Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Hope to see you then! AdLib 3 hours ago
Hey AdLib twilson117 2 hours ago
Hi, Ad, TW pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
Hey guys! AdLib 2 hours ago
How’s your democracy going today? AdLib 2 hours ago
What democracy? fascism everywhere, looks like pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
Although USA seems to be slowly picking its way out of the swamp pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
Why are our reps just whining and not taking action as fascism grabs our democracy with both hands? AdLib 2 hours ago
Is Rudi’s goose finally cooked by the Ukraine business? pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
Hey PPO twilson117 2 hours ago
Rudy is sweating more than Trump in a sauna. AdLib 2 hours ago
And Trump now has a witness against him in the tax evasion case! AdLib 2 hours ago
Yeah it looks like all the Repugs want is total fascism twilson117 2 hours ago
I do wish the Dems would quit the infighting and band together to use the power they don’t appear to notice they have. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
And what about Milley saying Trump was following Hitler’s game plane and that he was preparing to rally the military to stop the coup?! AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad I know, have to wonder why all this is coming out now and not sooner. twilson117 2 hours ago
Manchin is going tomorrow to a Repub/Corporate Oil money fundraiser in TX just after meeting with the Dems who fled TX to stop the destruction of democracy. This is over in DC, hoping Manchin won’t hold the door for Repubs to takeover in this legislative coup. He is a traitor to the Dem voters and party. AdLib 2 hours ago
tw, they were still terrified of the power of Turdreich. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
PPO Trudrich – like that, but they don’t realize he has no power. twilson117 2 hours ago
TW – Sadly, I think the greed and self-enrichment of the journalists who held back these stories so they could make a lot of money on their books are so selfish, they have let evil grow to benefit themselves. AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad, good point. I challenge the word ‘journalist’, though. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
TW – But here’s the thing, if the Repubs break democracy in 2022 and steal back the House and Senate, they will be taking marching orders from Herr Trump and it will be Trump in charge of Congress. AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad, well not much I can say to that, other than it takes time to source and write, but it’s a common thing. twilson117 2 hours ago
TW – I blame the journalists as well as people like Milley and all the other cabinet people under Trump, they could have come out during the last impeachment to rally the public against Trump but they refused to. It’s like firemen watching a small fire and letting it get big so they can speak to reporters in front of it about how awful it is. AdLib 2 hours ago
TW? AdLib 2 hours ago
Thanks to our Happy Clappy MIA Prime Minister (spit!) Our state is again in total lockdown because his pals in NSW kept businesses open during their pathetic attempt at curbing the delta Strain. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
TW has dropped out, Ad. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
What could be a better way to serve the people than chase away the vaccine manufacturers and keep businesses open anyway? AdLib 2 hours ago
Was it my cologne? AdLib 2 hours ago
Exactly, Ad. Why didn’t our Dem Premier here think of that. Canberra thinks we should ‘live’ with COVID and never mind the thousands of deaths each year. Methinks he’s praying for the Rapture. I’d like to rapture his scrotum around his neck! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
I have grown intolerant of the wailing by Dems in DC and on MSNBC and elsewhere about how awful things are becoming due to the Repubs. I see no action, just the stale odor of daily outrage. AdLib 2 hours ago
I think these religious nutjobs should pave the way for the rapture by licking doorknobs in public places and inhaling deeply in crowded public places. AdLib 2 hours ago
And as to all this evidence piling up proving Trump intended a coup, he needs to be criminally prosecuted for this horrible crime and all the lives lost and ruined due to his ego-mad lunacy. AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad, they made sure they were vaccinated before making us peasants catch it. Someone on Twitter opined that all the berks on Fox are all vaccinated, even while spewing Murdoch’s anti-vaxx bile. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
Ad, it may take too long to finalise the ccase for that. Maybe better to concentrate on the Tax evasion, like Capone and other mobsters pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
It’s true, all of the “brave” RWs urging their followers not to take the vaccine are already vaccinated. Just like the people going down for 1/6, they happily sacrifice the lives of their followers who they see as worthless rubes, to try and sabotage society while Biden is in office, to undermine him. They WANT a new deadly COVID wave to kill as many people as possible so they can use that to run as the saviors of America…again, as they always do. AdLib 2 hours ago
PPO – So much crime committed on such a broad scale, by nearly everyone within reach of Trump and the DoJ seems both overwhelmed and skittish to prosecute any of them, sitting Congresspeople or ex-cabinet members, in addition to Trump and his family. I could Hulk out soon over this. AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad, are we yet again at the ‘Too big To Jail’ scenario? I hope they persevere. People need to see these buggers jailed. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
I think the bane of Dems is the loyalty of people like Mueller and Garland to the institution over doing the right thing. They wrongly see protecting the institutions from any appearance of partisanship as more important than stopping fascism. AdLib 2 hours ago
