What we are waiting for is for the California Supreme Court to rule whether the Prop H8rs have standing for the appeal, which they are refusing to do until *at*least* the end of the summer (despite the question being referred to them in December, and despite the fact that they are being asked not for a hearing, but a ruling on a point of law). After that, the federal court of appeals have to decide whether to hear arguments from the Prop H8rs (they will decide yes), then hear the arguments (I predict next December or later), then deliberate… And when they decide, they can kick it up the chain, kick it back to Walker’s former jurisdiction, or show some balls and make an actual decision. The 9th Circuit Court has affirmed that my username is entirely appropriate. The 9th Circuit just decided to NOT lift the stay on Judge Walker’s ruling that Prop. 8 is unconstitutional. Thank you, 9th Circuit, for reaffirming that I am garbage in the eyes of the law, that my partner and I *do*not* have a “real” relationship, and that our country exists only for those heterosexuals who choose to degrade the sanctity of marriage with 55-hour marriages, multiple divorces, child abandonment, and other “family value” actions. Am I angry? Nope. Am I frustrated? Nope. Am I disappointed? Nope. This is *exactly* what I expected. In fact, I expect that there will be no determination out of California in the next two years, at least, on this issue.
