Vox Populi, our live weekly chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Hope to see you here! AdLib 2 hours ago

Hey PPO! AdLib 2 hours ago

hey Ad! see u soon pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

See you then! AdLib 2 hours ago

Hey Murph! AdLib 2 hours ago

Hi Murph! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

How are things your way, PPO? AdLib 2 hours ago

OK, Ad. Usual medical grumbles. Apart from that the GOP New gummint here have already backed out of one of their ‘core’ election promises – a tax-cut for the middle class. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Sorry you’ve got to deal with what you do. AdLib 2 hours ago

Health-wise. AdLib 2 hours ago

As for the Labor Gov’t betraying its voters, isn’t that what they do without paying a price wherever the ignorant vote? AdLib 2 hours ago

Don’t worry, even that is nothing compared with what the US has to deal with daily. Could Cousin It be any more of a bufoon. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Oh, don’t worry about us. We have 3 legs, 3 arms and 3 eyes between us, so we can mutter along pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Trump’s photo now appears in the dictionary beside the definition of “jackass”. AdLib 2 hours ago

Now I’m scared…what else do you have 3 of??? AdLib 2 hours ago

It’s the LIBERAL (Conservative) bastards! Labor lost, dammit! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Whoops, I meant Liberal! AdLib 2 hours ago

forgiven pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

What was their main propaganda that they ran on? Populism? AdLib 2 hours ago

yes, and good economy (lie!). Boogeymen nasty lobor will tax your retirement pensions! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

“But we’ll promise to cut your taxes but not do it. Would Labour do that? I think not!” AdLib 2 hours ago

BTW, Nice to know Trump considers Fox more important than WWII combatants, allies and ceremonies. Class act, not. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Buyers remorse setting in already. Luckily there is only a 3-year term for these berks, but the damage done in the last 6 is huge pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Trump: “Hey, those military guys from the 40’s who faught that war and went to the beach are dead anyway, they can wait.” AdLib 2 hours ago

Vell, Herr Drumpf perhaps was pissed off that his side didn’t win pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

It just amazes me though that so many voters are so ignorant that they can believe the party that keeps lying to them in every election. Trump’s electiion taught me, more people out there are more ignorant than you ever imagined. AdLib 2 hours ago

frighteningly so, Ad. And with the insidious propaganda on Social media, who can believe anything nowadays? pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Trump kept Mein Kampf on his night stand, so the rumor goes. He would have kept Hitler on his 4th of July invite list if he was around. AdLib 2 hours ago

Love the Yuuuuge crows jee…er cheering him in London. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Since I’ve always had a dim view of social media, I found it ridiculous that people were saying they got their news from social media…then I learned, yes, people really did. Very disappointed in humanity. AdLib 2 hours ago

They weren’t booing, they were yelling “Troooomp!” AdLib 2 hours ago

Ad, what are the believable alternatives, other than us here??? Fox, Murdoch, Kochs? pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

If we can crush Trump in 2020, I don’t think his ego could take it. Yes, he’ll cry that it was a fake election but I think he will eventually have a nervous breakdown. AdLib 2 hours ago

‘They are now fumigating Europe’: Bill Maher blasts Trump as ‘the ugliest American ever’ after disastrous European trip pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

You mean for the RW nutters? They have no choice to get legit news, it’s all tribal, truth doesn’t matter to them. AdLib 2 hours ago

In despair we have to wait that long. Time to hammer him into the ground with Committee findings, investigations, release of every damning, criminal, corrupt act he and his crime family have perpetrated, so that even the most blind of his people see the naked emperor (shudder) pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Hello there……I will likely only be here for a few moments. I am exhausted. As you may have read the DHSS Director, Dr. Randall Williams, who was Medical Poobah in NC and made the judgment that warnings about potash sludge in water from coal mines were exaggerated and toned them down (and was then forced out of his post there after only 18 months)….has decreed a new standard for women seeking any abortion service, including non surgical ones……MUST have a MD Pelvic Exam three days prior to the procedure (whether surgical or not) and then, if surgical must have another at the time of the procedure. I was asked to take part in meetings today, long meetings, to help keep peace. A LOT of angry people. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago

I am just as fascinated by so many Dems insisting impeachment woud be a mistake. The degree of fear is embarassing. AdLib 2 hours ago

