The Japanese certainly have had their version of the Four Horsemen of an Apocalypse! Earthquake, tsunami…nuclear facility explosions and meltdowns.

If someone doesn’t do SOMETHING about capping those plants with some concrete, the fourth Horseman will be riding in on a typhoon!

And we know that it’s a very likely possibility one will make land in Japan this year.

All they need now is for high winds and raining downpours to spread the radiation even further!

Cher, to correct a comment I made earlier about how when you said “my POV” that was miscontrued by me to mean that you felt this site was your property, you must remember that I haven’t been here a week yet, and thought you were referring to PlanetPOV. After rereading what I and you said, I now know it was inappropriate and that you meant your “point of view”.

My sincerest apologies.

I am a “newbie” and haven’t gotten the Planeteer terminology thingie down pat yet.

They are holding me down as I type this for the fitting of those ears I am told I must wear! I was a Buffalo Bob and Howdy Doody kid and never could sign on to the Mouseketeers Club when I was growing up.

We Are Aiding and Abetting the Republicans

How many times are we going to count the Rethuglicans out? Every time we do, they bounce back stronger than before! And if you think the howling that union workers are doing in Wisconsin sounds loud, wait until Mr. Obama makes the statement how he thinks it’s fiscally responsible to cut SS checks and reduce Medicare expenditures for the good of the economy! I’m not saying that Mr. Obama isn’t holding steady at, what 43% in popularity, but 43% ain’t good either! And that’s counting Dems/Libs/Progs in these polls! There is, however, less and less agreement with his foreign policies and his dealings with Wall Street among his base. Foreclosures are starting to grow to percentages of 2008 again. The job outlook isn’t getting any better. All the indicators aren’t looking too good for him in the near future.

He’s one calamity away from losing all his support from all Americans, especially if the Republicans see an opening to take advantage of.

I hope and pray that things work out, not only for him, but for ALL OF US!

I would think a rose in a cornfield could be considered a weed and vice versa. I do not believe that any plant on earth is a weed as they all have their place on this planet and a reason for their exsitence.

Just my personal observation.

Sometimes it’s not what they are but what we call them! It doesn’t change what they are, though! LMAO!

I have said that the Republicans have had a plan to put a Dem into office so they could blame all the wrongs on him, Obama, since they knew Hillary wasn’t going to get the nod. Why, you ask? Because they crossed party lines to vote for Obama over her. They did not want her to win the nomination in ’08. They chose McCain to be the fall guy because they disliked him so much and pushed him to take Sister Sarah on as his running mate. They could live with the thought of him losing to a black man than anyone else. Insult of insults! His Maverickiness has always been repulsive to them. Back to their plan. They figured that enough people would be so upset with Obama after four years that they consider it a “lock” to regain the White House in 2012. They are displacing voters as we speak with all these new hoops someone will need to jump through to get to vote. College students are being disenfranchised. The homeless are next. the odds are stacked their way. And, if all else fails, they’ll roll out those Diebold voting machines if necessary! But, their ace in the hole?

I would keep an eye on Karl Rove and that other “Snake in the Grass”, Grover Norquist! He’s the guy who really comes up with the marching orders for the Republican Party! Remember, he’s the one who came up with the slogan, “Starve the Beast”, referring to big government and shrinking it through attrition. We don’t hear his name enough because he is the master of subterfuge! But believe me, his fingerprints are all over the Neocon and Conservative agenda! Sister Sarah…I think they’re grooming her for another run for vice president with, hold on to your hat…Jeb Bush! He could wipe the floor with Democrats if he decides to run because of one thing; the Hispanic vote! His wife is Mexican/American, he speaks fluent Spanish and would come out as if he were DRAFTED by the Republican Party to save this nation from the hordes of barbarians, i.e. Dems/Libs/Progs that are ruining this country (their words, not mine). Rove and Norquist are gathering the finances and soldiers! Soon, you will hear Jeb’s name brought up more and more. Sister Sarah will automatically draw the Rethuglican/Tea Hadist votes they will need to push them over the top!

Oh my! The ghost of Donald Regan coming back to haunt us!

In my opinion, true comedians are rarer in society than any other profession. They are the eyes to the soul of Mankind. They bring things to light better than any psychologist, teacher, soothsayer or prophet. More truth is found in a joke than all the books on socio-cultural, political or economic problems. And EVERYONE seems to get the “joke”. No explanations are necessary.

Liberal Dems, ConservoDems, In-BetweenDems, they all are PO’d with Mr. Obama. The only people that aren’t? His wife and kiddies! And no matter how angry the Rethugs seem, from near center all the way to far, far, faaaar right, are secretly in love with Obama! He’s their ‘wet dream’ come true! The Patriot Act, Gitmo, secret black ops, increasing our military footprint worldwide, tax breaks for the rich, and worst of all (for us working class stiffs), he’s sounding out the possibillity of SS and Medicare reductions! But, the Rethugs HAVE to act like they hate him. But they attack him for golfing (like Boehner), taking vacations and trips every other month (like GWB), you know, the little things. This story reminds me of Brer Rabbit where he cries out, “Whatever you do, don’t throw me in that briar patch!”. But we all know that’s EXACTLY where he wants to be.

If you ask me, when Obama wants something, he goes straight to the Repubs because he knows he doesn’t need his “base”. That’s why he doesn’t meet with the Dem Leaders. He knows their stance.

And my fellow Ohioan, David Kucinich, is just the cat’s meow, caterwauling as he does. Who in Congress listens to him anyway? He’s one of the most ineffective members of Congress EVER! Why, he’s the mouse that roared!

Being an old Salty Dog, I have a feeling that all it would take is one good-sized storm to blow and you would see many people jumping “ship” after it passed. You’re at the mercy of the wind, rain and waves and would need nerves of steel to stay after the first one.

Not everyone is cut out to be a sailor or an islander!

Has anyone ever lived on an island? A small, wind-swept, far from civilization island? The ones that are close to a mainland are already occupied. But, I will testify that “island fever” sets in quite quickly. It wouldn’t take long for some to go stir-crazy. So, the bigger, the better.

Most institutions of higher learning allow auditing of their classes, so long as you’re not disruptive to the paying students. Of course, you’ll never see an exam or turn in papers to be graded. You can’t raise your hand or ask a question of the professor. Normally, classes are taught by associate professors or even fellow students! But this does fit the criteria you mentioned.