Hey TW! You’re back! AdLib 2 hours ago
Hi CL! AdLib 2 hours ago
Hey all – good evening. choicelady 2 hours ago
Hey Ad, PPO, TW – good to see you. choicelady 2 hours ago
Hey guys I back, had a bit of a glitch. twilson117 2 hours ago
TW- what happened? choicelady 2 hours ago
cl! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
PPO!!! choicelady 2 hours ago
Son of a glitch! AdLib 2 hours ago
The dreaded Blue Screen twilson117 2 hours ago
Not the Blue Screen of Death! AdLib 2 hours ago
tw…. ouch pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
TW – Ooooo – not the BLUE SCREEN!!!!’ choicelady 2 hours ago
Reminds me, must back up this baby pronto! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
Yeah, it’s very frustrating. twilson117 2 hours ago
PPO – backup is always a good thing. choicelady 2 hours ago
So, what are the betting odds on Repubs getting away with destroying our democracy by 2022? AdLib 2 hours ago
TCW – I blame Trump. choicelady 2 hours ago
Ad they are clearly on target to do so. twilson117 2 hours ago
Ad – The odds are entirely against it. They have a LOT of blather, but we have the tools and resources to stop them. choicelady 2 hours ago
TW – This is like watching an arsonist pouring gasoline all around City Hall and all anyone will do is express outrage that he’s about to burn it down. AdLib 2 hours ago
cl, but when will we start using those tools. We’re dragging our feet too much. Need action. NOW! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
Guys – they seriously don’t have the power or anything. Garland has a league of new attorneys suing against voter repression, we have an ongoing nationwide investigation of who was BEHIND Jan. 6, and the process is working. Do NOT forget Garland’s been in office LESS than 4 MONTHS. Just because it’s not fast doesn’t mean it’s not happening. choicelady 2 hours ago
CL – How can they be stopped? It’s so orchestrated across so many states. Without federal legislation, how can that happen? AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad the Repugs don’t care about democracy just want power total power. twilson117 2 hours ago
Hey Murph twilson117 2 hours ago
Hey Murph! AdLib 2 hours ago
Hi murph. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
PPO – I have been both a witness in and a researcher for federal civil and criminal cases against extremists. It took YEARS to get it to fruition, but along the way we stopped a LOT of damage. Fast is NOT the issue – CAREFUL is the issue. choicelady 2 hours ago
MURPH!!! choicelady 2 hours ago
Murph – I see that MO is in even bigger trouble with COVID. Please stay safe! AdLib 2 hours ago
I am so late……..but I am here! Hah! Before it slips my mind….our Georgia Peach sends her regards to one and all. She is in rehab and they are working her hard. She is exhausted by dinnertime so she sends her regrets with promises of a return sometime in the near future with a few drop ins as she can gather the energy. What a dear! MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
MO is seen as the most disastrous state for COVID right now though FL is gearing up to giving them a run for their money. AdLib 2 hours ago
Guess what – after all these years I just figured out it’s not our time of arrival but alphabetical by handle in how we’re listed. Duh. choicelady 2 hours ago
Yeah Murph, reports are things are pretty bad in the southern part of the state. twilson117 2 hours ago
Great news, Murph. Give her our love and good vibes. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
And hello everyone!. Yes, Ad…Mo. is in Big Trouble as far as positivity rate, transmission and spread and hospitalizations BUT, at least so far, the hospital stays have been shorter and far, far fewer are succumbing to the disease but BOY are these people nimrods! MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
Murph – As long as glenn is getting better through her PT, that’s all that matters. She is so missed here but it helps to know she’s on the mend. AdLib 2 hours ago
Murph – you mean glenn? What the HELL is she in rehab FOR? I am a great fan since hubs had hip replacement, and we put him in for 4 weeks which was GREAT. I hope she’s OK choicelady 2 hours ago
CL – Maybe you should change your handle to AA_Churchlady? AdLib 2 hours ago
Choice….were you feeling slighted? How could you be …… the spotlight is drawn right to you when you enter the room! MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
cl, I get the need for care, but mid terms are coming, so some action or other needs to dominate the news cycles. What better than a juicy RICO case? pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
Murph – I understood that the short stay folks are vaccinated. The DOA folks are not. choicelady 2 hours ago
Choice…Glenn was hospitalized for a significant for a series of issues, all age related, but she is recovery now and doing well. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
PPO – that RICO is how they’re building it. We have LOTS of time – even next year – to get that public. choicelady 2 hours ago
Murph – I heard they ran out of ventilators and hospital space in Springfield. AdLib 2 hours ago
Murph – that is SO good to know. Growing older isn’t the problem. It’s the MAINTENANCE that is. I’m glad she is getting better. choicelady 2 hours ago
I will send Glenn all of your regards AND she does read the archive on Saturday so your love and kisses will be delivered first hand. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
Murph are they seeing the light or continuing to be stubborn? twilson117 2 hours ago
CL – So what is giving you optimism about stopping Repubs from crshing democracy? AdLib 2 hours ago
HEY GLENN! We love you and wish you all the best!!! choicelady 2 hours ago
WE LOVE GLENN! AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad…the Mercy system is opening specially prepared open wards for COVID care because of the rush. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
