That was a very interesting conversation. I did not expect to have an analytical conversation about theology. Color me pleasantly surprised. » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 9:16 pm Kes, No doubt. While I was having this discussion on HP, I was disheartened by the way most posters immediately turned to insulting people of faith. I could never do that without it being a joke. Though I’m not particularly religious myself, I am an avid fan of theology, Western theology in particular, and I am always fascinated by the people involved. » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 9:08 pm bito,It’s not a hypothesis. It can’t be proven or disproved. It was never meant to be. Just one man’s opinion. » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 8:50 pm Kalima, Happy Easter my friend! “Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in spring-time.” ~Martin Luther » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 8:48 pm kalima, My fault. i should have made that clearer. Not any individual person’s definition, just the respective definitions of the 2 phrases. Their definitions. But where did I read these definitions? If that is what you are getting at. well my biggest source for discussion on GOD and free will is A History of GOD by Karen Armstrong. Great book. » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 8:16 pm I love you bito. You never let anything stand as it is. You demand accountability. We need 100 just like you in Washington. » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 7:52 pm KT, There had to have been. When Adam and Eve had Seth, their third son I believe, where did his wife come from?! Had to have come from Eve! Unless Cain and Lilith did start a flock but even still, EW! » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 7:44 pm bito, Their definition. Divine plan states that everything that happens to yo is a part of a divine plan set in motion by GOD at the beginning of time. Everything you do is predetermined. You only have the illusion of free will. Free will dictates that man is master of his own conscience and decides his own destination. If you make a choice in predestination it is not a choice. The answer has already been decided and nothing you do will change it. In free will you make actual choices that set in motion events that have not been determined. GOD removes himself from human life. » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 7:42 pm A:GOD gives man free will A(sub 1):GOD’s gift pisses off the Devil A(sub 2):GOD still retains dominion over all creation C:Man is responsible for all evil in the world » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 7:37 pm KT, most definitely. There are 2 competing sides, Divine plan and free will. They DO NOT coalesce. And Abel never had a wife. Poor guy died a virgin. Cain however is said to have met “Lilith” in the land of Nod and made her his wife. Which is weird, cause other apocryphas label Lilith as Adam’s first wife. there are two different instances of women being created in Genesis. » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 7:25 pm bito, I could explain it in exquisite painstaking detail my friend. I actually have. I once read that the man that makes everything a mountain will only be crushed by it’s weight. » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 7:22 pm Couldn’t get this to post on HP(spit!) during the debate on religion so I’ll throw it up here. It concerned free will and evil. Let’s just say that GOD created the Earth and everything in it.(just go with me here) And one day he created mankind and became smitten with us. On a lark he gives us a soul/free will(pissing off Lucifer, war in Heaven, blah, blah, blah) At that point GOD is out of the equation. Natural disasters aside(and those too are debatable), the evil int he world is put there by man. Unless you believe in a Divine Plan, and predetermination, and/or some power from the Devil over the creation of GOD(which is laughable at best). So whether you believe in GOD or not, you cannot simply ignore evil or leave it up to the graces of a higher power. We are it’s catalyst. » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 5:20 pm Me like…picture…pretty…pretty girls…. » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 5:14 pm Do you think Mr. T pitied fools because he still had reservations about dispensing vigilante justice Or because he lamented the crumbling American public school system? » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 2:27 pm bito, I’m totally with you on Wikipedia. If I’m not sure on something I make sure to find at least 2 other sources verifying it. » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 1:47 pm Interesting, agrippa. I’ll have to check that book out. Thanks. » Posted By ADONAI On April 23, 2011 @ 11:30 am Eeyore’s Birthday Party! How did I never know of this!? Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” Now, Who said this: “Don’t try to be a great man; just be a man, and let history make its own judgments.” A.)George W. Bush B.)Spock C.)Stephen King D.)Zefram Cochrane » Posted By ADONAI On April 22, 2011 @ 12:49 pm What if I just mashed the potatoes? » Posted By ADONAI On April 22, 2011 @ 12:44 pm What Up With That? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELag3LFbVIc The best thing SNL has done in years. If you had told me 5 years ago that Keenan from Keenan & Kel would be my next comedy hero, I would have laughed. Then I probably would have robbed you. It was a tough time. I did…… things. » Posted By ADONAI On April 21, 2011 @ 5:21 pm Khirad, Of course not! HP go crazy?! It’s the most calm measured conversation you could ask for. Seriously though, the day people started posting THEIR ENTIRE FUCKING LIVES online, they lost a bit of that argument about privacy. Yes, it’s “social” media but I know complete strangers far FAR too well now a days. » Posted By ADONAI On April 21, 2011 @ 5:12 pm I gotta have that badge! » Posted By ADONAI On April 21, 2011 @ 2:58 pm Hey M! Good to see you. Totally with you on that! Say, as long as you’re here, why not cruise over to my hilarious article on Glenn Beck and maybe comment…… twice. I figure 50 plus comments should be enough to possibly get an article nominated for a year end award. Also rate it! At least 7. I GOTTA have 7! 🙂 » Posted By ADONAI On April 21, 2011 @ 2:34 pm O.K., this is the big thing on HP(spit!) right now, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/21/al-franken-ed-markey-iphone-tracking_n_852196.html#comments Apparently I-pads and I-phones can trace where yo are at anytime. You know, like most smart phones produced since 2005. But I guess since it’s Apple, people are suspicious. Al Franken thinks it’s serious enough to question Steve Jobs and “demand answers”. It’s a privacy issue. But can that actually be an issue in a country where privacy is a joke? Spend 10 minutes on Facebook and Twitter then make your argument for a nation that “values it’s privacy”. Plus, companies have been keeping records like this on you for A LONG TIME now. The ship has sailed. You’re firing at an empty harbor. » Posted By ADONAI On April 21, 2011 @ 2:07 pm HA! the news is terrible at their job,. » Posted By ADONAI On April 21, 2011 @ 1:29 pm If they’re Evangelicals, they want to install a theocracy. They want religion to dominate classrooms, boardrooms, and the government. And vigilance is the only thing that will counter it. If people think we haven’t lived under pseudo theocratic laws before, they need to reread American history. Some of them still exist. » Posted By ADONAI On April 21, 2011 @ 1:27 pmComments Posted By ADONAI
