If Nancy can’t get to 216, there will be no vote on Sunday.

Well, Rove had to keep selling the war because it became more and more clear that invading Iraq was criminal. Just about everything that administration did was criminal — so they had to constantly convince the public to approve of what they were doing.

I love that — it’s all I heard all day from progressives except for Randi, and believe it or not, Ed Schultz (who I was forced to turn to because the whining on the other station was making my eyes hurt.)

And Rachel Maddow has been very upbeat about health care lately. That’s a nice turn for the better.

One more point. My understanding is that once the House passes HR 4872, the Senate bill (3590) will go to Obama for a signature. The Senate will pass the reconciliation as a separate action. So we’ll have health care as soon as 4872 passes. Then we’ll have better health care when the Senate passes the reconciliation bill.

Same here, K. I’m going to reserve my enthusiasm for a public option being in the bill until I see it’s in the final bill. I’ve heard too much discussion saying it’s not there. I hope it is there, but I’m just very confused about what I’m hearing and what I’m reading.

I’m stunned. I was skeptical because I didn’t see it in the parts of the bill I heard discussed today. And I don’t understand why we’re not hearing anything. But shhhhhh…. We’ll just keep it to ourselves until Sunday.

Now I see it — in the budget committee section.

I don’t know what to think. Why aren’t we hearing about this, and why wasn’t this part of the discussion when Kucinich was objecting? And why did Nancy say it wasn’t in the bill????
