Vox Populi, our live weekly chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PST. Hope to see you then!

Hi Ad. I’ve heaard of a Cone of Silence, but this Cohen is a Cacophony!

Hey PPO,
AdLib 7 days ago
Maybe Trump will put a “Cohen Out of Business” sign on the White House lawn?
AdLib 7 days ago

umpteen years being Trump’s mouthpiece, now weak and employed ‘as a favor’ That’ll play in peoria all right

pinkpantheroz

I think this is the push over the top of the hill for Trump. Mueller has his massive ass in a sling and is going to give it an even bigger kick. I can’t wait,
AdLib 7 days ago
Soon, mr Mueller, please! Soon!

pinkpantheroz

The pendulum has already swung back here in the US, your PM and those waround the world playing footsie with Trump will be in big trouble as he’s de-throned.
AdLib 7 days ago
I still cannot believe how many men and women , Black and White and Vets, still idolize the berk

pinkpantheroz

‘Scummo’ – our PM Scott Morrison is an abject failure already. Will be dropped like a hot potato next elections.

pinkpantheroz

Trump is down to a 38% approval rating and as Mueller hammers him into the ground, it will only go lower. When Trumpism is beaten in 2020, all those leaders who went along with it will see a preview of their comeuppance.
AdLib 7 days ago
How did your Thanksgiving go?

pinkpantheroz

Still can’t say Trump’s toast for sure. Hope so

pinkpantheroz

Had a great Thanksgiving, thanks for asking. Quieter but delicious and relaxing. I guess Election Day was less of a Thanksgiving for you?
AdLib 7 days ago
Actually, we were delighted with our State Elections! Labor (Dems) clobbered the Liberal national Coalition (GOP) big time. Took dozens of seats away and back.

pinkpantheroz

Trump is toast. He had the best of all possible worlds with a Repub Congress, the economy doing fine and no one in gov’t openly challenging his lies. And he is still at 38%. Add now a Dem House investigating and revealing his and his cronies’ crimes, the economy cooling down and Mueller tearing him apart a chunk at a time, he’s toast.
AdLib 7 days ago
They tried the once-successful Fear and loathing of immigrants and ‘African Gangs’. Got dumped on their behinds. Both the Opposition Leader and the State Liberal President have now resigned.

pinkpantheroz

Oh! I didn’t know that! Fantastic! We get swamped in our news here with all the Trump madness.
AdLib 7 days ago
People do smarten up eventually. When they see how the fear mongering evaporates and the threats never materialize, they remember the boy who cried wolf.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, understand. Here, the White Hats are Labor (RED color) the Black Hats are the Liberals(BLue color) Ass-about backwards Down under!

pinkpantheroz

Ad, is there any chance Bernie will be sidelined somehow. He spouts such crap and does more damage and dilution of Dem votes

pinkpantheroz

Trump literally stopped screaming about the caravan invasion on Election Day. Nothing subtle about that, painfully obvious to all that he was lying purely to manipulate his moron followers.
AdLib 7 days ago
And how do you win re-election when you have to alienate the majority of voters to hang onto your 35%?
AdLib 7 days ago
Donnie Jr. will be shivering in his hand-tooled boots. Felony indictments for those who lie to Congress! Rudi hasn’t a hope!

pinkpantheroz

Labor makes sense in the UK and Australia as the liberal party but never understood anti-liberal parties having the name “Liberal”.
AdLib 7 days ago
Don’t know the history of that. I think they were a spin off of the Tory Party here last Century.

pinkpantheroz

Bernie’s heyday was 2016. Too many other exciting candidates out there now for 2020. He’ll keep a segment of Dems but not a majority. He won’t be the nom, the majority of Dems want someone without any baggage and someone fresher and to be honest, younger.
AdLib 7 days ago
Well, the G20 seems to be treating Trump like a pariah. Read somewhere he’s in his room a lot. Putin prominent as id Murderous bin Shite.