Get better Glenn twilson117 2 hours ago
Gimme a G….Gimme an L……. Get well soonest glenn, we miss you. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
Garland’s task force of attorneys tackling the repressive laws. The crashing of GOP registration. The general improvement of the economy. The case in chief against the Former Guy that will bear fruit from DOJ and the House committee. choicelady 2 hours ago
Another factor re. COVID here is that the average age of those being hospitalized is MUCH younger….which means that survival and recovery rates are much higher. It is skewing the impact of the breakout. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
Murph – I saw a doctor saying today that their biggest problem now is the lack of staffing, followed by bed availabilty and number of ventilators. As bad as it is there, it looks like rates are exploding nationally and I can only imagine how horrible it could get by Fall. AdLib 2 hours ago
TW…these folks are mules! Stubborn stupid. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
Murph – but I read that younger people are fetching up with long haul issues of some real concern. choicelady 2 hours ago
Murph – death rates ARE up, and MO is a hot spot. choicelady 2 hours ago
Murph so we should be stock in 2×4’s to whack them over the head to get their attention? twilson117 2 hours ago
tw, offer free Viagra! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
As of midnight tomorrow, Los Angeles goes back on mandatory masks in public areas. I think Sacto will do the same. choicelady 2 hours ago
Ad…our local superintendent of schools is really taking a lot of heat on his COVID stance…..keep up the safety protocols until the CDC sounds the all clear. He is a tough guy and has done such a fine job he has a lot of credibility but he is getting blasted. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
CL – Whoever is behind this coordinated move by state GOPs to install a tyranny of the minority, perhaps Koch and such, have figured out to throw so much flak out there that cutting through to preventing voter suppression and newly grabbed power to overturn the votes of the people will be much harder to reverse and stop. AdLib 2 hours ago
Murph these folks are giving “show me” motto a whole new meaning. twilson117 2 hours ago
Ad – the challenges to voting rights will be knocked down. That’s what Garland is doing nationally. SCOTUS is good on these issues. choicelady 2 hours ago
Choice…the death rates are up compared to the recent past but go back a year and the numbers are far more dramatic and that is what the folks are choosing to look at….and, you are correct, that the long term issue related to organ damage with COVID will haunt may for years to come. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
Murph – stay safe. MO may be stupid. You aren’t choicelady 2 hours ago
I mentioned earlier that my State is in 5-day+ total lockdown due to NSW weak version ehich still allowed businesses to open. We’re suffering for their dumbass decisions. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
LA County has reinstated wearing masks in indoor places. That is smart and I have been doing it most of the time anyway. But I just ordered a new batch of masks because I think this is going to get worse throughout the US before it gets better…maybe not until next Spring. AdLib 2 hours ago
PPO – I thought I had read that, and I am sorry. choicelady 2 hours ago
Murph so the internal damage they are incurring is their Red Badge Of Courage in support of Trump**? twilson117 2 hours ago
My new Association- aka the new co-op, has adopted a mask at meetings rule and a mask in close contact rule. The first- because the crazies have left us. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
Ad – I have HUGE numbers of masks in designed colors. I will share if you like pink and purple. choicelady 2 hours ago
TW…I think your observations are spot on. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
Murph – kudos to your new coop. That’s wise. choicelady 2 hours ago
CL – I’ve only heard so far of Garland filing suit against GA. I don’t see him or the DoJ stopping the perversion going on now with AZ and Cyber Ninjas. Other states are preparing to dismantle democracy just like AZ because there’s been no price to pay or cop on the beat to stop it. AdLib 2 hours ago
My favorite mask now reads….for God’s Sake Be Kind! MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago
Murph I have a feeling your new co-op will be very successful. twilson117 2 hours ago
great decision and news, Murph. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago
PPO – But at least the people with money who are donors to politicians made more money while COVID was spread. AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad – he JUST hired a phalanx of new attorneys. NONE of this will be fast but WILL get done before next year’s primaries. God – he’s been in office less than FOUR months. And the new hires less than ONE month. Get a GRIP folks! choicelady an hour ago
Murph – It sure sounds like your new association is a lot more comforting and sane than the racist co-op. AdLib an hour ago
TW…..yes, the new emergency is reasserting the need for joint action and we are in a position to act as a unit. My gut is telling me that it will be easier this time around with fewer members and generally of same mindset. P.S. One of our new members, a black family, the wife is our new VP. The new Pres is one of the older hands. I continue in my role as Treasurer. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
CL – Heh! My wife would like the pink and purple, I’m more of a black mask guy to go along with my Batsuit. AdLib an hour ago
Re. the dems and fighting for Democracy…I have great respect now for our national government…..I cannot imagine that they will allow this Coup Attempt to pass without serious resistance. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Murph that sounds good. I believe it will very successful to the point it will make the others extremely jealous.
