Time Out for O/T – Vol. 15

I tried to watch the Republican debates, objectivity and all that, but those people live in an entire differently world.

Except for an occasional comment from Ron Paul, I had to question whether the rest of the candidates were serious or not. And I can’t stand Rick Santorum.

Could you imagine how awful it would be if that racist, xenophobic, homophobic, bigoted, backwards, belligerent, naive, asshole was President?

And is it just me or does everyone on FOX News hate Gary Johnson?(who is Gary Johnson?) Also, did torture get the biggest applause of the night?

Seriously? Nothing?

i thought that was pretty clever.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 4, 2011 @ 7:44 pm

HA! Most definitely.

I saw an interview on CNN with the guy who put together Seal Team 6.

You know when you see a guy and you instantly think, “Please don’t let me ever piss this guy off.”?

He was the physical embodiment of that. A cross between Rasputin and that guy who stabbed 7 Vietnamese soldiers to death with a piece of his tibia.

Seal Team Six is back in the U.S.A.

Welcome home men.

I can’t believe they aren’t going to release Bin Laden’s picture. There goes my next photoshop project:

“Around the World in 80 Pictures with Zombie Bin Laden”.

funk, I made a new name and went back. It’s a lot more fun now that no one knows who I am.

That’s what I miss about music. No one gets stoned anymore and goes off on wild ten minute songs

Cosmic Journeys, Episode 11: Cold Sparks & Black Holes: Cosmic Energy Powers of 10

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lTbQ4nPFjg&feature=BFa&list=SL&index=11

Summary from the video:
“What’s the hottest place in the universe? What’s it like inside a Black Hole? This video climbs the power scales of the universe, from the coldest and bleakest reaches of our galaxy on out to the hottest and most violent places known. How and where do Earth and humanity fit within the immensely powerful scales that define our universe?”

That’s about the same age I first read it too. Instantly fell in love with it. I’ve always had my own image of Smaug in my head, and the animated version was kind of disappointing as far as that goes.

But Jackson did nail the Lord of the Rings in a way I, and many others, never thought possible. Can’t wait for him to bring my favorite dragon to life either.

Peace my friend. But I wanna hear a few of those stories some time.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 3, 2011 @ 8:03 pm

Chase, That’s what she said!

…… wait.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 3, 2011 @ 7:58 pm

I don’t think dragons are cute,I think they’re fucking awesome! But yeah, we do have a lot of cute cuddly dragon characters here.

And SMAUG is the man! Can’t wait to see him on the big screen in the Hobbit movie.

I often take my vorpal sword in hand.

chase, Did Hitchens shoot your dog or something?

» Posted By ADONAI On May 3, 2011 @ 7:35 pm

HOORAYS!!!!!!!!!

» Posted By ADONAI On May 3, 2011 @ 7:30 pm

Hitch is the man.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 3, 2011 @ 7:29 pm

» Posted By ADONAI On May 3, 2011 @ 7:26 pm

bito, Without Todd it is indeed a hard thing to decide!

But I think Hitch is a journalist by any definition. He goes to the places he writes about. Gathers his own information. Does the due diligence. And he’s submitted more articles to magazines and newspapers than just about any journalist I can think of.

I’ve always held him and Noam Chomsky in the highest regard.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 3, 2011 @ 7:19 pm

Good question, bito.

I always liked Bill Moyers. I enjoy reading Matt Taibi’s articles.

But, as far as all time favorites and influential people, I have to go with Christopher Hitchens. I LOVE Hitch. I consume everything he puts out.

Cher, I hope everyone is doing o.k. but I would be remiss if I didn’t say that this is one of the coolest pictures I’ve ever seen.

I hope whoever took it got out of there quick.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 3, 2011 @ 5:13 pm

You’ll be o.k. Abby. You’re one of the most thoughtful and considerate people I’ve ever met.

Just be yourself. You’ll do just fine.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 3, 2011 @ 3:13 pm

jkk, Wow, tough poll. I’m in the minority on all 3 questions. I get it though. I had that same anger immediately after finding out about Bin Laden too.

But some folks on this site told me what I needed to hear, not what I wanted to hear, and it really helped me get a better perspective. Anger blinds us.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 3, 2011 @ 3:12 pm

Cher, that’s o.k. It happens to me a lot on here 🙂

» Posted By ADONAI On May 3, 2011 @ 2:18 pm

KT, I feel nothing. And the way everyone on TV is acting, I wonder if that makes me a bad person or not.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 1, 2011 @ 7:59 pm

foodchain, I’m glad he’s dead. I’ll piss on his grave if I ever get a chance to.

It just seems like so much has been lost since 9/11. It doesn’t even seem about Bin Laden anymore.

It’s justice for the lives he’s taken I guess but, I just wonder, looking around, if maybe he died thinking he had won.

CAN WE LEAVE THE MIDDLE EAST NOW?! PLEASE!