pinkpantheroz

Don Jr WILL be indicted and then all insanity will explode in Trumpworld. Mueller’s smart enough to know he needs a Dem House in place, starting Jan 3, before he lights that fuse.
AdLib 7 days ago
The two murderering tyrants shared a high five but Trump sulked in the background cause no one let’s him assassinate anyone!
AdLib 7 days ago
Maddow reports that Trump’s patsy didn’t interfere with Cohen’s appearance and plea. Rosenstein still runs Mueller, it seems. Good

pinkpantheroz

Ad, Don’t give him ideas! He’d pick the total wrong one to off

pinkpantheroz

Hiya Murph!

pinkpantheroz

Hi…trying to get the page centered on my screen….not moving. May take afew minutes.

MurphTheSurf3

I think Whitaker is scared shitless about going to prison if he follows through on protecting Trump. With a Dem House that will drag him in frequently and Mueller prepared to take him down,my hat ignorant fool is like the dog who finally catches the car he chased, he doesn’t know what to do after his plan to pander to Trump worked. Not as easy to criminally obstruct justice when you’re in the spotlight.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey Murph!
AdLib 7 days ago
Murph, try zoom out o. Your browser, then you can reposition the box and zoom back in.
AdLib 7 days ago
Don’t know why that’s happening in your browser, Murph.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hi Ad….got it working……I suspect your reading of Whitaker is spot on…..he seems to be leaving oversight where it has been….must be driving the Red Menace Mad.

MurphTheSurf3

click and hold the bottom RH corner and drag it around. I hve to do that

pinkpantheroz

I think Trump would like to have his enemies in the press and politics killed. But the button on his desk only brings him a Diet Coke when he presses it.
AdLib 7 days ago
At this point I expect that the rats are going to start jumping ship.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph, all staff are now in self-preservation mode, not knowing when Mueller invites them to a curthouse somewhere for a plea deal

pinkpantheroz

I am noting the slow walk the GOP in the House and Senate are taking as they edge toward the recess…

MurphTheSurf3

Love that some judges are being rejected. About time.

pinkpantheroz

Oh, did ‘Is Nibs say anything about Russia/Ukraine?

pinkpantheroz

A legacy of lawlessness is not something that many want curved on their tombstones.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph, yes, Trump is probably frustrated a bit with Whitaker but I’ll bet they discussed his obstructing Mueller and Trump believes he still will. I think the lawsuits against Whitaker to throw him out come to a hearing in a couple of weeks. Whitaker is probably keeping his head down because of that too, he doesn’t want to be the first AG in history to be thrown out for being illegitimate.
AdLib 7 days ago
Murph, a lot of them will be forgotten, even before they’re dead.

pinkpantheroz

Murph, I get that feeling too, that we are closer to that breaking point where these immoral Repubs, after getting trounced in the election, start saying, “Trump? Never heard of the guy.”
AdLib 7 days ago
Two government attorneys I know (I taught them) who fill roles in solicitor general type offices believe that the case for dismissing Whitaker is airtight…..no political figure is willing to pull the trigger on the GOP side so the courts will provide an escape hatch.

MurphTheSurf3

Ad, I want to hear the first one to say. ‘Trump? Weak as piss. Only gave him the job ‘cos he did me a favor once”

pinkpantheroz

PPO…but even the most forgettable are legends in their own minds…it matters to them.

MurphTheSurf3

McConnell is still standing arm in arm with Trump as support in the Senate is crumbling. I say McConnell is defeated in 2020 if Dems put up a strong candidate.
AdLib 7 days ago
But you cannot read your tombstone when you’re dead!

pinkpantheroz

Legacy is all about trying to control how those who remain will think of you.

MurphTheSurf3

Even the mere mention of McConnell makes my blood boil.

pinkpantheroz

McConnell’s sneering disdain is stomach wrenching.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph, I put aside what I want to happen when it comes to Whitaker and just look at The Constitution and precedent. There is no strong defense to keep him as AG. The Vacancies Act does not overrule The Constitution nor the specific DoJ succession act.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad..that is what my friends say….The Justice Dept has been walled off from the kind of proxy appointments that Whitaker represents.