twilson117 an hour ago
CL – I would love to look back and say, “Why was I so worried?” It’s just been non-stop criminality and facsism for so long, I really want to see it being beaten back by the law. AdLib an hour ago
Murph – I want to join your cool association and I don’t have a farm! AdLib an hour ago
TW…the others live in the world of right wing denialism….so they may never catch on….but they will suffer for their decision. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Ad…maybe you could be an honorary associate? MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Ad I get where you’re coming from. These folks are bent on installing some level or autocracy. They want total control. twilson117 an hour ago
Ad – look back and ask why you were sure we were going to go fascist, we couldn’t defeat Trump, we were all going to have to go to Canada or elsewhere. The doom sayers have never YET been correct. And still we heed the hand wringers. I’ve worked federal cases. I see what’s happening. I’m concerned. I’m NOT freaked out. choicelady an hour ago
I can pretty much guarantee that the stopping of Repub fascism won’t be stopped by The Senate. Manchin is too bought and paid for. AdLib an hour ago
And Sinema is a stooge. AdLib an hour ago
Murph – I would be honored! AdLib an hour ago
Ad, so my greatest fear is justified – that McConnell still has the senate by the pubes. pinkpantheroz an hour ago
CL you feel our democracy can hold?? twilson117 an hour ago
Choice…how do you see Manchin and Sinema being brought into the fold? MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Kill the friggin filibuster! pinkpantheroz an hour ago
Murph et al. – as an historian I know we’ve been through this and maybe worse before. WE WILL PREVAIL. The only caveat is not the RW strength but OUR hand wringing pessimism. We need to stay focused on the process and not demand it be something it isn’t. Fast is NOT the issue. SOLID CASESS ARE. We may not see much until early 2022 – but then it will rip. Patience and steadfast grassroots activism are the ONLY things that matter. choicelady an hour ago
Murph – Manchin has already agreed on VRA updates with some GOOD changes. I don’t get a read on Sinema at all. The real spoiler is BERNIE on infrastructure. choicelady an hour ago
TW – It is so in-our-faces now. The abject fascism and march to tyranny that is the GOP. They have no shame about being openly racist in their CRT BS or lying and being obvious hypocrites. This is a mad dash by them to take down democracy because they know they can’t win in one. And yet, it at least seems right now that a few Dems in Congress are so greedy that nothing can make them stop this destruction of the US. AdLib an hour ago
Ad the Repugs will use the democratic process to bring down democracy. twilson117 an hour ago
A GOP friend of mine here long involved in county wide politics at the grassroots is clear that he remains Republican but not Trumpist….he is certain that both Manchin and Sinema will be brought into line because the judgment that will fall upon them will be so horrifying if they do not and the Republic’s Integrity is undermined they will be held up to scorn. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Ad – you do realize that the GOP have lost hundreds of thousands of registrations, right? You do know that the RW violent types have been with us for decades – and you know *I* know that because I’ve been tangling w them since 1990. And now the Dominionists have LOST GROUND to my denominations, the social justice ones. A lot of the former leaders are toast. They are violent – and they are weak. They have no strength at all in most areas. Yes, some will McVeigh us. But they are LOSING. And we have to pursue that loss and assure it continues. choicelady an hour ago
CL – That’s not correct, I always promoted that Biden would win. I am not a doom and gloom guy, I just can see what is happening around our country now, I see state governments like AZ, GA and TX going mental and not being stopped. This is new, this isn’t a case where Dems can use turnout to overcome this fascism, not when Repubs in the state legislatures are giving themselves the power to overturn elections and hand electors to the loser of an election. AdLib an hour ago
Murph – That is absolutely spot on analysis. choicelady an hour ago
Ad – I don’t mean you personally but “youse” (English seriously needs a plural you) who are worried but don’t really get the system. Murph’s “Real GOP” friend gets it. It is NOT doomsday. And it won’t be so long as we don’t capitulate to negativity. choicelady an hour ago
CL…this guy is a grizzled old time political scrapper…..and one hell of a smart business person…….he knows how to twist arms and why it needs to be done. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
CL, hope you’re right about registrations. but won’t they still vote R, although listed as independent? pinkpantheroz an hour ago
Ad – have you LOOKED at AZ and the massive pushback the asshat GOP are getting FROM THEIR OWN? choicelady an hour ago
CL it’s not the obvious people who bother me, it’s the ones who will usurp in a way that will seem all by the law. twilson117 an hour ago
PPO – NO. They won’t vote GOP as independents IF the candidates are Trumpers. That’s why they left the party. And the party’s so dumb it promotes Trumpers – to their peril. Part of my family is old line Republican. They went happily for Biden/Harris. This is the new wave. Might not BE Dems. They will VOTE Dems. choicelady an hour ago
CL – I disagree. I think the real weakness in stopping this fascism would be fear by Dems of not respecting institutions and the fearing the appearance of partisanship. What is Manchin’s BS cry as to why he thinks the filibuster is more important than voting rights? Bipartisanship! That matters more, at least that’s what he says. And sure, it’s safe for him to claim he supports S1 but he simultaneously insists he will not prevent McConnell from filibustering it. This is not right. AdLib an hour ago
Good, cl! I so want you to bwe right!
