I don’t think it’s going to make a huge impact but it seems to be defusing a lot of the spending to convince people of lies and hatred against Dems. It helps but the biggest surprise I think could be the uncounted minorities who may turn out in large numbers for Dems.

Then, the Kochs and Freedomworks said, “We’ve got to get in front of this lynching party and lead it where we want it to go!” Up until that point, the GOP was defeated and aimless. They saw this hateful movement as just the ticket to revive the GOP and they were right.

Maybe in 2012, the TP is more discouraged about voting than Dems are this year?

boomer1949 : AdLib, the visious division in this nation was determined whe a person of color took the oath of office and took up residence in the White House. Only part that bothers me is that those of us older than he can see it for what it is and he cannot.

AdLib : Parties are fine but we surely would benefit more from a 5 party system than a 2 party system. There is no Progressive Party, there is a Dem Party that has Blue Dogs and conservatives that will try to smother Progressive issues but no true Progressive Party. The Dems may get there eventually, there are many true Progressives Dems in Congress but not enough yet for the party to wholly Progressive.

bitohistory : Record number of filibusters and over 300 Obama appontments on hold, j’avaz. How do you reach out to the R’s and TP’s. Where is their reaching out when they won’t even allow a bill to be debated?

javaz : I’ll repeat myself – no matter your politic – we all care about our families and the future of our children, my mission i to find common ground.

boomer1949 : kes, the party system is determined by where the money is coming from — who can buy the most influence — and stir the pot to infouence an election.

AdLib : javaz – I think we are all agreed that the vicious division in this nation has to end and those of good will need to come together. However, my view is that there are some people who will never change their religion, their social views or their political loyalty. There are some folks who would even vote for a Republican who dresses up as a Nazi. They will not be expected nor invited to the party. They will have sworn adversaries who oppose racism, prejudice and inhumanity.

kesmarn : One advantage of the party system, though, is that it forces candidates to make a broad choice of where they stand, at least. It saves time. If you had to research every candidate and decipher all their code-speak, it would take forever.

AdLib : javaz, here are some stats that I think make a good argument as to why there are many TPs who could never be moved from racism, hatred and ignorance: 24 percent of Republicans believe Obama is the AntiChrist. 67% say he is a socialist. 61% percent say he wants to take away Americans’ right to own guns. 57 percent say he is a Muslim. 51 percent think he wants to turn over the sovereignty of the United States to a one world government. 55 percent think he has done many things that are unconstitutional . 47 percent say he resents America’s heritage. 40 percent say he does what Wall Street and the bankers tell him to do. 25 percent say he was not born in the United States and so is not eligible to be president. 45 percent say he is a domestic enemy that the U.S. Constitutions speaks of. 45 percent say he is a racist. 41 percent say he is anti-American. 41 percent say he wants to use an economic collapse or terrorist attack as an excuse to take dictatorial powers. 38 percent say he is doing many of the things that Hitler did. 22% say he wants the terrorists to win. «link»