Hi, Murph, sorry you’re to jaded, but keep up the fight as well as you can! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Yes, I heard that. As I saw one doctor describe it, “I have to unnecessarily insert my fingers into a woman’s vagina for no medical reason, only because these politicians want to force this on the woman.” Not an exact quote, but you get it. AdLib 2 hours ago

I can only shake my head at the utter evil unleashed by Trumps antics, and Congress’ failure to rein him in. Now any asshole can legislate any insane rule and get away with it. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

How sick is it that these disgusting men are making it law to force a physical intrusion into a woman’s vagina, as punishment for controlling their own bodies. AdLib 2 hours ago

Hey everyone! How are you? And yes – these creeps are getting worse by the hour. choicelady 2 hours ago

how about men requiring insertion of a catheter into the penis before any sex? I’ll vote for that, seeing I aint gettin’ any! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

CL, Hi pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

I think the path for Elizabeth Warren and other women candidates just got wider. For a woman to take Trump down for forcing this physical takeover of women’s independence and bodies, it would be powerful. AdLib 2 hours ago

Hey CL! AdLib 2 hours ago

Hi PPO – I don’t know if I thank you for that last comment or commiserate with you! choicelady 2 hours ago

Hey Ad – how are you? choicelady 2 hours ago

Doing well, CL! How are you and hubby? AdLib 2 hours ago

Ad – we’re OK. Our AC is out, not repair in sight, 101 Monday, but hey…learning to live the OLD FASHIONED way. Sigh. choicelady 2 hours ago

lookin as if Bernie is starting to fade. Sorry, but I think that is a good thing – can’t distract or divert many votes pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

PPO – Bernie deserves to go down. I’m not the least upset about it. choicelady 2 hours ago

CL – NOOO! Do you know what’s wrong with your A/C? AdLib 2 hours ago

PPO – We discussed it here a while back, that Bernie’s expiration date has passed and it’s proving out. We’re just too damn smart! AdLib 2 hours ago

cl, bag of ice from garage place in bolw and put fan on over it. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Yes – the coil has cracks. Five year old unit, and there are no backup parts in Sacramento. It’s a Trane, one of the best, the company that services it is supposedly the best. And I’m about to go postal on them for not being prepared. BOTH of them. choicelady 2 hours ago

Only 5 years, ad? Disgrace. Ours is 15 and going like a train, as it needs to here! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Damn! How long is it going to take to get a new coil? I’ve had the A/C out on a hot day, I couldn’t get to sleep. AdLib 2 hours ago

If you can afford it, swap it out for a Mitsubishi! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Oh, how dem Mexican tariffs working? heh heh pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

The world’s A/C is going to be intensely needed. When it comes to Climate Change and every month, there are major climate disasters, you kind of feel like watching Nero fiddle as Rome burns as you watch Trump and the Repubs. AdLib 2 hours ago

PPO – I have all the backup plans, but our saving grace is the “Delta Breeze” over the large watershed south of the city. Once the temp drops below the house temp, we open up w fans, get the cool night air. But anything needing doing – running the dryer – must be done before 6 am to maximize the coolness and not heat the house. Grrrr, choicelady 2 hours ago

America will be heavily taxed and Mexico will be blamed for it. AdLib 2 hours ago

Ad – In our case Rome isn’t burning – WE are! choicelady 2 hours ago

OK, cl, as long as you have plan B pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

I am so tired of compensating for stupid. When did it become OK to make foreign policy on a hissy fit? choicelady 2 hours ago

Nice, CL. Glad you get cool night air! When it gets hot here in LA in the worst heat of Summer, the cool nights are a memory. AdLib 2 hours ago

BTW, Ad, is Kalima OK? pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Ad – I lived in Long Beach, and I used to be so happy I wasn’t in the Valley!!! We got cooling nights pretty regularly. choicelady 2 hours ago

cl, sounds as if he makes policies ONLY when in a hissy fit. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Exactly CL! Record floods in the midwest and record tornadoes in OK…and that’s just within the last couple of weeks! AdLib 2 hours ago

PPO = what’s up with Kalima? choicelady 2 hours ago

cl, she’s off air for a while, just concerned. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

I used to take the Amtrak from Buffalo to Omaha (family there). I don’t think I could now, too many connecting cities are under water. choicelady an hour ago

PPO – Hope she’s OK. choicelady an hour ago

Don’t have any info on Kalima right now. She should be back soon. AdLib an hour ago

ok, Ad. Not a health issue, is it? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad – I sure hope so. I am happy to reconnect with everyone. choicelady an hour ago