pinkpantheroz an hour ago
TW – Agreed, like the Russians, the Repubs use our open society and rights to sabotage the US. AdLib an hour ago
Ad – get on the Plamer Report. This is NOT what’s happening. It’s what the idiot media THINK is happening. choicelady an hour ago
Did you all address the newest story regarding the “Reichstag Moment” that the Joint Chiefs of Staff wrestled with in the last days of Trump? MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
PPO – Me. too. I don’t rely on my own analysis because I’m too CA focused in my work. But I rely on those who have always been right. Spandan at “Reclaim the Fight”, Bill Palmer, etc. choicelady an hour ago
Good CL and Ad LIb debate…..you guys are powerhouses. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Murph – General Milley is my hero and has been since June 2, 2020 when he issues his memo directing ALL the chiefs of staff to obey the CONSTIUTION, not the MAN. choicelady an hour ago
Murph I’ve always felt Trump** had Hitler tendencies. Also felt he would try use the insurrection act if he thought he could get away with it. twilson117 an hour ago
CL – Yes, I know the gap between Dem registration and Repubs registration has been growing as people leave the GOP. But here’s the problem with taking comfort in that, in Repub states, laws have been and are being passed that state that the Repub legislature can throw out the vote results by claiming vote fraud and then they get to pick the winners. Losing an election doesn’t mean losing an election for these Repub states. AdLib an hour ago
I just saw that the four COVID HOTTEST SPOTS are CA, TX, FL….ANNNNDDDDD….Mo! MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Well, I’m burning out on debates. Seriously – everyone needs to read the folks who get the system not the ones who are hand wringing. choicelady an hour ago
Murph – yup – CA is one. And we are masked and ready to deal w it. choicelady an hour ago
Murph – I heard FL has 25% of all new COVID cases. AdLib an hour ago
OK, folks, great chat, but I must go. Take care all till next week. Murph, send me an application formm for the coop. I can at least contribute a few bucks into the kitty. pinkpantheroz an hour ago
I have been reading a lot of legal commentary re. the GOP state legislation that alters the process of certification of elections to allow legislative interference permitting the overturn of election results as being so fundamentally unconstitutional that even the GOP heavy SCOTUS will not be able to support it. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Murph what is your Gov doing about it? Is he still blaming the hospitals for not having enough ventilators or being reading for the influx of new COVID-19 cases he caused with his stupid headed thinking? twilson117 an hour ago
CL – Yes, I’ve seen the Cyber Ninja madness implode on the GOP there but my concern is that the same twisted people in the GOP Leg who hired these unqualified lunatics and have already taken away power from the Dem SoS to defend voting rights, have no shame about simply grabbing power no matter the blowback. They really have no shame. AdLib an hour ago
Take care PPO twilson117 an hour ago
CL – What is not happening (as you mentioned about reading the Palmer Report…which I do)? AdLib an hour ago
I can just see me introducing the idea of you guys as members of the association….out of state, liberals, the bunch of you……the right wingers who walked away will shout….SEEEEEE…Murph is raising the flag of socialism. AND PPO. you are from some strange foreign country…..oh the tremors! MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Ad the fool from Pen wants to bring it to his state. twilson117 an hour ago
Seeya PPO! Best to Fergie! AdLib an hour ago
Ad- add in Garland’s legal challenges to state laws. The task force has JUST started – a month – so suits will be coming soon. And SCOTUS is remarkably good on democracy issues. The hand wringing over “ballot harvesting” in AZ is idiotic – CA outlawed that YEARS ago dur to GOP monkey business. Greg (my hubs) had the STATE record for harvested ballots until it became illegal. So upholding no harvesting is not lethal. Terminating ballots filed in the wrong voting place? Already happens if confirmation cannot be made of a change of address. This is like the NY laws that help prevent more Tammany Hall type fiddles. We do NOT have to go ballistic over basic good sense. choicelady an hour ago
murph, well should they tremble!!!!! Cheers all. Thanks, Ad will tell her. pinkpantheroz an hour ago
TW…Parson hasn’t a clue as to what to do……and he is getting blasted on all sides. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Murph so he’s feeling some pain —- GOOD! twilson117 an hour ago
TW…but I fear he is so dense that he will not wake up to it. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Murph – And wait until your ex-co-op members see all the Kale and avacado toast we’ll be selling through your association/ AdLib an hour ago
Murph well the old saying Horse, water twilson117 an hour ago
Bill Palmer has warned us against premature catastrophization. We are NOT going to go down to incompetent and inept RW crap. But it will not happen FAST, and we need to stop demanding that it does to feel OK about things. choicelady an hour ago
CL I’m going to check out the Palmer report. twilson117 an hour ago
