Time Out for O/T – Vol. 15

audadvnc – I totally get where you’re coming from with the MIC but that is still a long ways away from a New World Order.

I’m disheartened by the 2 Party system as well but I am even more disappointed in the American people. We decide our representatives, not some faceless organization. And it’s not like all politicians are bought. Even ones we think who are, aren’t. They’re just shitty politicians. You don’t need to sell your soul to make a little coin in that job.

The system itself isn’t corrupt. We’ve actually crafted a pretty good system here. But it is made of individuals. Individuals can be corrupted. This the system is only as corrupt as the amount of corrupt people in it. Which is quite fewer than some think. Political weakness and compromising to ensure job security are not the signs of a hostile takeover from an outside entity. It’s existed as long as government has.

Democracy is not broken. It has not been “hi-jacked” or taken over. It’s an imperfect system because people are imperfect. Every stumble is not a sign of defeat. Every bad decision by a bloated politician is not a death knell for the fall of the republic. Before we can even begin to blame politicians, corporations, and “New World Orders” we must first turn a critical eye on ourselves.

We very much run this country. No politician, no political Party has ever done anything for us. They are merely facilitators for the will of the people. Congress did not end Vietnam, the Pentagon Papers did. Congress did not bring us Civil rights legislation, the blood of innocent people did. Congress did not bring us unions and abetter workplace, the sweat and tears of millions of families did.

We can throw off this yoke anytime we choose to. And a day will come when we will. I guarantee it.

I agree that it fails when applied to government and the regulation of society as a whole.

I don’t have any of her books on hand so I’ve just been reading her bio page on Wiki and the basic concepts of objectivism.

As a person who ranks personal happiness very highly, I find some of the ideas appealing. Still need to do some more reading though.

Well, I started reading about Ayn Rand and objectivism.

I hope you guys are happy. I like it now.

They’ll get another chance at it. They have great players, they just need a great team. They were beaten by a better team.

Miami gave up. I figured they would.

Congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks. I favored them, but not because I’m a Heat-hater. Though I do find them kind of whiny. I was just rooting for players like Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Dirk Nowitzki, Tyson Chandler, and others who have fought so long and hard to get a ring.

The Heat will have other chances. I’m glad Dallas finally cashed one in.

**EDIT**

And Rick Carlisle. A great coach, always has been, and now he is vindicated.

For the longest time I thought those phrases were definitely in the Bible. I though A LOT of stuff was in the Bible that didn’t turn out to be there.

It’s a trick question.

we all know full well women aren’t allowed to be in charge of anything.

Lady bosses. HA! Next you’ll be talking some nonsense about lady doctors. That’ll be the day.

I see no aspects of fascism in our current government. Maybe it is well hidden, I dunno.

I do know that the government doing favors to prop up their buddies at various corporations is not fascism. Fascist governments own the corporations.

There is no conservative or liberal ideology in fascism. It favors neither.

Fascists do not condone independent political thought. Both Parties push nothing but independent political thought.

Fascists hate capitalism or anything that even looks like it, corrupt or not. That pretty much rules out the Republicans.

I just don’t see it. But maybe give it time. But I do know we will see the difference. Fascism isn’t subtle.

Ladies, as always, you prove ever the worthy foes.

» Posted By ADONAI On June 8, 2011 @ 7:46 pm

But what came before the fish?

» Posted By ADONAI On June 8, 2011 @ 7:32 pm

GOD help America the day fascism really does come here. We’ve been crying wolf for so long, I wonder if we’ll even recognize it.

» Posted By ADONAI On June 8, 2011 @ 7:25 pm

Which came first: the chicken or the egg?

» Posted By ADONAI On June 8, 2011 @ 7:22 pm

I see. Well, I guess it comes down to trusting FaceBook. But I totally agree with you on the opt out option. And people should pay more attention to what they’re agreeing to.

» Posted By ADONAI On June 8, 2011 @ 2:31 pm

Can’t you make your Facebook profile private so that no one but friends can see it?

» Posted By ADONAI On June 8, 2011 @ 1:55 pm

Can I get those ladies phone numbers?

I love a woman with low standards.

» Posted By ADONAI On June 7, 2011 @ 3:01 pm

Zing!

» Posted By ADONAI On June 7, 2011 @ 2:33 pm

O.K. that’s pretty creepy. I was pretty sure my 4th grade teacher was hitting on me when we took a picture together and she put her hand on my ass.

Then I found out it was my friend’s hand. We had a long talk after that photo.