MurphTheSurf3

PPO – Love it! Think about how the condemnation of Trumpmby Repubs will be like a dam bursting as 2020 approaches and Trump and his family are drowning in criminal charges.
AdLib 7 days ago
PPO – Trump can read his tombstone now, Mueller is already carving it.

AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, Hope it is in the tiniest font possible, and placed in the remotest part of the Everglades, guarded by pythons and crocs!

pinkpantheroz

The Founders’ intent and the intent of post-Watergate laws are very clear. The president shall not be allowed to put his cronies in charge of the DoJ.
AdLib 7 days ago
PPO, then again, if it reads, “Here lies the worst president ever who was an idiot, a criminal and a loser”, maybe it should be a national monument.
AdLib 7 days ago
As long as he keeps away from actually doing anything, i suppose he is ok as a figurehead. The Rank and File must love this!

pinkpantheroz

Did you catch how Trump is being treated at the G20?

MurphTheSurf3

Trump’s biggest fear is to be seen as a loser and a fool and when 2020 is over, he will be both beyond dispute.
AdLib 7 days ago
yes, Murph. We see it here on Aussie TV, the ones not owned by Murdoch. Poor li’l orphan.

pinkpantheroz

pinkpantheroz

Murph, yes, we discussed some of that earlier. Have you seen the disgusting photo of Putin and MbS high fiving…and in the background, Trump is looking on jealously.
AdLib 7 days ago
Yes Trump would love to be a part of that club but unfortunately for him it is beginning to look as if the rule of law might well prevail.

MurphTheSurf3

And this is only the beginning of Trump being treated like a leper. For a narcissist like him, what he will live through from now on will be a true hell for him…and he deserves to burn eternally in it.
AdLib 7 days ago
We had an interesting thing happen here…..my state senator who supported the so called right to work referendum bill that got shot down in August big time vowed to reintroduce the legislation for another referendum thus standing in opposition to 64 percent of his constituents. He tried to do that this week and could not get enough cosponsors to make it viable…..the worm may be turning.

MurphTheSurf3

Things sure looked bleak over the past 2 years as the Repub Congress basically said, “Do your worst, as long as we get our tax cuts and judges, you can burn down America and the world. But this election and Mueller exposing what a lying criminal Trump is, has helped many see the light at the end of the tunnel.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, if there is one thing I would dearly love to see, it is the total and utter humiliation of the louse and the seizure of all his and the family’s assets.

pinkpantheroz

The announced closure of GM plants has rattled a lot of people….esp. when GM leadership basically ignored the Prez Threats.

MurphTheSurf3

That’s big in your state, Murph, isn’t it?

pinkpantheroz

What is big PPO?

MurphTheSurf3

That is very cool to hear! And did you hear about the race in NC where the Repub who barely won isn’t being certified and instead they are investigating election fraud? The evil is being confronted around the country.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad….saw that story tonight.

MurphTheSurf3

the state senator not geting support

pinkpantheroz

Nc cold be interesting. Who was that woman, and would she have collected enough to make a difference?

pinkpantheroz

PPO…..aha! Yes…he got reelected but his opponent was unusually unprepared to run a campaign…he mistook that for a mandate to do as he promised to do…his fellow senators know better.

MurphTheSurf3

PPO – What some may not be recognizing is that by the time many of the cases against Trump, in states and through Mueller, advance, Trump will still be liable after he’s out in 2020 for criminal convictions, jail time and tearing his criminal enterprise apart. He can’t pardon himself and despite that, the states are immune to pardons.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, sorry, is he immune from that because he’s (spits) POTUS?

pinkpantheroz

The GOP leadership in this state- coming to power in the wake of the collapse of the Greitens Stillborn Admin….are largely ignoring Trump….