TW – Yep, but thank goodness the PA AG and Gov won’t let that Repub nut have Cyber Ninjas there. However, I think GA is getting close to bringing them in. AdLib an hour ago
He’s very sensible, TW. choicelady an hour ago
Ad they found 4 cases of voter fraud in PA all in the name of Trump** twilson117 an hour ago
AD! Freaking Hysterical….that is a line I will be using….as a suggestion from a California Friend. Kale and Avocado Toast! Hah! MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
May I toss my question again regarding reports on the Trump Reichstag Coup effort….any conversation here? MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Ad – I think Cyber Ninja has pissed off SO MANY PEOPLE with their failure to deliver and corruption of voting machines they have to be replaced. NOW they want to go door to door demanding people SAY for whom they voted. What part of ‘secret ballot’ do they NOT get? They have pissed off their own one time fans. The GOP in AZ are on the warpath AGAINST them. choicelady an hour ago
Ad the way to get to a hard nose Rep is mention Kale and avocado toast. twilson117 an hour ago
CL – I am disappointed at the SCOTUS ruling on disqualifying ballots but I agree, it is not wholly devastating. What is working for Repubs are things like outlawing mail in ballots, criminalizing registration drives, preventing drop off ballots and increasing Voter ID oppression. AdLib an hour ago
Murph bring it up twilson117 an hour ago
Murph – what part of the coup? choicelady an hour ago
I suggest that we name Kale and Avocado Toast the Official Snack of Vox. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Well…the Chair of the Joint Chiefs being quoted as working activity to neutralize the coup he feared was being mounted by the Trump forces. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Ad – WE disqualify ballots in the wrong area if there is NO confirmation of address. CALIFORNIA DOES THIS. We are getting exercised over NOTHING here. choicelady an hour ago
The new book coming out next week- Only I Can Fix It- has a big “coup” section. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Murph – I can do the avocado part. I like kale cooked, not raw. choicelady an hour ago
Murph – I preordered it. I think it will be fascinating. choicelady an hour ago
Choice…Kale is my favorite salad green. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
I am second to none in my respect for Gen. Milley. choicelady an hour ago
Murph – I’m an arugula fan myself. choicelady an hour ago
I wonder if Milley is going to go public withthis. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Murph I read the account where Milley felt Trump** was going Hitler like twilson117 an hour ago
Murph – he has. I’ve read many articles with his comments in the last week. choicelady an hour ago
CL – I am glad Biden spoke out about voting issues this week. What I would like to see though is a more affirmative statement that “We will prevent this attack on democracy in the courts, led by the DoJ.” Yes, I know this should be in the works but a worried public needs to hear that a defense of democracy is underway and not pending upon Joe Manchin’s and Sinema’s questionable consciences. AdLib an hour ago
TW..that’s it. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
TW – That’s the real irony, of course it is almost completely Repubs who are found to have committed election fraud. That is their only platform after, “Thou Shalt Nuzzle Trump’s Bottom.” AdLib an hour ago
Murph – We’ve got the Lefties veggies covered! AdLib an hour ago
Ad – once more: when Obama was in, I got press releases on a number of major issues daily. Those sorts of statements were given regularly. Health care, prosecution of corrupt mortgage brokers, hate crimes, etc. And NOT ONCE did a single one of those appear in any local or national media. I don’t want Biden to hold daily press conferences – that’s Psaki’s role – but when the MSM IGNORE what the WH and Ex. branch agencies say, blame THEM not Biden.. choicelady an hour ago
Ad….”Nuzzle Trump’s Bottom” follow by “Suck his…….” Gross but true. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Murph now you have me wondering if that comment will be looked by the Congressional Special Committee, in my opinion it should. Along with other statements Trump** may have made. twilson117 an hour ago
TW>…..that House Committee is going to have a major role in setting the record straight for history. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Ad – I could have lived the rest of my days without the mental image of “nuzzling Trump’s bottom”. Seriously. I could have. choicelady an hour ago
Pelosi apparently spoke to Milley about concerns for the nuclear arsenal and was assured that safeguards were in place….the whole things is SO frightening. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Murph – We touched on that a little earler. It’s part of my overall frustration that Trump is still not being prosecuted for what everyone in his cabinet seemed to know, that he was indeed driving a coup to take over the presidency (for who knows how long, his lifetime?). The evidence is all over the place in statements from those who were around him, including Milley. Surely, no one would accuse Milley of being a pearl-clutcher? If he saw Trump acting to commit a coup and was preparing the military to fight him, he and others saw more than enough to indict Trump for treason. AdLib an hour ago
