Everybody must be still digesting their Thanksgiving Dinners!

Hey PPO! Looks like some Planeteers are still having a Thanksgiving Day hangover!
AdLib3 hours ago
You beat me to it!
AdLib3 hours ago

How are things your and Fergie’s way?
AdLib3 hours ago
Reasonable, for once. Our Prime Minister wanted to call Trump early, so got his phone number from Greg Norman!
pinkpantheroz
So Greg Norman is now the Ambassador too Trumpland?
AdLib3 hours ago
Hey Murph! Did you have a nice Thanksgiving?
AdLib3 hours ago
I just thought I would pop in…exhausted. Let’s see how long I last.
MurphTheSurf3
Hi Murph!
pinkpantheroz
Fergie’s new cousins will be happy that the steelers won!
pinkpantheroz
Murph – Is it the tryptophan or something else?
AdLib3 hours ago
I had 46 people for Thanksgiving dinner at my ranch house….I have a “great room” that used to be small barn…and the coop I helped to form and still help lead holds a big dinner here.
MurphTheSurf3
Sorry, Murph, what’s a coop?
pinkpantheroz
We had smoked turkey, and butterball roasted with all the trimmings……and there were lost of trimmings.
MurphTheSurf3
Holy mackeral! 46 people??? Must have been crazy but cool…crazy cool that is.
AdLib3 hours ago
Hope noboby had to drive home afterwards!
pinkpantheroz
Murph – Sounds like you would’ve needed half a dozen turkeys! Fortunately, you could have just chosen from Trump’s cabinet.
AdLib3 hours ago
Hey Harleigh! You have a nice Thanksgiving?
AdLib3 hours ago
PPO…a coop (short for cooperative) is a way for small farmers to buy wholesale, to sell as a group and to share resources. I and two others started it.
MurphTheSurf3
PPO – Maybe rolled home.
AdLib3 hours ago
Got it, Murph, thanks. we spell it co-op here
pinkpantheroz
That’s my way to leave the T-Day table.
AdLib3 hours ago
Any leftovers?
AdLib3 hours ago
more like hangovers, ad
pinkpantheroz
hi guys, t-day was cool.
Harleigh
I see bully Trump is insisting that Romney groivel and apologize, or he won’t get a cabinet post. Patrhetic, the lot of ’em
pinkpantheroz
Now I know that almost all of them voted Trump and it was interesting to overhear the beginnings of doubt……especially as some of the realities are setting in (lots of these people have health insurance for the first time in their adult lives thanks to ACA and they were fooled by the GOP claims that it was ACA that was the problem and not those who blocked all the necessary, and usual, fixes). Now they are worried. Others see his closest associates as movers and shakers, elites. AND his life style is sinking in. Miro Lago. Really.
MurphTheSurf3
PPO..yes it is co-op here too.
MurphTheSurf3
PPO – And The House Repubs are already firing a shot across Trump’s bow. I think Trump may come under fire from Dems and Repubs as he ignores some promises and keeps others.
AdLib3 hours ago
Hi Harley!
MurphTheSurf3
Ad, maybe, but what can they do to undo the disaster? Very little, I fear. Train wreck in slow motion comes to mind
pinkpantheroz
Murph – The collapse of the Don con job seems inevitable as reality dissolves it away. They will see how they have been played for saps and I’d guess they may not be terribly happy about it.
AdLib3 hours ago
Ad…and then what happens?
MurphTheSurf3
headless chickens will be scrambling, ‘cos they won’t have Dems or Obama to blame anymore. their negative regime now has to do positive shit, and I don’t think they’re capable of the 180.
pinkpantheroz
PPO – Actually, Murph’s folks and others like them have a lot more power than they may realize. If they grow unhappy with their realizations of Trump’s conning them and go after Repub Senators to oppose him, Dems could prevail in blocking many Trump policies.
AdLib3 hours ago
There only has to be 2 Repub Senators to disapprove of a Trump issue and it’s blocked for certain in the Senate.
AdLib3 hours ago
That is, as long as Dems don’t betray their coters and party.
AdLib3 hours ago
I have been saying little….they know where I stand…..but when I asked I tell them to call our Congressman and our two Senators and make clear what they are expecting and that they are watching them to see who they are really for.
MurphTheSurf3
voters
AdLib3 hours ago
Wow, but I wonder will they have the cojones to vote against the mob?
pinkpantheroz
Murph – It will take a little time but I can absolutely see conservative Repubs wrestling against Trump, egged on by their angry constituents. My policy is, never assume everyone in any organization are going to get along and not fight each other for power.
AdLib3 hours ago
The real GOP Civil War may be coming.
AdLib3 hours ago
Maybe steins recount will change the EC? LOL…. never mind.
