birds had made a small comeback there. Even a few nests further down the road. Bu those nests with those endangered birds must not have been that endangered. Wal-Mart bought a lot not too far away from her’s and they were allowed to clear the land. Birds or no birds. It’s good to have kickback money I guess. But this woman doesn’t. And as far as I know she is still watching a fucking meaningless bird enjoy her land where she can’t build a house to live with some dignity. I love animals. But not as much as people. I like the environment. But not as much as civilization.