Whatever the House Committee does is for the public. The REAL power is the FBI/general Intel community/AG and courts. This is no longer a CIVIL matter. This is treason. And it’s SO CRIMINAL it defies description. choicelady an hour ago
Murph shades of Nixon with the nuclear codes. twilson117 an hour ago
CL the FBI seems to moving forward the 1/6 situation and from my view doing a damn good job of building their case. twilson117 an hour ago
Ad and CL – very good observations. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Ad – I have reviewed all Trump’s public statements. Not one thing equals convicting evidence of insurrection much less treason. He’s demented, not stupid. Cohen said he has a lifetime of telling people to do heinous things but doing so covertly. Getting convicting evidence is HARD, and that’s what they are grilling people about. choicelady an hour ago
CL – Nope, as I mentioned, the ballots in wrong districts thing is not what has been worrying me. It’s the crushing of vote-by-mail, drop boxes, registration drives, and legislatures having the power to overturn voters. AdLib an hour ago
TW- I’m with you. I work w the FBI on hate crimes issues, and it has been “all hands on deck” with all but ONE FBI jurisdiction 100% engaged in pursuing the details of 1/6. They are building a massive, airtight case against TFG. choicelady an hour ago
Did you spot Merkel’s glances at Biden throughout their joint press conference this week…….she looked so relieved. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
Ad – ALL of that is under the new attorneys’ scrutiny. ALL of it. choicelady an hour ago
Murph – yes I did notice that!!! She did not ever seem comfortable around W and most decidedly not Trump. choicelady an hour ago
CL – Sorry about the imagery. It’s what comes to mind when I see all these grown men and women who know they’re spouting BS, bow at Trump’s feet. It is disgusting anyway you describe it though. AdLib an hour ago
A very stimulating discussion tonight. Thank you all. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
I need a clarification. When Trump** was being impeached for the second time there was discussion around using a provision in the 14th amendment on not allowing him to run for public office again. I thought that could have been separate from impeachment Does anyone recall that? twilson117 an hour ago
Ad – It was funny. But it is apt – this man commands their loyalty, and I think it will be the death of those GOP> choicelady an hour ago
TW – I do not know why they didn’t use the 14th. They should have. choicelady an hour ago
CL – The House Special Committee on 1/6 needs to be broadcast in prime time. To defeat the MAGA propaganda that these were just “loving” tourists, the video and testimony needs to be in America’s face. I do feel good about how that caould help turn a bigger tide against Trump and the GOP. AdLib an hour ago
I missed PPO’s departure! Good night, dear friend! choicelady an hour ago
CL they still can can’t they? twilson117 an hour ago
What would it have taken for the 14th to be applied…what vote count? Counld it have passed. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago
TW – I don’t think it’s worth the effort if they’re going for the Big Things such as, you know, TREASON. That automatically invokes the 14th. No use in duplicating efforts. choicelady an hour ago
Murph the whole word is relieved, but, I believe they are still scared it could happen again. twilson117 an hour ago
Murph – that was never clear. I just don’t know about the uses of the 14th. choicelady an hour ago
CL – Trump is a shifty criminal. I wasn’t saying he had said anything in public that would convict him of treason, I’m saying that there are dozens of people like Milley who witnessed statements and actions by Trump that clearly convinced them that he was traitorous. I’m saying, those cabinet and admin people need to be brought in by the DoJ to build the case. AdLib an hour ago
I would recommend everyone read Nancy MacLean’s “Democracy in Chains” to see why, yes, this COULD happen again. A calm, rational, smart Libertarian could very easily hornswoggle us again. choicelady 44 minutes ago
Ad – the FBI et al. are interviewing witnesses such as Milley for exactly those reasons. But anyone OUTSIDE the Oval Office will have less insight than those inside. For that you need docs, emails, calls, etc. This is VERY complex, and many of those in the know are not cooperating. choicelady 43 minutes ago
The more transparency the better…the Emperor with No Clothes Needs to be exposed. And MacLean is spot on…had Trump been really smart and not just cagey he would have been a far greater threat. MurphTheSurf3 42 minutes ago
CL – I wonder though if it isn’t Trump’s vulgar racism, hatred and selfishness that works best to raise a cult following? A reasonable-looking would-be dictator would not be as attractive to the nutjobs out there who need to have their hate and fear validated by someone they see as “like them”. AdLib 42 minutes ago
Well – I am also going to depart. I agree w you, Murph – Trump was too stupid to succeed. But someone else might. And on that ugly note – good night to y’all! choicelady 42 minutes ago
Night CL! So good to see you! Have a great weekend and best to hubby! AdLib 41 minutes ago