MurphTheSurf3

I think it will become a necessity, to affirm that the US is a nation of laws and no one is above them, that Trump is indeed prosecuted criminally after he’s beaten in 2020 and is stripped of all his criminally obtained wealth. He will have to be held responsible for his crimes.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, we gotta get him out before then.

pinkpantheroz

Well, folks, it shopping time again. See you all next week. Cheers

pinkpantheroz

One of the most interesting development is the recent statement by the GOP chair of Senate Intelligence Comm who has now made it clear that his committee has requested investigations by the FBI of several who appear to have lied to them…all GOP..

MurphTheSurf3

PPO – It is DoJ policy but not necessarily required by The Constitution that the president can’t be criminally indicted and tried. Many scholars say it can be done but the SCOTUS would have to answer that question and we know that Kavanaugh would oppose that, maybe a majority, maybe not. Roberts is listed at Trump now, that could make him vote to indict.
AdLib 7 days ago
Bye to PPO….such a small crowd….I was looking for a bit of a gabfest……

MurphTheSurf3

The holidays are always a slower period for Vox but I’ll touch base with some of our regulars so we have a bigger turnout next Friday.
AdLib 7 days ago
I think that the hoped for outcome of pressures like you describe for a President is that the pressure to step down clears exponentially in reaction to his/her desire to fight “the enemy” in court.

MurphTheSurf3

That is very interesting and I think a clear indicator of how The GOP will back away from Trump more and more as we head into 2020. Repubs just got beat by a record margin, they should be scared.
AdLib 7 days ago
That is ok…..just offering an observation.

MurphTheSurf3

Trump is too egotistical to voluntarily give up this position. It would look like he’s a loser too. My bet is that no matter how badly he is doing with the public, he stays put.
AdLib 7 days ago
What do you think?
AdLib 7 days ago
I think that he is a coward and that it will come down to what is more humiliating…leaving on terms that could be presented as “his terms” or being bounced out the door.

MurphTheSurf3

Did you happen to catch CNN’s live fact checking of the WH briefing last week using a split screen? I have seen several interviews where Trumpian tactics havebeen successfully parried by well prepared reporters.

MurphTheSurf3

Dems may be cornered into impeaching Trump when Mueller exposes how criminally he’s acted but Repubs in The Senate will never vote to remove him. Then Trump is a wounded pig, howling and abusing his office, probably begging Putin to save him but by then, Putin will have abandoned him as a doomed loser. I can’t see how this ends any way other than disastrously for Trump and the GOP. And consider, Kasich or some other Repub will probably challenge him in the primary, damaging him even more for the general.
AdLib 7 days ago
All of which is why I think he will resign….and flee into the arms of his mindless mob representing himself as their “dear leader” in exile.

MurphTheSurf3

Maybe but I have a hard time seeing Trump accepting defeat, even if he lies about it being his idea. I think Trump would instead become more maniacal and push every destructive button he could to fight back…hopefully not the nuclear one.
AdLib 7 days ago
I expect that his cabinet would move against him before that happened….if only as a way of helping them save their own necks.

MurphTheSurf3

Yes, I saw CNN did that while MSNBC simply refused to carry it live. I appreciate that both are responding to the propaganda press conferences, I prefer not covering it because it is just a promotion of propaganda and there is no news aspect to it.
AdLib 7 days ago
But if he resigns, he can’t pardon his family if they haven’t been indicted yet or himself.
AdLib 7 days ago
In fact, if Trump resigns, he’ll know he could be immediately indicted on criminal counts and go to jail.
AdLib 7 days ago
I want to see the lies exposed but I get your point too….I expect him to try to pardon first…another lever his cabinet coulduse to force him to give in….Well, time for me to call it a day.

MurphTheSurf3

See you next week……

MurphTheSurf3

The 25th Amendment still needs 2/3 of The Senate to be implemented and that won’t happen, especially now that the GOP is distilled down to Trump cultists. They would be primaries and lose and that’s the only thing they really care about.
