Murph – I think that scenario you described and the downward projections of many corporations due to wage inequity, tell an important story. Even more so, the Brownback Syndrome is what we’re looking at. Given enough rope in terms of political power, Repubs will hang everyone out to dry including corporations because their “theories” are all anti-intellectual and destructive. So what will corporations do as their bottom lines are harmed by Republican economics?

Murph – The wealthy and corporations aren’t all in the same boat, they’ve been thinking that they are but they’re not. The consumer driven corporations are heading for trouble while the Wall Streeters make money betting for and against the other corporations. I see a real split forming.

Murph – Good to hear that brokers are recognizing that too. But as I say, you have two different camps in the 1% and corporations so the camp that is not directly affected by the declining consumer spending will continue their greedy ways whole corporations that are retail oriented will be pulling in another direction. Look at the corporations joining the bandwagon on raising the minimum wage. I think that trickle will grow to a torrent as quarterly profits continue to decline from expectations.

For a while, Dems seemed to be shaking that “spineless” label but watching them this election cycle, running in a panic away from Obama, the ACA and just about every accomplishment Obama has presided over (including very low unemployment and record high stock market) brings me back to saying what I used to say about Dems…grow a spine and you could win!

Murph – Less worry than anger. If Repubs win the Senate, it will harm them in 2016 and Obama would veto anything they and the House passed so the harm they could do is limited. I just get angry at cowards.

Beatlex – Er…yes, the people might expect a Repub Congress to do something to help the country but their backers, the Kochs et al will have bought them that power for the express purpose of screwing the 99% so that’s what they’ll do. 100 more votes to repeal Obamacare, more impeachments of Obama and his Admin, more tax cuts for the wealthy and of course more investigations into trumped up scandals. The Repubs will confirm to the clueless voters who gave them power, if they get that power and I am not convinced that they will, that they are truly horrible.

Murph – I don’t agree. Many establishment Repubs remember what happened when they impeached Clinton, helped him and hyrt them, they don’t want an impeachment. And any vote to repeal the ACA will be vetoed. And don’t be surprised to see Dems filibustering up a storm in the Senate. I hope that leads Repubs to curb the filibuster so that if Dems take back the Senate in 2016 (not saying they will lose it this year though), Repubs will have cut their own throats on filibustering. Looking at the long run, it may be best for Repubs to take over the Senate at a time when they can only harm themselves while anything they pass will be vetoed.

CL – So true! It really is hit and miss with nurses, some have excellent training and others seem poorly educated and disinterested in being a medical professional. I have seen my share of really impressive nurses and really ignorant ones. Like many professions but this can be life or death while a bad customer service rep just makes you cancel your cable.

Kes – I’ve seen hack doctors too who just seem to be cycling through their duties with disinterest and distracted from seeking the actual issue a patient is suffering. And I’ve had brilliant doctors who are very attentive. Just seems that as everyone’s income is being depressed, except the top 1% who offer the nation little to nothing, the devaluing of people and careers means a deterioration of the quality of those in that field.

CL – It may sound cynical but I think it’s the truth, the MSM WANTS Americans to feel terror and stay tuned to their networks and papers. They are dishonestly skewing all of this into a non-existent epidemic and the experts seem so frustrated and dismayed that no one will listen to them that this is not something to be fearful about.
