Hey TW!

AdLiban hour ago

Hey how’s it going?

twilson117

Pretty good. How about you?

AdLiban hour ago

Hanging in just reading and getting myself ready to get my granddaughter’s laptop read to send out.

twilson117

Nice! Did you load your app on it?

AdLiban hour ago

Not yet that is what I will be doing over the weekend. I need to make some changes to my account to add her along with a few other things so I’m setting aside the weekend to do it.

twilson117

Got it! She will be so happy to get the laptop and the app to use!

AdLiban hour ago

Ok I’m back

twilson117

Hey, where’d you go?

AdLiban hour ago

Just had a little glitch things seem ok now

twilson117

Oh. Glad all is well.

AdLiban hour ago

Have you seen all the craziness about Natalie Harp?

AdLiban hour ago

So I see Melina decided to show up for diaper Don event

twilson117

Not that I want to Harp on it.

AdLiban hour ago

Yes, Melania was probably ordered to show up to quash all the chatter about Trump and Harp.

AdLiban hour ago

Leave it to you and the puns

twilson117

Of course! Have you seen the letters that were released, her worshipping Trump? Only affirms that his followers are crazy cultists.

AdLiban hour ago

It looks like he’s going to get away with destroying the east wing and building his ballroom

twilson117

Yep, even though he has absolutely no legal right to do so, Roberts said, “Constitution? What’s that? We prefer a king.”

AdLiban hour ago

It’s a big mess but overall what do you think it will accomplish with fickleness of the American people?

twilson117

You mean the ballroom?

AdLiban hour ago

The autocracy is here, and yes I was referring to the ball room

twilson117

I would guess that most voters are not well versed on the news. I would bet their main focus is on the high costs of everything and their getting deeper in debt each month. Still anti-Trump and anti-GOP even though they’re missing the Marie Antoinette impressions of Trump and his cronies.

AdLiban hour ago

He has crews working seemingly around the clock as much as I would love to see the court say sorry but you have tear it all down and restore the East Wing as it was I don’t see that happening.

twilson117

Well as you have pointed out the midterms will be the factor we have to look at to see if he becomes a lame duck and face another impeachment.

twilson117

No, the Corrupt 6 on SCOTUS have no interest in laws and doing what’s right. They seem to think their job is to try and empower Trump to become a king before Dems can get back power. They all need to be wiped away off the SCOTUS. Senior Status for all 6!

AdLiban hour ago

I think Dems will start with the backlog of investigations on all his criminal acts. I also expect Trump to simply refuse to provide documents and testimony from anyone in his Admin. Investigations can still be done but I think the blocking of investigations will hasten his impeachment.

AdLiban hour ago

That is, they can impeach him on obvious crimes, he’s committed so many of them already.

AdLiban hour ago

You know how I feel he should be impeached, convicted is another story as we’ve discussed.

twilson117

Yep. I’m confident he will be impeached but conviction is a tall order when Senate Repubs STILL roll over for him like beaten dogs.

AdLiban hour ago

It’s a sad thing to see people not honor their commitments and cower because they are afraid to loosing a job

twilson117

I meant to say of loosing a job

twilson117

Yes but since the GOP has become essentially a cult, it’s less surprising to see such behavior. In any cult, your primary responsibility is to revere and bow before the cult leader.

AdLiban hour ago

We have one of the two political parties as a cult of hatred and destruction and they poll very closely against a party that respects individuals’ rights and dignity. Only explanation is conditioning, MAGAs are incapable of reasoning.

AdLiban hour ago

It is clear we need a level of constructive and disruptive change in our system

twilson117

Absolutely and a clear sign that is what many Americans think is seeing openly socialist candidates winning and even beating established Dems.

AdLiban hour ago

As we’ve discussed on this forum change is necessary if we want to move forward.

twilson117

That’s why Dems better be planning to make big changes when they get power back, not just try to get back to where things were which was damaging a majority of people in this country when they were the status quo.

AdLiban hour ago

People have an unreasonable fear of the word socialist and socialism thinking it means communism

twilson117

“A new poll in California may offer a window into the national struggle to define the Democratic Party. In a state that’s often thought of as the capital of blue America, voters are now more likely to say they’re turned off by candidates who align themselves with the Democratic Party. But that’s not because they’re moving right. The survey, published Wednesday by the Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies, found that voters are “more inclined” to vote for a candidate who identifies as a “progressive” or a “democratic socialist,” compared with those who call themselves “mainstream Democrats.”

https://www.commondreams.org/news/california-progressives-vs-mainstream-democrats

AdLiban hour ago

You raise a valid point around having a plan that is ready to implement much as the Repugs did with their project 2025

twilson117

Yes, that’s what needs to happen. I just don’t know if it’s happening and will be put into action. Or do the Dem leaders like Schumer and Jeffries just want to return to a kinder oppression by their corporate donors?