Where’s Murph – I see him, don’t hear from him tonight. choicelady an hour ago

He’s tuckered out (see above.) Big ructions about the dumb medical exam rules for Women wanting abortions pinkpantheroz an hour ago

I am back…read through your conversation…..Bernie fading, AC out, rail under water, world getting hotter, general disgust at what men are requiring of women here in the Show Me State (as in Show Me Your Pelvis)… MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

LOL- clearly an historian, hitting the high points, creating a workable synopsis! You are amazing@! choicelady an hour ago

No new Yabbies yet. Hopefully son pinkpantheroz an hour ago

soon pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO and Ad =- as much as I hate to say this, I don’t think you can lay the vile state regs on Trump. I think it would be a mistake for women candidates to try. choicelady an hour ago

Murph – More like the Men Legislating Digital Penetration in Women, That Should Show Them state. AdLib an hour ago

What became clear here is that a woman wanting abortion services, even non surgical ones, are required to have a pelvic exam three days prior to the service being provided. This included prescriptive induced abortion…….ridiculous. Hoping to scare off both doctors and women and those who love them….granite city, il. Planned Parenthood is having to really step it up. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Ad – that works, but I don’t think that SPECIFIC issue would work well in the general election. Better to discuss the overall mistrust of women as moral actors making wise choices for themselves and their families. choicelady an hour ago

CL – I put it on Trump because without him putting Kavanaugh and Gorsich on the SCOTUS, this wouldn’t be happening. His hands are very dirty on this. AdLib an hour ago

Ad – this didn’t go to SCOTUS. This is a STATE reg. It’s likely to be contentious in SCOTUS if it gets there. Then we can talk. Not now. choicelady an hour ago

cl, I simply feel that Trump’s ‘example’ has brought all the fundamentalists, white supremacists, bigots, sanctimonious dominionist out of their lairs to say and do and spread their crap with impunity, to our detriment. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

CL – Right, I don’t think it should be the central theme of a Dem campign but it would be an issue where a woman would have far more power to be speaking about than a man, let alone the man who promised to end Roe v. Wade. AdLib an hour ago

I worked my way through federal court on the last surviving federal injunction covering clinics. One of the things I learned is never to argue ahead of facts. We all know the “climate” provokes these disgusting strategies from the religious right, but FACTUALLY we cannot prove it. YET. choicelady an hour ago

Definitely a women’s voice issue, yes. But there are larger ways to talk about choice than these state specific issues. It’s a problem to load the Yam Man with things not observably his doing. choicelady an hour ago

cl, perhaps, but I can’t help feeling as I do and excuse me, but I am fucking furious! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

CL – Yes though the purpose of making all these oppressive laws is to eliminate Roe effectively, which only the SCOTUS can allow. These provisions will all be sued at the state level by the ACLU or Planned Parenthood but the ultimate decision will be up to SCOTUS. AdLib an hour ago

CL and Ad….and PPO….the kind of out of place, out of time, debate that you are discussing took all of the oxygen out the room today. We spent a huge amount of time on what SCOTUS would do and how Trump /McConnell did this. Leaders kept trying to bring the group back to this moment, in this place. Nearly impossible. You win by focusing tightly. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

PPO – I agree. I spent nearly 15 years on the streets, sometimes four days a week, taking women past vile and disgusting protesters. I’m trying to be strategic here on what has national resonance and what doesn’t. choicelady an hour ago

CL, do you mean we can’t prove that the intent of these laws is to overturn Roe? The author of the AL law said specifically that was the intent. AdLib an hour ago

Murph – yes, focus, focus, focus. choicelady an hour ago

Ad – No, that’s a good argument. What I mean is you cannot lay that on Trump RIGHT NOW. His hand isn’t visible in these state decisions. choicelady an hour ago

cl, you’re an angel. I defer to your experience and wisdom learned. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

CL – Trump ran on killing Roe, only nominating judges who would overturn it and he has issued EOs attacking choice internationally and domestically. I think he is very involved. AdLib an hour ago

What I fear is if the five conservatives go off th rails, they will make abortion ILLEGAL nationally, and I don’t want us to push so far they’re sucked into doing that. It would be disastrous. choicelady an hour ago