Harleigh
MID TERMS!!!!!!
pinkpantheroz
As they say, be careful what you wish for. The Repubs wanted control over all of DC…now all that power could turn them against each other.
AdLib3 hours ago
Harleigh – Wouldn’t that be a miracle?!
AdLib3 hours ago
I would bet on Trump’s term being the most conflicted in memory.
AdLib3 hours ago
Fundamentally, I regard all of this as another sign of how badly constructed our government is – the bold revolution of the constitutional generation began to melton within a decade of its ratification and we have had a series of crisis without deep remedy…..think national territorial expansion, slavery, post Civil War reconstruction, the rule of the robber barons in the gilded age, and the Great Depression created such stress on the system that it nearl collapsed.
MurphTheSurf3
Harleigh….Stein was and is and will be an opportunist above all.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – Perhaps it is evidence that all the compromises that were made to pass The Constitution embedded huge flaws in our government’s ability to make progress?
AdLib3 hours ago
Murph – yet for all its flaws and fumbles in the world, the USA still stands out as a great country.
pinkpantheroz
stein is a POS
Harleigh
And Ad, with that power comes absolute accountability especially with Obama leaving office on a high.
MurphTheSurf3
Ad….those flaws were meant to be corrected by regular Conventions…not one so far.
MurphTheSurf3
I hope no one EVER pardons the Turkeys on Capital hill. quite the contrary!
pinkpantheroz
Stein is indeed an unprincipled opportunist. But she is also relatively irrelevant…unless she finances a recount that robs Trump of the Presidency! Now that would be real entertainment.
AdLib3 hours ago
The EC was supposed to prevent a drumpf, it won’t
Harleigh
The whole last year has been weird as shit
Harleigh
PPO…..yes, the U.S. is a great country but our government is one that sets the stage for crisis because it is so inflexible, is based on a fiction about non-partisanship, and puts walls between the legislative and executive that makes them rivals. None of it god.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – Absolutely. Trump will absolutely continue his bald faced lying and propaganda to insist everything that happens under him is wonderful and the bad things are all other peoples’ fault. But that won’t work for long.
AdLib3 hours ago
Harleigh, something is a bit haywire if HRC got 2 million more votes, but lost the EC. Some rearrangement needs to be done.
pinkpantheroz
Ad…Stein is doing now what she always does…rob resources for the Democratic party- money, energy, time.
MurphTheSurf3
PPO – This year the people wish the turkeys would pardon them.
AdLib3 hours ago
From 4 years imprisoned in Trumpland.
AdLib3 hours ago
Good one, Ad!
pinkpantheroz
I doubt that a constitutional amendment to make murikkka a democracy would ever pass or get ratified.
Harleigh
Ad….Last week he claimed HE got Ford to call off a plant move…..and they said NOPE! And now he making promises about Carrier.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – Yep but now with such extremists embedded in our politics, it would be too dangerous to re-open the Constitution for change. The Trump wing might insist on re-instating slavery.
AdLib3 hours ago
Harleigh….the embedded interests would block any real progress.
MurphTheSurf3
Ad…. or rejigging the Supreme Court
pinkpantheroz
Harleigh – As John Oliver said, “Fuck you 2016!”
AdLib3 hours ago
Ad….I agree…the mess is at the core of the instruments of government.
MurphTheSurf3
the SC is going down the tubes
Harleigh
Well, I gotta go do my afternoon chores. Glad you all enjoyed the holiday. See you around!
pinkpantheroz
later ppo
Harleigh
PPO….thanks for joining us…
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – I would have preferred more of a parliamentary government while Obama was President, imagine how much could have been accomplished.
AdLib3 hours ago
bedtime for me guys. have a great weekend.
Harleigh
Night Harleigh!
AdLib3 hours ago
Murph – Yes, I think Trump’s bogus claim about the Ford “move” is what we’ll see endlessly from him. Just outright lying to elevate himself no matter how it conflicts with reality.
AdLib3 hours ago
Ad…as you know I went to school in the UK from 11 to 16 and then became a Anglo-American academic…..I agree….Obama as Prime Minister…
MurphTheSurf3
Nite Harleigh.
MurphTheSurf3
But you can’t use lies to convince people they have good paying manufacturing jobs when they don’t.
AdLib3 hours ago
ad….I think I will drag myself to bed……Ad, reality will shake Trump from the tree, but what next? Well, good night.
MurphTheSurf3
Right! Instead, Obama was stonewalled most of his presidency by a party that didn’t care how it hurt the nation. In fact, they wanted it to damage the country so they coould win the next elections.
As a great way to share this experience, PlanetPOV is hosting a live chat (live typed comments) tonight to discuss the night's results as they come in along with everything else this election will bring and what folks think it will mean for the future.