AdLib43 minutes ago

You there?

AdLib38 minutes ago

Good questions. I haven’t been following anything along those lines with any regularity I’ve sort of had my buried in The Spirt of Laws by Montesquieu for what I have been working on but I can say from what I’ve read to this point if he was here today he be wondering what the hell is wrong with us.

twilson117

When you hand the car keys to a mentally disturbed madman, not much you can do as he drives insanely when you’re stuck in the back seat.

AdLib36 minutes ago

That’s sadly is so true

twilson117

All Trump wants to do is talk about his ball room, go around and name everything after him and sell off the country brick by brick.

twilson117

I do think if we had a parliamentary government, Trump would be thrown out of office right now. But our democracy allows for a maniacal lunatic to be safely in power for a full 4 years, if he lives that long, since conviction for impeachment and removal is virtually impossible.

AdLib33 minutes ago

Now he wants to go to North Korea again

twilson117

He is clearly acting insane and the billionaire-owned MSM won’t discuss it even though they were happy to speculate on Biden being senile for years. This is some twisted stuff.

AdLib32 minutes ago

I believe we are one banana peel away from becoming and oligarchy

twilson117

I kind of think we’re in it now to some degree. It’s not all-encompassing but it is so overwhelming and oppressive today.

AdLib29 minutes ago

Lookat these unwanted data centers and Flock cameras just invading the country and the people having no say in some cases, just waking up to massive data centers being built to steal their power, water and bring them cancer and light and noise 24/7.

AdLib28 minutes ago

That’s my point it isn’t all-encompassing yet, but when people wake up and ask when it happened they will be surprised we they are told they’ve been in it for some time

twilson117

Agreed. Which is another argument about the pro-corporate Dem leadership that doesn’t want to break up monopolies and push back corporations from overtaking control of our country. They just want to keep the oligarchy growing but just donating more to them. This movement of Dems away from the “moderates” must continue to snowball and take out these frauds who don’t wnat what’s best for the people.

AdLib23 minutes ago

On the data center issue, I have to confess to a certain level of ignorance on that as I have not been following it. I do understand about the water consumption and the noise but it’s one of those double edge swords people want the access and the ability to find stuff fast, but the ‘not in my backyard’ aspect I will not pretend I know of a compromise that is resonable.

twilson117

The way I see it, the tech oligarchs are offering Americans this deal, “If you let us steal your land, water, and electricity, we will build more usage of AI to put you out of work and lose your health insurance as our data centers give you cancer and prevent you from ever sleeping soundly again due to the constant light and noise they produce. Sounds good, doesn’t it?”

AdLib20 minutes ago

It’s one of those crossroads that we are not prepared to deal with I believe because people are not asking the right questions and are caving to the tech guys because they believe they (the tech guys) are some sort of super geniuses when they are not

twilson117

I don’t know, it kind of seems like local politicians and city councils are cutting secret deals with the tech oligarchs to build their data centers and when the public finds out, they get pissed off. And they are recalling and voting out those local officials who secretly made these deals, both Dem communities and Repub.

AdLib13 minutes ago

You have a valid point there, and a logical answer would be then the people should be at the meetings, but when prices are sky high and some folks have to work two jobs to make ends meet and other get scared off by ‘tech talk’ they back down, giving in to their own misunderstand of how they can use their power to make the tech guys explain it to them like the would to their five year child and their is no shame in that especially when it has the impact it does as we are talking about.

twilson117

You’re right about the need for people to be at their local government meetings but in many cases, it’s all being done hidden from the public. Deals are being made by mayors, city councils, etc., in secret from the public and the locals only find out about it after construction’s begun. Hence their swiftly recalling and voting out those local politicians.

AdLib7 minutes ago

It seems like you may be busy tonight. We can call it for tonight and catch up another time if that’s best.

AdLib3 minutes ago

You’re right about that and I don’t pretend to have an answer for that along with admitting I also don’t know how one stops that as I believe when the deal is done it is sold to the people as a feature and not a bug.

twilson117

Yeah I have some reading to do give you call over the weekend.

twilson117

The best way to stop this is for people to keep voting these sneaky pols out of office and put the fear of being kicked out for bringing in data centers.

AdLiba minute ago

Sounds good, look forward to it! Glad you were here though tonight!

AdLiba few seconds ago

Ok catch you later.

twilson117

a few seconds ago

Have a nice rest of your evening!

AdLiba few seconds ago

You as well.

twilson117

in a few seconds