Here in this state…..what wins in pointing to two governors, one elected and one elevated by the resignation of the elected, who are using an out of state sleeze doctor to promulgate legislation in the name of protection women from unsafe procedures……without ever having a public hearing or bringing forth any legislation. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

The guy who owns Baby Trump blimp must be making a fortune! Showed up in Dublin for you-know who’s visit. Of course, every Irishman in the Whoe World who is his friend wa chering for him. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad – too general right now. He cannot be tied to specific state laws. Women can and should run on the general not specific issues. choicelady an hour ago

Murph – For conversation purposes, we’re cool here to talk about the big picture. For people gathering to take action, you’re right, first things first and attack the immediate issues. AdLib an hour ago

MO has big problems, Murph – and that is heinous. choicelady an hour ago

I’ve been heartened by those who say making it illegal outlaws only SAFE abortions, not abortions per se. Women will die but women will GET abortions. That’s a powerful reminder to many of us who ‘remember when’. choicelady an hour ago

CL – Don’t you think that if the SCOTUS exceeded their authority (which I don’t think Roberts would do) and went way past Roe to declare states had no right to allow abortion, CA and many other states would just ignore the SCOTUS? Wouldn’t Roberts realize that could be the thing that destroys the SCOTUS or forces a Dem president and Congress to enlarge the SCOTUS to take away their power? The blowback would be enormous. don’t think AdLib an hour ago

If you all are on Twitter, I’d find @Cajsa and see the HUMONGOUS list of “pro life” males who have been arrested on all kinds of perverse sex crimes. She had well over 200 religious and GOP leaders named. choicelady an hour ago

How about an invention of a device for men to curb sperm production until they want a child, then switch on the wrigglies? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad – I’m not sure if states with standing prochoice legislation would ignore SCOTUS or not. choicelady an hour ago

Murph – There is nothing democratic about a fringe minority of religious zealots trying to make women second class citizens. AdLib an hour ago

Ad – this has been the Dominionist goal since 1973. I’d encourage anyone who hasn’t read it to take up Jeff Sharlet’s book, “The Family” to see the ties the “C Street” people have had to Nazis and every RW movement. It’s terrifying. choicelady an hour ago

CL – That’s exactly what would happen and the nightmare in states that outlaw abortion is that I can imagine all kinds of BS advice and concoctions sold or recommended on the internet for do-it-yourself abortions that could be so dangerous. AdLib an hour ago

Dominionism has zip to do with Christianity. It’s a cult, but it has powerful adherents, and subordinating women is a key issue. choicelady an hour ago

Murph, why is Congress allowing religious zealotry to impinge on the running of the State? Surely that is not only unconstitutional , but a breaking of their Oaths of Office? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO – Congress isn’t. The GOP are. They are tight w Dominionists since Reagan let them into the tent. choicelady an hour ago

CL – All of these “pro-life” men are violent and deviant because that is in sync with trying to dominate women which is at the heart of that cultish mentality. AdLib an hour ago

Ad – Yup! choicelady an hour ago

cl, that’s scary. What is more scary is that intertwining religion and laws may appeal to a large swath of AMericans. It has to be chopped off NOW pinkpantheroz an hour ago

CL – I’m confident that CA and other states like NY would respond to a SCOTUS infringement on the 10th Amendment, just as they have to trying to force local governments to work for ICE. CA will never follow such an unjust and unconstitutional demand by SCOTUS and I think many states would follow. It would be declaring a form of slavery to be legal and those days are over. AdLib an hour ago

PPO – the key issue is the new ‘religious freedom” law that has allowed Hobby Lobby to ban contraceptive coverage for employees and bakers NOT to bake cakes for same sex weddings, HOWEVER, five human rights activists have been charged with major misdemeanors and one FELONY for giving water and food to undocumented immigrants. When the activists said their faith directed them to help those in need, the DOJ said – NO IT DOES NOT. The gov’t ruled against the issue of religious direction for liberals. AGAINST THEM. choicelady an hour ago

Ad – i think you’re correct about NY and CA. What about OTHER states? Not so sure. choicelady an hour ago

CL – It is important though to remember that this is a fringe minority in the country. Americans generally don’t get activated to fight back against something until it gets really bad. I am confident that if Roe is overturned, we will see a massive flood of activism like we’ve never seen in our lives, and that’s saying a lot in this era of anti-Trump activism. AdLib an hour ago

Ok, that’s it for me. Sleep Well, Murph! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad – I wish I thought people would rally enough to fight back, but only voting this scumbag out of office will help, and even then the court is compromised. choicelady an hour ago

