Time Out for O/T – Vol. 15

Randall Pofo a.k.a. “Macho Man” Randy Savage passed away this morning after suffering a heart attack while driving.

To say he was one of my favorite wrestlers growing up is an understatement. he was one of my favorite people, period. Such a character, such a dedicated hard working entertainer. And he was just starting to come back into the WWE spotlight too.

R.I.P. Randy. You are missed.

You’re right. SUPER hilarious. He does all that stuff AND he’s a sheriff? Hilarious.

KT, me too. It was a totally unfair fight. Don’t call down the thunder if you can’t handle it.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 17, 2011 @ 6:26 pm

Cher, I guess. It just seems like not giving into fear was kinda the whole point of it.

That’s what happens when you hunt something that can hunt you too.

And a gun doesn’t guarantee victory. Without it though, you’re fucked.

Don’t know if anyone has seen this. I got led to it from an article on Cracked.com

Politics and Eye Movement: Liberals Focus Their Attention on ‘Gaze Cues’ Much Differently Than Conservatives Do

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/12/101209074403.htm

From the article:

In a new study, UNL researchers measured both liberals’ and conservatives’ reaction to “gaze cues” — a person’s tendency to shift attention in a direction consistent with another person’s eye movements, even if it’s irrelevant to their current task — and found big differences between the two groups.

Liberals responded strongly to the prompts, consistently moving their attention in the direction suggested to them by a face on a computer screen. Conservatives, on the other hand, did not.

Why? Researchers suggested that conservatives’ value on personal autonomy might make them less likely to be influenced by others, and therefore less responsive to the visual prompts.

“We thought that political temperament may moderate the magnitude of gaze-cuing effects, but we did not expect conservatives to be completely immune to these cues,” said Michael Dodd, a UNL assistant professor of psychology and the lead author of the study.

Liberals may have followed the “gaze cues,” meanwhile, because they tend to be more responsive to others, the study suggests.

“This study basically provides one more piece of evidence that liberals and conservatives perceive the world, and process information taken in from that world, in different ways,” said Kevin Smith, UNL professor of political science and one of the study’s authors.

It’s pretty interesting stuff.

That guy’s hilarious.

Truly a legend. “Hammerin’ Harmon”. He was my great grandpa’s favorite player.

GRAVY AND BISCUITS!?

WHERE?!!!

I got a pretty easy way that we could have done a trial for Osama Bin Laden.

1.)Bring him to a county jail in New York and toss his ass in a cell. He’s not a super-villain. He won’t escape. Putting him in a federal prison with a large population, some sympathetic to him, would cause too many headaches and that’s what we’re trying to avoid, right?.

2.)Throw his ass in a black SUV and bring him to New York’s highest federal court for sentencing. And I yawn when I hear people complain about the “media circus” since we tend to have one in this country about once a week.

3.)Allow family members of his victims to confront him in court. Get some measure of closure.

4.)There is really no need for a trial by his peers since he has publicly admitted guilt on more than one occasion. All that is left is to pass sentencing.

5.)Then we execute him and bury him at sea.

No muss, no fuss. But, again, he got exactly what he deserved so no one can really complain. Which I’m not. Just saying.

HA!

Amen brother.

Caru, I would suggest something but I would hope you were already fond of it.

DO what makes you happy. What you see yourself enjoying more. Money and access and all that is great, but if you’re miserable everyday it loses some of it’s luster.

I’ve developed a lot of terrible puns over the years based on the “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter” brand.

Here are a few of my favorites:

In regards to internet message boards – “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Hitler”

Bill Paxton movies – “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Bill Pullman”(works in reverse too)

Seasonal Flu – “I Can’t Believe It’s Not SARS”

Ben Rothleisberger – “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Sexual Assault”

Political conversations – “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Fascism”

Religious conversations – “I Can’t Believe It’s Not The Anti-Christ”

Soylent Green Tofu – “I Can’t Believe It’s Not People”

Khirad, Yeah I guess I shouldn’t say they hate me either but it is hard to connect.

I find that my continued love of video games helps in a lot of situations. At least gives us something to talk about until whatever event that caused me to have to communicate with a fucking kid is over!

I’ve been calling them Whore-ticulturists.

You know, like horticulturists. But instead of planting gardens they have sex with hookers.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 13, 2011 @ 3:47 pm

Wonder who they were apologizing to?

I don’t understand what constitutes “treating an animal badly” anymore.

If some people saw me playing with my dogs, they may call the ASPCA. I don’t get it.

Obviously the cat really wanted to chew that thing to pieces. At some point you have to get it away from him. And he WILL put up a fight! A very comically sweet but none the less futile fight.

And if you’re going to pick up a kitten, it’s actually preferable that you use the back of their neck. It’s loose, the kittens don’t weigh much, and it’s what it’s for. It’s how their momma carries them. I don’t recommend doing it to a full grown cat though. Some of them don’t like being treated like children!

KT, I don’t know what it is with me and animals. I know with some animals it’s about my size. 6’3″, 275. I’m usually the biggest person in the room. Animals tend to gravitate to that person. The perceived authority.

But I find it with some reptiles too! People’s iguanas will hustle away from them and bed down right on my lap. Maybe I’m just literally a warm person. 🙂

» Posted By ADONAI On May 13, 2011 @ 3:31 pm

Why thank you Buddy. I like to think my dogs, Duke and Russell, genuinely like hanging out with me. Or, at the very least, appreciate the doggie treats.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 13, 2011 @ 3:28 pm

KQ, HA!

No doubt. But animals seem to like me. 🙂

» Posted By ADONAI On May 13, 2011 @ 3:08 pm

Of course he had porn.

What did the 9/11 hijackers do before they went to those planes? Strip clubs.

It’s human nature. But maybe we can finally stop comparing these assholes to actual practitioners of Islam who don’t have secret porn stashes.

It’s like when Newt Gingrich calls himself a Christian. It’s insulting to billions of people.

Is it just me or is President Obama really good with kids? That’s a virtue I just do not share. Kids seem to hate me.

Love the photo in front of the Golden Gate Bridge too.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 13, 2011 @ 2:32 pm

I love that he starts growling the second he thinks someone is coming after it.

My mom’s cat is the same way. If he even thinks you’re gonna fuck with his good time, he let’s you know about it.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 13, 2011 @ 2:27 pm

Well, if it were up to Gretchen Carlson of Fox & Friends(WARNING!!:FOX IS NOT REALLY YOUR FRIEND!)

There wouldn’t be ANY rappers going to the White House.

But did anybody see that video of Ted Nugent on stage joking about literally shooting Obama in the face?

And, as you could have guessed, Hannity loved it.

So that’s Twitter?

A series of playground arguments?

Another great reason to appreciate the patience and coolness of President Obama:

Congratulations to the Miami Heat and their fans for getting to the Eastern Conference Finals over the rival Celtics.

They stumbled here and there during the regular season but they have made it look easy so far in the playoffs. Never thought they’d take that series in 5. Gonna be tough for Chicago or Atlanta to beat them.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 11, 2011 @ 6:33 pm

Most definitely wts. And I would have loved to have had John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins for another year. UCONN wouldn’t have stood a chance.

» Posted By ADONAI On May 11, 2011 @ 6:31 pm

Cher, I forgot all about that! I remember that episode. Gary Shandling was hilarious! I will have to remember this.

Amanpour is the shit! Her show on ABC does not do her justice. Such a great journalist. And boy does she have good sources. But I think a lot of people who study that area closely thought he was in urban Pakistan. We found 2 of his top 3 guys in cities around that area I believe.
