Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events, begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Don’t know what happened this week that we will talk about but we can always debate it. Hope to see you then!

The real event yesterday wasn’t the debate IMO, it was Jon Stewart’s last show.

the ending was great.

Hard to believe he’s gone from my tv now.
AdLib2 hours ago
I especially loved watching John Hodgman record Bruce Springsteen up close.

He’ll be back in some form after a nice long rest. Seinfeld will guide him.

I expected all the folks from the past to show up, he was hardly able to hold himself together.
AdLib2 hours ago
I think he’ll focus now on directing films.
AdLib2 hours ago
Amazing the number of stars he created

So true! A real reunion show.

It’ll be interesting to see how Trevor Noah does, he has an interesting take on the world

slm – Yep, Trevor seems a bit more reserved but I’ll give him a while to click.

Hi glenn!
AdLib2 hours ago
Ad – his humor is a bit dryer. He won’t be giggling at his own jokes…

slm – I remember when Colbert started his show, I thought he was a bit stiff but as time went by, he became great.

Hi Ad, SLM, Murph. Jon Stewart has left the building. A nice tribute to him airing now on MSNBC.

Ad – true but that was the character he played

glenn – Yes, have it on in the background now but recording it to watch later.
AdLib2 hours ago
I fear that I am a …… in regard to political and social comedy.

slm – I meant as a performer, Colbert was a bit shaky about starring in his own show but as he got comfortable, he became amazing.
AdLib2 hours ago
Ad–good idea to record it; that way you’ll have it to watch more than once, if you’re so inclined.

Not at all Murph, just a big fan myself of Stewart and Colbert.
AdLib2 hours ago
Murph–perhaps, but you’re spot on in the real word of politics and socialability.
glenn

Ad – agree, just that Jon sometimes had a hard time getting a line out because he was laughing at himself. From what I’ve seen about Trevor his style is different. I think he’ll kinda fantastic, actually

Love that they replay his takedown of Jim Cramer, it was amazing.

SLM–I agree about Trevor. I’m looking forward to a fresh view of American politics. Not that Stewart was stale; just that I think Trevor will bring a different perspective.

slm – That’s a comic’s thing, they laugh at their jokes to kind of encourage an audience to do so as well.