PPO – lovely to see you! Have a good day there! choicelady an hour ago

Don’t forget, all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xWE5R6qEQQ

pinkpantheroz an hour ago

GREAT! choicelady an hour ago

PPO – Congress won’t stop this attack on Roe becuase Repubs own The Senate. But the real place for this is the DoJ and the courts, to enforce civil rights under the Constitution. Of course Trump’s DoJ will do just the opposite and we have nno idea if the SCOTUS will or won’t protect women’s rights. The 2020 election will be explosive for so many being attacked by Trump and his cult. AdLib an hour ago

Ad – I think whoever gets the Dem nom will have to be preternaturally calm. I think that is what people WANT – stability and assurance that life is somewhat predictable. No sudden moves, so to speak. choicelady an hour ago

CL – I know you’re not surprised by the bigotry, that the Dominionist types can violate other’s rights under the phony claim of religion but those opposing them or Trump are stripped of religious exemptions. It’s sick. We have crossed the line of authoritarianism. AdLib an hour ago

I also think whoever gets the nom will have to have a good sense of humor! choicelady an hour ago

CL – Considering that a solid majority of Americans support choice, I think the dominoes would fall after CA and NY, state elections would destroy Repubs supporting this slavery of women. Then, just like their claiming to support pre-existing conditions when attacking them was no longer feasible, Repubs will change their tune to win elections. AdLib an hour ago

Ad – the human rights workers of “No Mas Muerte” or No More Death were hit with charges TOTALLY out of sync with what comparable actions for NON immigrant aid would get. This coupled with a denial of religious faith standards (not exculpatory but often seen as a righteous justification for reduced charges) is very scary. choicelady an hour ago

I think yes, the genral issues about choice, about REAL family values concerning family planning – those are powerful to women and yes, to many men. choicelady an hour ago

No Mas Muertes. It’s plural, sorry. choicelady an hour ago

CL – I heard Mayor Pete say that he supports what I’ve suggested here, expanding the SCOTUS to take away their majority. If they overturn Roe, I think that will have a lot of public support. AdLib an hour ago

I do want an expanded SCOTUS, but I don’t like his formulaic approach. choicelady an hour ago

By holding 5 seats for Dems, 5 for Republicans, it overly politicizes the court. Then they pick 5 more meaning we’ll NEVER get to 15, only 14. It’s not good. choicelady an hour ago

CL – Sure is a tough job description for the Dem nom. I don’t know how being too calm will play against the vicious attacks of Trump. I’ve seen polls saying Dems want a fighter, they want someone who’s bipartisan, they want someone calm and cool, they want someone charismatic…I don’t know that anyone can be all those things. AdLib an hour ago

That said, i’m not sure what the answer to SCOTUS is. choicelady an hour ago

CL – A nom with a great sense of humor would be especially difficult for Trump to handle. AdLib an hour ago

You know – someone can be a fighter and NOT be angry. I think of Obama each time – no drama, just sheer forcefullness. THAT kind of calm matters. choicelady an hour ago

CL – That is outrageous, we are living in at least a semi-dictatorship when that kind of anti-humanitarian abuse of power can happen. And Trump is seeking to essentially torture the unaccompanied minors by stripping them of education, legal aid and recreation. The cruelty is unprecedented and the Christian extremists behind him are cheerin it on like a bloodthirsty mob. AdLib an hour ago

His actions are beyond despicable. choicelady an hour ago

CL – I think a whole revision of the SCOTUS process is needed. There should be limited and staggered terms, allowing all presidents to appoint them, maybe have a 10 year limit on terms, disallow the Senate from blocking a president completely from filling a seat and expand the SCOTUS in the near term as a form of triage because politics have poisoned the SCOTUS. AdLib an hour ago

OK – not ONE Christian is behind Trump. ONLY Dominionists. It’s critical to understand this cult because it’s actually something coherent, relatively new, and very powerful. Dominionists have a set of goals that have NOTHING to do w Christianity – Jesus is just a marketing gimmick, a brand, a mascot. They are radical heretics worshipping power and money, nothing else. choicelady an hour ago

I don’t want term limits for ANYONE because you get rid of the good with the bad. We saw that suck in CA, and it’s a waste of true public service. We have to pick better candidates who make better choices on judicial appointments. That’s the ONLY relief. Otherwise we’d lose RBG along with more conservative people. GOOD justices get better over time. I would not support their ouster. choicelady an hour ago

