I’m disappointed that Dominion didn’t go to trial but hard to turn down that settlement. They are after all a private company, our government should be going after Fox for giving aid and comfort to enemies of our democracy.

Had an interesting conversation on the way to dialysis yesterday. Was riding with a woman and we were talking about the gas stations here in Florida being closed due to the shortage of gas. And this woman was like oh it’s all Biden‘s fault. And I just blew it either just turned on her and said it is not Biden‘s fault it’s because we’ve had all this rain and the trucks can’t get to Port Everglades to deliver the gas. Then she started talking about how nine-year-olds are being put into labor camps. And I’m like what are you talking about?. Then I asked her about the Dominion lawsuit I said what do you think about fox having to pay $787 million for lying about the election? And she answers what are you talking about? I never heard anything about that. And I said so you listen to Fox News all the time right? So her aid was with her and her aid looked it up and said no she’s right it’s right here and she read it started reading the article to the lady and she was just pissed and just wouldn’t say another word to me for the rest of the trip

You know I think about this often. How can people our age, excuse me my age, be so damn bullheaded? After all we were are the ones who benefited so much from liberal policies. We were the generation that was able to build our wealth on our houses through the G.I. bill and through other incentives. We also worked for a companies who cared about us. Or at least cared enough to set up pension plans. I just don’t get why they don’t see how Trump is just pulling the wool over their eyes. I just don’t understand it. Sorry for rambling but it blows my mind.

glenn – People can become petrified in their political cultism and any age, think of all the young men who have destroyed their lives and the lives of innocents as raging MAGAs on 1/6 and lone wolf murderers. When many people get older, especially those who weren’t really politically involved, they get self-centered and more motivated by fear. They’re afraid of the younger generations and want someone to stop them from having power over them. But I know plenty of older folks who are very liberal too. I think the state you’re in makes a difference and many Repubs in FL.

One of the biggest donors to DeSantis in the republican party here in Florida has said that DeSantis has gone too far with his war against Disney and the banning of books and the abortion ban. What seems to be happening is that Repubs who have power in states are pushing the pedal to the medal in defiance and desperation, as the American voting population is clearly swinging well against them nationally, not to mention that the youth vote is so powerfully pushing Dems to win nearly everywhere. They see the status quo is untenable but instead of moving their views back towards the majority of Americans, they are trying to rig the election system to keep winning as extremists. I hope Dems win back unitary control of DC, kill the filibuster and pass voting rights laws that cut off these anti-democracy extremists at the knees for good and all.

it’s silly that some people are suggesting Disney should leave FL. They couldn’t walk away from the massive entertainment and revenue generating facilities they built there. I was in FL recently, limited my spending to deny DeSatan’s government much of my money, went to Disney Springs and it is incredible, what a secondary area they built there, seperate from DisneyWorld, Epcot, etc. You can’t push around that kind of economic power and vision.
