See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly father.” – Matt 18:10

Why do I care? Care about what? You ask.

I answer, Uvalde.

Who am I talking to? I realize myself.

Why am I doing this? Because I so want this to stop.

I want the NRA to go away. I want all the AR-15s taken and melted down and all the molds and blueprints for this weapon of horror gathered up and destroyed and never made again.

I want the parents of the children slain in Uvalde and all the elementary and High schools to have them back so they can hold them, hug them, smile at them, and have them smile lovingly back at them.

I want to stop hearing about school shootings and young, innocent children dying because members in the House and Senate are a bunch of pussies too afraid to tell the NRA to go fuck off and take their money and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine.

I want to stop hearing people saying the nonsensical phrase, ‘Our thoughts and prayers and hearts go out to the victims of this senseless act.’

YOU’RE DOGGONE RIGHT, YOU DUMB TROGOLDYTES. IT INDEED WAS A SENSELESS ACT!

It was senseless because all you wimps, cowards, and lickspittles are too damn scared of losing your next election if you don’t take the party stance around guns, specifically the AR-15.

I care because not one of you who refuses to pass an assault weapons ban can articulate why this weapon of death needs to be in the hands of ANYONE!

I care because I know that if any member of your family suffered the fate of Uvalde, Sandyhook, Coventry, or Stoneman Douglas and saw their bodies ripped asunder by an AR-15, you couldn’t get to a microphone fast enough and condemn your beloved NRA, and demand the immediate halt of all AR-15s in the United States. That legislation would pass more quickly than a newborn with diarrhea.

I care because Uvalde should have never happened, and Caitlyne Gonzales should be doing what typical ten-year-olds do, like driving their parents crazy and making them and their friends laugh and smile. Those of you who are parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, older brothers, and sisters know what I am talking about.

But our country has moved away from pursuing happiness to pursuing profit and unbridled wealth at any cost. And the price is too damn high.

You may be wondering why I care. Because, like many of you, I’m a parent and grandparent. Because, like you, I believe our children are our future and are precious. They deserve to be able to go to school and not fear that some deranged individual will come in and take their lives because they are an easy target for their madness and love of a weapon of mass destruction. Because every child who has died in a school shooting was denied the opportunity to grow, thrive, and contribute to society. Because they did nothing to the deranged individual who came into their school and started cutting them down like they were targets in a video game. Because they were innocent, and so many of them were just babies.

But, most of all, Caitlyne Gonzales shouldn’t have to do what she is doing.

That should be the job of her two senators, Ted Cancun Cruz, John Cornyn, and the governor of Texas, Greg Abbot, are the ones who should be advocating for the banning of the AR-15 instead of offering heartfelt prayers and gleefully stuffing their campaign coffers with thousands from the NRA.

These jackanapes and lickspittles for the NRA should be advocating for the safety of their constituents’ children, not for the hardening of schools. Instead, they can’t run from the reporters fast enough as soon as a question is asked about gun violence.

Ten-year-old Caitlyne Gonzales has shown the world that Cancun Cruz, Cornyn, and Abbot are unmitigated cowards. These three men are an absolute disgrace to the world.

Caitlyne Gonzales shouldn’t be in this position as a spokesperson for what happened in her school, and this isn’t a role that should be on her tender shoulders. This ten-year-old has shown far more courage than Abbot, Cornyn, and Cancun Cruz. But unlike the triplets of AR-15-NRA-idiocy, she is paying a steep price for someone so young. She has PTSD, has night terrors, and her mom sleeps with her at night to comfort her when she has these attacks.

She has to see a therapist regularly to deal with these issues, which is a process no ten-year-old should go through. Yet she does, as so many others who also have to deal with seeing their friends gunned down because of the cowardness of Abbot, Cornyn, and Cancun Cruz, who sleep peacefully counting their NRA campaign contribution dollars that allow the free flow of AR-15-style weapons.

All the heartfelt thoughts and prayers will not bring those innocents who were gunned down for no reason back. If anything, they have become meaningless tropes and more of an insult to the families who lost a child whose only crime was to be in school.

As brave as Caitlyne is, this is not a role she should be shouldering, and she should be living the life of an ordinary ten-year-old dreaming of becoming a lawyer or whatever she wants, not advocating for gun control.

For what it’s worth, my hat goes off to Caitlyne, as to the coward’s Abbot, Cornyn, Cancun Cruze, and all the Texas Republicans who refuse to pass meaningful gun legislation in their state, well, it’s like what Jesus said in Matthew 18:10, “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.”

So I say to Governor Greg Abbot, Senator Ted Cancun Cruz, and Senator John Cornyn, damn you all to Hell and eternal torment, and may Satan laugh and take extraordinary pleasure at your suffering, you useless troglodytes.