CL – I know that if the Dems enlarge the SCOTUS, Repubs could too when they hold unified power again. However, if Dems can get a majority on SCOTUS as moderates or liberals, imagine how the odds of Repubs gaining unified power go down with gerrymandering ended, Citizens United overturned and voting rights protected. AdLib an hour ago

I agree, but if you have term limits every one of those things steps forward could die off w a GOP president. choicelady an hour ago

Hey Murph – you’ve been very quiet! Anything to add? I’m about to have to do “nightly non-AC rounds” to get windows open, fans going! choicelady 44 minutes ago

CL – Yes, some of those things can work together but some Dems who say they want a fighter, say they want someone to go “toe-to-toe” with him and they want a verbally aggressive person. It’s also an obstacle for women candidates because some Dems think they’re not “tough” enough. Meaning, aggressive. AdLib 44 minutes ago

I think strength is not aggressive but solidly affirmative and brave. I think women can do that as well as men. choicelady 43 minutes ago

Yu can’t win w this insane man going toe-to-toe. He’s slimy and evasive,a nd it wouldn’t work. choicelady 42 minutes ago

Absolutely, I was mocking the nutjobs who claim to be Christian yet drool over cruelty and hatred. AdLib 42 minutes ago

Well, let’s call them Dominionists and set up the clarity of the cult mindset. It’s NOT Christian! choicelady 42 minutes ago

I am here. Just reading along. My mind is a bit numb…. MurphTheSurf3 40 minutes ago

CL – I understand but as a principle, I don’t like having judges who are in their 80s because many of them have been out of touch with real people for far too long. And let’s face it, though many can be wise at that age and we’re used to having SCOTUS judges so old, I think it’s better for the country to keep a vibrancy on the court. Yes, we would lose some good ones but we would also lose some very bad ones. I don’t like the “king for life” idea. AdLib 39 minutes ago

Murph – “Mama said there’d be days like this…” I’m often that way! choicelady 39 minutes ago

I am also concerned about where the nation is NOT going….our focus must be razor sharp….Trump and his ardent GOP fanatics must go and whatever it takes to do this is just what must be done. We cannot get lost. Focus. MurphTheSurf3 39 minutes ago

Well, some of our MOST progressive decisions were from courts w older and wiser justices. choicelady 38 minutes ago

CL – Nope, the idea is to stagger the 10 years so each president would get at least one pick, not have them all reach their 10th year at the same time. AdLib 38 minutes ago

Murph – I like that, and I totally agree. We can’t get caught in the miasma. choicelady 38 minutes ago

As both of you know I believe that our constitutional structure is inherently weak and easily stressed. It is rigid and badly adapted to the modern political reality and crises like these have brought us to brink before. MurphTheSurf3 38 minutes ago

Ad – I still don’t like the politicizing – what if GOP president is in when a Dem picked judge is termed out? Who picks the judge then? choicelady 37 minutes ago

CL – So which of the Dem noms is now at the top of your list? Murph, how about you? AdLib 37 minutes ago

What would work better, Murph? choicelady 37 minutes ago

Ad – I have no fave. I want to hear the debates first. choicelady 37 minutes ago

One friend of mine here has said it clearly. Biden has the best chance of taking on Trump mano y mano and duking it out while standing on the platform created by the leading contenders for the nomination with someone from the strong left as a Biden-like VP with established portfolio and get it done SOON. MurphTheSurf3 35 minutes ago

CL – I think it would be far better than the system we have now. Look what’s happened, now the party in power in the Senate will just refuse to sit a SCOTUS judge for a president of the other party for as long as they can, even decades. The current system is too broken, at least a system like I was describing would protect the court from this perverse system we have now. AdLib 35 minutes ago

My good friends – I now must depart and do window opening runs and get the fans going. This makes me feel like a frontier woman which is silly, but it’s back to my childhood! I’ll try to be here next week if at all possible. Take care of yourselves – you ARE my hope for the future! choicelady 35 minutes ago

Good night! choicelady 35 minutes ago

CL – So glad you made it!!! AdLib 35 minutes ago

CL…take care….hope you saw my response to your where do we stand now question. MurphTheSurf3 35 minutes ago

I think folks will soon see in the debates that Biden may be the next Hillary. AdLib 34 minutes ago
