AdLib – they tell a story here about the Chinese and the railroads. There were diseases that caused the deaths of only the white construction workers and the Chinese crews did not have them. It was because they boiled their water for cooking and drinking. What AMAZES me is that the white crews did not assume the Chinese crews were poisoning them. That is what comes of fear of ‘the other’.

Sabreen–I know. That’s what makes me so crazy! Santorum NEVER corrected that lie; he never corrected that woman when she said PBO wasn’t a citizen; he never corrected any of her lies. Instead he just went on as if she was perfectly sane. I know it’s been said over and over again; but you at least have to give McCain credit for shutting down that woman in the 2008 campaign. When I saw that Santorum video, I thought of the old Peter, Paul, and Mary song, “Where Have all the Flowers Gone?”, except I thought, “Where have all the statesmen/women gone?” Why can’t these rightwingers correct this misinformation? The lies never go away! It’s truly insane.

PPO–I check with FactCheck.org and PolitiFact.com mostly. There is also Snopes.com, but they don’t keep up with politics as much as the other two. Also, there is the Washington Post Fact Checker, Glen Kessler, who awards up to 4 pinocchios for especially lying whopper!