Yes, let’s all have a GOOD night! MurphTheSurf3 41 minutes ago
Ad – that’s the question. Would a rational materialist do better or worse than a vulgarian? I think you’re correct, but we need to be vigilant to both. G;night you two! choicelady 41 minutes ago
You too, Murph! Say hi to your association partners from Vox and our Kale and Avacado Toast! AdLib 40 minutes ago
Hey TW! AdLib 37 minutes ago
Blue screen got me again Ad twilson117 37 minutes ago
What’s going on with your computer? AdLib 37 minutes ago
Maybe running out of memory? AdLib 37 minutes ago
I have no idea. twilson117 37 minutes ago
I beginning to think that may be the problem. twilson117 37 minutes ago
As a computer nerd, I can tell you that Windows creates a log when it crashes which you could check out to see if it makes clear why your system crashed. AdLib 36 minutes ago
Apple does that too. AdLib 36 minutes ago
This was a gift from a friend who has his own company and he picked up some Dells and sent me one twilson117 36 minutes ago
That’s really nice! AdLib 35 minutes ago
It may need a memory upgrade, doesn’t cost a lot. AdLib 35 minutes ago
Yeah it was, which is why I’m reluctant to say anything to him about it. But, when it happens all I want to do is take a hammer to it because I will be in the middle of something and then it crashes. twilson117 34 minutes ago
I still have my old laptop but I need something newer and faster and reliable. twilson117 33 minutes ago
Where do I find that crash log? twilson117 32 minutes ago
I know, that’s frustrating. Well, my first guess would be a need to increase RAM memory. In most computers, it’s easy to install the new memory boards that have a higher capacity. Could be a bug in the operating system, a reinstallation of Windows (not affecting your documents) mught be the next step in memory doesn’t solve it. See if you have a number of programs open, try closing all that you don’t need at that time and see if it stays up. AdLib 31 minutes ago
From Microsoft: Control Panel > Administrative tools > Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application > Click the “Error” type event AdLib 30 minutes ago
Thanks I will check that out. It’s time for a new system. Just waiting on tax return so I can buy a new one, or work something out with my friend as he is a Dell reseller. twilson117 28 minutes ago
That may show an error like “out of memory” or some other memory error. If so, you need to check the specs for that computer to see what kind of RAM memory it has then either have a computer place or if you’re comfortable doing it yourself, buy and install new, greater memory RAM cards. They’re typically not very expensive. And you could always sell the old ones on Ebay. AdLib 28 minutes ago
He might be able to get you Dell RAM at a bargain? AdLib 27 minutes ago
Or if it’s time for a new computer, sounds like you’ve got a great connection. AdLib 26 minutes ago
I have to check with him. He got a shipment of Inspirons said he would send me one. That was a month ago, but, I’m not pushing him. I help him with other stuff. sort of a listening ear for him. twilson117 25 minutes ago
I think this has 4k ram twilson117 25 minutes ago
Oh, that is very low. That could be the reason indeed. 8K is a good minimum. AdLib 23 minutes ago
I do have the tendency to have a lot of stuff open primarily news sites and I know the Edge browser eats up a lot. twilson117 23 minutes ago
Yeah I know twilson117 22 minutes ago
Yep. A good rule of thumb for me is to, from time to time, use CTRL+Alt+Delete and close my browser that way then reopen it and when it asks to restore the sites I last had on it, let it do so. As a browser stays open, it eats up more and more memory. AdLib 21 minutes ago
Good advice. What I really would like is to get one of the Dell’s all in one machines but do have 2k laying around. twilson117 20 minutes ago
I know! You could look at Lenovo and Dell, they have touchscreen laptops that are less than Dell and good quality. I use an HP right now but I’ve had Lenovo Yogas too that were closer to $1,100. AdLib 18 minutes ago
But when the tax return comes in and I give my wife her half I just might take the plunge but weighing that option for the moment. twilson117 18 minutes ago
I mean Lenovo and HP. AdLib 18 minutes ago
Sounds good! I like to wait for a holiday when they have sales too. AdLib 17 minutes ago
Have to be honest, I really like the Dell machines. I still have my Latitude e5440 and it’s a solid machine. This is an e5470 I think just low on the memory. twilson117 14 minutes ago
I had Dells for a long time so I know what you mean. AdLib 14 minutes ago
My last desktop was a Dell. AdLib 14 minutes ago
Never had a dell desk top. Had a Gateway desktop and two laptops, The fist Gateway laptop was great, the second one was a piece of crap. It died on me and that’s when I switch over to dell. twilson117 12 minutes ago
My Dell’s power source finally died and it didn’t make sense to pay for a new one instead of putting that towards buying a new computer. AdLib 11 minutes ago
Understood, sometimes its more cost effective to purchase a new machine. twilson117 10 minutes ago
Always a balance in life. AdLib 8 minutes ago
Yes twilson117 2 minutes ago
Looking forward to chatting with you next week! Take care and have a great weekend! AdLib 2 minutes ago
You as well twilson117 a minute ago
