Middle East Update

Khirad- we talked about that a couple of months ago- and nothing has changed my mind that Iran will push until they ‘claim’ Syria by ‘moving in to assist the government.’

Just saw a crawler on CNN that 8 Syrian babies died when power was cut to a hospital-You know if eight babies died- a hell of a lot of patients in critical care units did too..

@Khirad- mine is worse!
DO NOT move my coffee cup, my toothbrush, my hairbrush, everything is carefully arranged so I don’t miss a step!!
And if I miss my coffee- Evacuate!!
I do not function until 11AM- at the earliest, and God help the person who crosses that line…
I have an ex who can tell stories…! 🙂

However you May be too kind- or your hubby is very lucky!
I would place his flask on the table- point out the position- indicate where the ice cubes are kept. and close with a dire threat that Nothing; save the True Rapture should awaken me before 9AM!! 🙂

bito, Iran has been ‘at the ready’ for a long time..
I fully expect them to drop into Iran’s lap any day-and that would be ghastly for the Syrian people.

Kalima, from what I have been able to find; the Tangi Valley is nearly as god-forsaken as you can get.. it’s in the middle of the mountains- no urban areas anywhere close. It’s so remote only special ops are fighting there right now. Martha Radditz who has worked in combat areas since Murrow was a pup(not really; but a long time!) has been there recently- said the troops fighting in that valley are the most experienced, and combat hardened on both sides.
Apparently the Taliban ‘recently’ were ‘supplied’ with rocket propelled grenades and have become adept at their use.
hmmm… anyone smell Pakistan?????

That’s my second guess!!!
My first guess is, and has been, Egypt- but I can’t trace the languages back as far as the history of adobe building.

Not a well structured place to defend- Is Mogadishu the primary city- It almost looks like the only urban area in Somalia?
Tonight David Muir and Valerie Amos talked about the famine; she is very pessimistic about the long term. 29,000 children have died in this famine- effectively deleting most of a generation..

Tangi Valley, SAYYIDABAD DISTRICT, Afghanistan, hopefully will light up with burning Taliban forces.
US Special ops is concentrating on the Taliban in that area, in retaliation for the downing of the US helicopter.

Khirad, the vid link to Somalia is ‘denied’??
And I wonder about the so called ‘good news’-
David Muir joined Lama Hasan in Somalia and Kenya for a little over a week; the doctors -and the few refugees who would talk, all claim the Al-Shabab is impounding the relief supplies, herding the refugees to the former Presidential palace and arbitrarily murdering some of them.
I wonder how much of this story is a concession to Al-Shabab’s demands?
Muir went to the presidential palace and reported seeing no food or water.. He also reported that 6,000 children, mostly under the age of five, had died last month alone- despite the UN’s World Food Programme’s effort to lend assistance.
