Hi, Ad – how are you?

TW let me know he won’t be here tonight.
AdLib21 minutes ago
Oh, gosh – that may just leave the two of us, and we’ve pretty much exhausted all issues!!! LOL!!

As each cabinet pick comes out, it’s like a game of “Worse Than The Last”!
AdLib20 minutes ago
It’s the Limbo Cabinet : How LOW can you GO?
choicelady
Yes, may be a short night. Don’t know if Murph will be coming.
AdLib20 minutes ago
I like that1
AdLib19 minutes ago
Murph is in a lot of pain.
choicelady
We have states that see the light now and then. We have states that NEVER do. He’s in the latter.
choicelady
He is especially but we’re all in the calm before the storm. The next year will be awful and like cabinet picks, I expect each following year to be worse than the last.
AdLib18 minutes ago
Yep. I think there’s a biblical term for that.
AdLib18 minutes ago
If he gets this Cabinet, I think it will be stable because they will never thwart Trump and will divert their time and attention to getting rich. That could ensure “stability” and “focus” for them all.
choicelady
Ad – a Biblical term? Did NOT know the Bible had the word “asshole” in it.
choicelady

It was interesting to see The Senate Repubs basiacally tell Trump that Gaetz wouldn’t be approved. I wonder if their fear of Trump may be competing with the realization that Trump won’t be able to run again, at least legally, so this is the beginning of the end of him. Maybe they don’t want to go down with his ship?
AdLib16 minutes ago
Ad – well, Murkowski just screwed his pooch by saying if nominees are NOT FBI vetted, she will not vote for them.
choicelady
CL – I don’t know, I think breaking government is a hugely popular goal among the MAGAs and their oligarch leaders. They want democracy strangled and I doubt the MAGA billionaires will let this term go by without at least a dedicated attempt to drag us down into tyranny.
AdLib14 minutes ago
I think his power is pretty much gone. Some are deferring to Eldon, but most people ignore him.
choicelady
That’s good to hear. I wonder if other Repubs, thinking of the future, may back away from him for the first time.
AdLib13 minutes ago
I would suggest it’s a mistake to think Trump won’t exercise power in a punishing and criminal way.
AdLib12 minutes ago
Not clear that Trump actually cares about the gajillionaires since he thinks they are awful. This is a major clusterfuck that won’t be clear for some time.
choicelady
Trump will almost definitely call out his militia, National Guard, etc. to crush protests.
AdLib11 minutes ago
What have you been hearing about Repub pols turning away from Trump?
AdLib10 minutes ago
Or oligarchs?
AdLib10 minutes ago
It’s not clear states will allow their guard units to be nationalized for illegal actions. The billionaires are highly divided between the fabulists on Eldon'[s side and the realists on manufacturing’s side. They have VERY different goals.
choicelady
Trump clearly dislikes Eldon. No reports I can find on his views about the uber rich overall.
choicelady

I do think the overreaching will disgust many idiot Trump voters when things start falling apart. Apparently, Musk and Ramaswamy want to slash government employees and install an austerity plan similar to Aegnetina which saw unemployment and inflation explode.
AdLib7 minutes ago
CL – That’s what I’d like to think, that greedy bastards who only care about making money wouldn’t want this booming economy brought to its knees but the prospect of ending democracy and installing an oligarchy has its appeal to them too.
AdLib6 minutes ago
Ad – ahhhh – following the failed RW in other countries. ALWAYS a winning proposition!.
choicelady
I’m not engaging with the alleged “news” lately but otherwise, I haven’t seen any signs that Trump doesn’t like Musk. What makes you think that?
AdLib5 minutes ago
The writings from Eldon, his prophet, Yarvin, and others show me they are childish gamers surrounded by fantasy. They want to be a
choicelady

It’s crazy, isn’t it? They’ve seen how that kind of austerity destroys the country’s economy and their reaction is, “That’s exactly what we need to do!” The Silicon Valley mentality is “move fast and break things”.
AdLib3 minutes ago
T hey want to be Sauron from LOTR, and each wants their own fiefdom. The ECONOMICS of it has not been thought out at all.
choicelady
Of course Musk is a lunatic, he’s proven that again and again. He didn’t come up with a single idea behind any company he owns, he’s not a visionary but he believes his own lies and hype so he can’t wait to have his hands on the levers of power and “fix” things…just as he “fixed” Twitter.
AdLiba minute ago
This is terrible 20 minutes in – I am absolutely falling asleep. Exhausted from several crises lately. I can’t stay awake to finish this excellent conversation! TTYL. Maybe tonight, but more likely next week! Hugs to everyone who shows up and to you, Ad.

Indeed! I think their concept is to turn the US into a Russia-styled oligarchy where a handful of billionaires own all the businesses and government services while the 99% are crushed to their knees and will feel “lucky” to have a job that pays half of what they’re getting now.
